Popular brand launches holiday-inspired perfumes and one is like 'sunshine in a bottle'
The inclusive fashion house has tried their hand at personal fragrance and we've got our hands on them Popular high street retailer Never Fully Dressed is best known for their stylish ensembles, but now, the growing brand has dipped it's toe into new territory with it's first foray into fragrance. It's a smart move, and a 'natural next step' for the retailer, seeing as we have to agree that no outfit is complete without a spritz of perfume. As such, Never Fully Dressed has released two stand out scents that come in both a wearable perfume and candle form. Both scents, named 001 and 002, have been inspired by the Balearic Islands, making them ideal picks for summer. Speaking on the launch, NFD founder Lucy Aylen said: 'Our community has always inspired how we create - and scent was the natural next step, we wanted to bottle up that feeling of empowerment, connection, and freedom you get on a European holiday. Whether it's morning espresso in the sun or dancing barefoot under the stars - these scents bring the story to life.' Shoppers 'stop using shower gel' thanks to new 'favourite' that 'smells better' Olivia Attwood's 'stunning' initial necklace that 'goes with everything' is on sale Naturally, our scent enthusiasts, perfume expert Jada Jones and former Boots fragrance counter employee Bethan Shufflebotham couldn't wait to try them out. For fans of Jazz Club and Tobacco Vanille, 001 is probably the way to go. It combines spices like saffron, cinnamon and black pepper with coffee, rum, sandalwood and oud for something perfect for cooler months. Meanwhile, those who prefer a fruitier fragrance that lends itself to sunny days, the raspberry-forward 002 could be the perfect alternative to scents like Jo Malone Raspberry Ripple or Mugler's Angel Nova. Jada tried 001 I was very nervous when I saw what notes were in this perfume as I typically avoid saffron, oud and tobacco in my own perfumes. Any nerves I had were quickly squashed as soon as I first sprayed it from the bottle. Although I definitely lean more to classically feminine fragrances and this one is undeniably unisex, there's a sultry vibe to it that makes it quite pleasant. I think it's on the heavier side for summer but can see this being a hit this autumn. It would be such a great date night scent and there's the added bonus that it smells a lot more expensive than it is. The bottle is also a stunning addition to any collection. I found it easily lasts six hours on my skin and didn't need topping up, it might have the potential to last longer although I've not noticed that yet. This would make a great gift and has the added benefit of leaning unisex so it's easy to share with loved ones. I'm curious to see where this range goes. Bethan tried 002 I can't talk about this perfume without first mentioning the absolutely gorgeous bottle. It comes in an amber vessel with a pink marble effect lid, which I think I could repurpose as a little candlestick holder when I'm through with the scent. It looks stunning on display on a dressing table, which means I find myself reaching for it more frequently than the bottles I have stashed in a drawer, too, so I've no doubt I'll get through this fast. If the packaging wasn't joyful enough, then comes the fragrance itself, which really is like sunshine in a bottle. It's not your classic Sol de Janeiro kind of holiday scent, but really offers up something a little bit different and unique. When you first spray it, you get a fresh, juicy hit of raspberry with a little spicy kick from pink pepper - it's bright and uplifting so you feel instantly awake and the juxtaposition between the two notes is lovely. After a few minutes, it softens into a mix of fresh greens and florals thanks to the jasmine and cedar leaf. It's still light, but feels a bit more grown-up and polished. Then as it dries down, the scent turns warmer and more addictive, with vanilla, amber and patchouli. While the fragrance is distinctly a day-time scent, it's these final notes which make it great for layering for an evening vibe. It costs £69 for the 100ml, however, those looking just to try it out can get the 10ml for £19 - ideal for travelling - however, you don't then get the benefit of the beautiful bottle.

