Best season in DCA history ends at state tournament
Danville Christian preparing for its first Sweet 16 appearance
The Warriors' historic season ended on Wednesday night in the first round of the KHSAA Sweet 16, falling to South Oldham 67-44 at Rupp Arena.
'Obviously right now it hurts a lot. And we're all pretty disappointed because we thought we could make some noise in this tournament, but we didn't and we just need to look back and remember all the great things God has done for us this year and how he's blessed us, and it's been the best year in DCA history,' senior guard Titus Boyd said after the loss.

DCA jumped out to a 13-12 lead after the 1st quarter, but the Dragons started breathing fire in the 2nd, knocking down eight three-pointers and tallying a 26-7 advantage on the scoreboard.
The 7-footer combination of Geu Leek Ateny (14 points) and Lual Ayiei (10 points) were a daunting task for any team to face on the court, and were all over the court in this game as well. Boyd added 10 points for DCA.
Danville Christian wins the 12th Region Championship over Mercer County 39-36
The Warriors found magic in the region tournament, winning overtime and double overtime games to get them to the state tournament and creating memories they can remember forever.

Spurs' Carter Bryant volunteered at a back-to-school event in San Antonio
A post shared by Spurs Way (@spursway) San Antonio Spurs rookie forward Carter Bryant was among the players who volunteered at a back-to-school event on Sunday, benefiting the local youth in the community. Bryant was joined by teammate Luke Kornet at the event, which assisted with school supplies, health screenings and enrollment. They were pictured passing out paper, binders, hats and other related materials while providing positive interactions with the children and adults in attendance. The offseason period is an excellent chance for incoming rookies to get to know their respective markets and communities. He also recently volunteered with Dylan Harper and Riley Minix by serving food at Haven for Hope, a homeless shelter. Bryant helped Arizona to the Sweet 16 last season, averaging 6.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and one assist on 37.1% shooting from 3-point range. He scored in double figures five times, including a season-high-tying 14 points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks on Jan. 27. The 19-year-old logged six appearances with the Spurs in summer league, averaging 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 assists on 28.6% shooting from the field. He wrapped up his stay with a 16-point, five-rebound performance on July 17. Bryant appears to have ingratiated himself well within the local community after joining the organization in June. He has had the opportunity to give back and likely picked up some new fans along the way.

Colorado football lands commitment from class of 2026 in-state offensive lineman
100% Committed 🦬, All glory to god 🙌🏽🙌🏽@Coach_Gunnar @ghegamin @CoachBox6 @DeionSanders @adamgorney @GregBiggins @ChadSimmons_ @BrandonHuffman Colorado football received a commitment from 2026 three-star offensive lineman Josiah Manu on Saturday evening. Manu had been committed to San Jose State since July 1, but Deion Sanders and company worked their magic to flip the in-state recruit. 247Sports ranks the Loveland, Colorado native as the No. 108 offensive tackle and the No. 14 player from his home state of Colorado. Manu's commitment continues Sanders' run of adding depth to a revamped offensive line that looks to be a catalyst for an improved rushing attack. Colorado's 2026 recruiting class now sits at 11 commitments with Manu's flip placing the class at No. 78 overall, but still last in the Big 12. Manu is the first Colorado prospect to commit to the Buffs this recruiting cycle. Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads and Instagram. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Michigan State Spartans and head coach Tom Izzo were good last season, but they didn't have quite enough talent to make a Final Four run in the NCAA Tournament. When all was said and done for the 2024-25 college basketball season, the Spartans finished with a 30-7 overall record that included a 17-3 record in Big Ten play. They entered the tournament as a No. 2 seed. In the tournament, Michigan State defeated No. 15 Bryant in the first round, No. 10 New Mexico in the second, and No. 6 Ole Miss in the Sweet 16. Unfortunately, they fell to the No. 1-seeded Auburn Tigers in the Elite Eight.
