Who Sings 'Punkrocker?' That 'Superman' Ending Song, Explained
If you missed this song, it comes from the Swedish band Teddybears, who are an electronic post-punk band that has been making music since 1991. The version of "Punkrocker" that plays at the end of Superman is actually Teddybears' second version of the song and features true punk legend Iggy Pop on lead vocals.The first version of the song was on the Teddybears 2000 album Rock'n'Roll Highschool. But the 2006 version, which they re-recorded with Pop's vocal track, is on their better-known album, Soft Machine.
Not truly a punk song at all, the dancey, upbeat "Punkrocker" is one of those great anthems that often appeared on mix CDs in the mid-aughts. If David Corenswet's Superman is meant to represent a younger version of the character, then, in a sense, "Punkrocker" is a throwback track. It's also a song that perfectly suits director James Gunn's style, and will stay in your head for weeks.

Rachel Brosnahan may be a key piece of Superman's world, and thus the DCU going forward, but apparently Peter Safran, who runs the studio alongside James Gunn, won't travel with the actress. But that's because she's kind of cursed. Stopping by 'The Tonight Show' on Wednesday night, Brosnahan explained that she has been plagued by travel woes for about a decade, meaning a global press tour for 'Superman' has been difficult, to say the least. According to the actress, she always gets where she needs to go, 'but it's never not as stressful as humanly possible to get there.' Brosnahan didn't specify what misfortune Safran got to see to convince him not to travel with her, but explained to host Jimmy Fallon that the spectrum varies. Sometimes her troubles include massive flight delays and cancellations, sometimes lost luggage, or occasionally even crazier outcomes. 'It's everything, I feel like the number of times that somebody looked at me — nobody believes the curse, I should say, until they travel with me — and the number of times that somebody's looked at me and been like, 'Ma'am, I'm so sorry, I've just never seen this before,' is too many times.' So, amid the 'Superman' press run, Brosnahan sought out professional help — from a witch. 'Yeah, I called a witch,' she admitted. 'I brought her to my house. Watch: Rachel Brosnahan's 'travel curse' nearly cost her 'Superman' audition
July 17 (UPI) -- Superman actress Rachel Brosnahan says she had a "travel curse" that nearly caused her to miss the audition to portray the iconic Lois Lane. The former Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star, 35, discussed the curse, and how she broke it, when she stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday. "This is a good example of the curse," she said, referring to her Superman audition. Brosnahan was in New York City doing a show on Broadway and was attempting to make it to Los Angeles for the audition. "We got offstage at like 11:00 p.m. The only flight that would get me there in time was at 6 a.m. So, I got to the airport. I got there early, and the flight starts getting delayed and I just had a bad feeling about it, because curse," she explained. The flight was ultimately canceled and she ran back and forth across the airport trying to book another flight. "I got there and honestly I feel like the chaos that came with me after what I'd been through that morning must have felt so Lois Lane-coded or something because it worked out just fine," she said. She added that her curse is so bad she hired a witch to break it ahead of the Superman promotional tour. "I got really desperate and I started asking people if anyone knew like an energy healer or like a past-life reader... And so I called a witch and brought her to my house," she said. "...She brought a wishing well and a wand and she signed an NDA." Brosnahan reports her travel curse has since been lifted. Superman raked in some $122 million at the box office over the weekend. The film stars David Corenswet as the titular hero.