The Macmillan 24 Doors Of Joy Beauty Advent Calendar is back for 2025, and it's already proving popular with shoppers. Here's everything you need to know about the calendar It may feel criminal to talk about Christmas after this week's heatwave, however, several retailers have begun launching their 2025 Christmas countdowns, and beauty fans know the best ones sell out quickly. Boots has officially joined the 2025 festive countdown with the launch of its Macmillan 24 Doors Of Joy Beauty Advent Calendar, with shoppers already adding it to their baskets. Year after year, the charity-backed advent calendar earns a loyal following thanks to its variety of products, brands and feel-good factor. Priced at £90, we've estimated the value of the calendar to be over £140 - though the exact contents can't be calculated due to some being travel-sized. Inside shoppers can find 24 beauty treats from beloved brands like Liz Earle, No7, Soap and Glory and Champneys. Even better, £2 from every sale goes directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping provide vital information and comfort to those living with cancer. 'I'm trying to cut down my alcohol intake and this 99p low-calorie drink converted me' Harrods beauty advent calendar returns after fragrance one sold out in 48 hours Starring a mix of cult-classics and pampering must-haves, it's not hard to see why this calendar sells out each year. Some of the most valuable products come from the No7 collection, including travel-friendly versions of their Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Day and Night Creams, as well as a full sized mascara and brow pencil. No7 does usually release their own beauty advent calendars, but details are yet to be released on that front. However, both Soap & Glory and Liz Earle calendars are available to buy now. The Liz Earle's 24 Days of Liz Earle Advent Calendar gives customers a chance to sample the brand's various collections, from Superskin to the brand's cult-classic cleansers to luxurious creams and aromatic body care, it's a skincare lover's dream. Priced at £175, it's estimated to be worth £505.10, saving shoppers £330.10 on the contents. Packed with 24 days of beauty and bath-time indulgence, the Soap and Glory calendar retails at £48, with a claimed value of £92. Inside, shoppers can expect a mix of signature favourites, pampering minis, and seasonal exclusives spanning bodycare, skincare and fragrance. The Cult Beauty Advent Calendar often sells out quickly, and for 2025 boasts a value of more than £1,100, featuring 20 full sized products and 16 of this year's hottest launches. It typically retails for £250. However, for those looking to add a little bit of luxury to their festive season, the Macmillan calendar is still a solid choice and offers a gorgeous selection of pamper products. Boots announces two beauty advent calendars for 2025 – and the waitlists are open now
Even with the rise of dedicated shops like Sephora and Lookfantastic, every beauty obsessive has trodden the hallowed halls of the beauty aisles at Boots. Despite stiff competition, it remains a key retailer, and Boots' beauty advent calendars are no exception. That's right: this year, the high-street retailer has launched not one, but two Christmas countdowns: the 24 beauty stars luxury advent calendar (£150, and the 24 days of skin advent calendar (£70, There are already more than 15 beauty advent calendars on offer, and it's only August. While Boots is keeping some of the magic of Christmas alive with just a sneak peek at these new 24-day bundles, I can spy a few clues of what's to come. I predict Korean skincare, luxury Drunk Elephant moisturisers and more. Boots usually takes a more affordable approach to beauty advent calendars and, while high-end department stores like Liberty and Selfridges charge more than £250, Boots' 2025 calendar keeps things more accessibly aspirational with options at £70 and £150. Scroll on for everything I know so far, including full worth, a first look at the contents and how to join the waitlist. Boots 24 beauty stars luxury advent calendar: £150, The beauty stars calendar is Boots' main advent offering, with a whopping £600+ worth. The retailer is keeping the full 24 days secret for now, but after peering at the press shot, I've spied some gems. Included are Drunk Elephant's protini polypeptide cream (£21, Sol de Janeiro's 76 perfume mist (£24, the Laneige lip glowy balm (£17.50, and Iconic London's get cheeky face powder palette (£35, Interestingly, skincare obsessives will get their very own advent. If you have a penchant for fresh skin and make-up-free days, then you'll find what you're looking for in Boots' 24 days of skin offering. Again, the worth of this calendar exceeds four times the amount you'll pay and, in addition to the products above, I've spotted Round Lab's birch juice sunscreen (£18.90, and Anua's PDRN hyaluronic acid capsule serum (£18, as well as some impressive Korean skincare heroes.
