Revealed: A timeline of Love Island's Harry & Emma's complicated relationship, from first kiss to villa rows

Cosmopolitan4 days ago
Love Island is currently underway and it's a jam packed villa, following the Casa Amor recoupling.
We now have a total of 12 couples in the villa and two singletons floating about. One of the new couples is Emma and Conor.
Emma is the ex of Harry, and her arrival in the main villa last night (9th July) caused some tension, as Harry accused her of coming all that way to "throw dirt" on his name.
In tonight's episode (10th July), Emma and Helena have a pretty heated chat, as Helena questions why Emma came on the dating show.
"Did you come in here for Harry?" Helena asks.
"No. You don't for one second need to worry about that," Emma says, before saying: "I think there's been things which I really don't agree with how you've carried yourself… Sneaking off to the Hideaway behind Shakira's back…'
As the exes figure how to live together while in villa, here's a timeline of Harry and Emma's relationship from the good ole days, to villa life.
Harry and Emma dated for about three to four years.
Emma previously shared a selfie on Instagram, where she can be seen cosying up to Harry in matching baseball caps, hers bearing an "E" and, his, an "H".
TikTok users pointed out her similarities to Shakira and Yasmin, who Harry previously had an interest in while in the villa before coupling up with Helena.
The image has since been deleted from Emma's Instagram, which has no posts pre-2024 and the pair no longer follow each other, but they haven't removed all traces of one another.
On 14th March 2021, Harry shared a picture with him and his mother for Mother's Day.
"Happy Mother's Day I owe it all to you! #thecreator" he captioned the photo.
Emma was one of the people to comment on the picture, sharing three pink double-heart emojis.
Harry was also friends with Emma's sister, who commented: "Cool guy" on a snap of him in Egypt back in 2023.
"Very good very cool," he replied to the comment.
It's not quite clear when the duo broke up, but according to Harry they were together for about three years after he cheated. If they got together around 2021, as their social media interactions imply, the pair will have ended things sometime last year.
Speaking to Helena about cheating on Emma, the 30 year-old said: "Yeah, a week in. Then we were together for almost three years after that."
Emma gave her side of events during Casa Amor, saying: "Harry and I had been together for four years but unfortunately we broke up because he was misbehaving."
She then revealed that Harry "brought girls" back to their home without her permission, leading to their break up.
She said: "The fact of the matter is, you've brought girls into our home, and I wouldn't do that to you, because that was the rules, and you think the rules don't apply to you.
"It's my house, Harry. You think as soon as there's a boundary in place, cross it? You think, 'Oh yes, let me just f*** this up', like there's just no need for any other woman to be in my house."
Harry and Emma reunited on Sunday's episode (6th July) of Love Island as Casa Amor kicked off for season 12.
Following the couples breakfast, the Love Island 2025 cast were told to gather around the fire pit as six new girls arrived on the terrace.
Harry then noticed his ex, and told the boys she's the reason he has the letter "E" tattooed on his wrist, although some fans have pointed out that he originally said this tattoo was for his late nan.
Emma blew Harry a kiss from the terrace, and they later caught up at Casa Amor, as she called him out for his behaviour.
They shared a kiss during the game of Raunchy Races, and some fans pointed out that it was quite "long" leading many to think they might be getting back together.
"Harry and Emma that kiss was a little long #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK," one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"That Harry and Emma kissed meant so much didn't think it was going to end #loveisland" another said.
Nevertheless, Emma insisted on letting the other cast members know that she wasn't coming to the villa to get back with Harry.
During the Casa Amor recoupling, Harry said that it was a "long way" for her to come to "throw dirt" on his name, and she said that he just didn't like being "exposed' for who he really is.
New episodes of Love Island air on weekdays and Sundays.

Sarah Jessica Parker Defends Not Posting About Politics: 'FDR Was Elected Without Social Media'

Sarah Jessica Parker is defending her decision to not often talk about politics on social media by pointing out that other major elections took place before apps like Instagram existed. While appearing on the Monday episode of Nicolle Wallace's The Best People podcast, Parker explained that she tries to avoid political conversations on social media and argued that there's a better way to express her thoughts on important topics. Says 'And Just Like That' Tests Two Couples With Cancer, Sex-With-an-Ex Confessions 'I often don't talk on social media because I don't think it's a place that's deserving of any real complicated conversation. I'm not interested in quick little snippets when it's dealing with conflict or even elections sometimes,' Parker said. 'I really was so thoughtful about how I wanted to talk about the election because I think it turns into a distraction from a campaign. It turns into fodder. It's misunderstood. You have no control over it.' The Sex and the City actress said that there are 'so many ways to work toward a more civil society' and she pointed out that 'FDR was elected without social media' in 1932. 'Many things happened, right and left, Republicans and Democrats for many, many, many, many years — many generations were elected without someone having to say something on Instagram,' Parker continued. Parker said that people have urged her to 'be vocal' as a public figure, though she has had to find her own way to be 'comfortable being vocal.' 'I'm not going to talk about stuff that I don't feel educated on. I'm not going to jump in on really complex areas that I feel are deserving of far more thought, consideration, nuance — which I know no one's interested in,' she said. 'And I just feel like I want to be helpful. I don't want to hurt something that matters to me.' When it comes to educating herself on political matters, Parker said that she reads a lot and tries to understand 'what is scary and what is dangerous.' She added that she also wants to know 'the difference between something being said and the reality of it happening.' While Parker does not want to be pressured into endorsing political candidates, she has been known to advocate for political teams she believes in. She previously endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in the 2024 presidential election against President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance. 'For the love of my country, for our public schools, for books, for common sense gun laws, for a living wage, for opportunity, for women, for voting rights, the the Dreamers, for arts and culture, for my mother and senior citizens,' she wrote in an Instagram caption in October 2024, which was accompanied by a photo of her hanging up a sign featuring Harris and Walz's names. Watch: Ailing Richard Dreyfuss misses SharkCon

Richard Dreyfuss was in the hospital this weekend, battling viral bronchitis. File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo July 14 (UPI) -- Jaws legend Richard Dreyfuss missed this weekend's SharkCon in Florida because he was hospitalized with viral bronchitis and forbidden by doctors to fly. The 77-year-old Oscar-winner appeared in a video posted to the fan event's Instagram page. He is shown lying in a hospital bed while covered up in a Jaws 50 blanket. "I feel terrible about not showing up and I feel worse about exposing you to this apparently very viral illness, but there will be other times and I will make it my business to show up," Dreyfuss told his fans in the video. "I want you all to feel very sorry for me and very sorry for yourselves," he laughed. "I'm in a lot of pain and that has to come first -- my health." Jaws, directed by Steven Spielberg and released in 1975, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Dreyfuss starred alongside Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Lorraine Gary and Murray Hamilton.
