How to Watch WWDC 2025: iOS 26, macOS Tahoe and other big announcements from Apple

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 is just a few days away, and anticipation is building over what the tech giant has in store. Traditionally, it has been a stage for major software reveals, and the occasional hardware surprise, and this year looks no different. All eyes are expected to be on iOS 26, which is tipped to be the headline announcement, alongside new AI-driven capabilities under the banner of Apple Intelligence. On the hardware front, there's growing speculation that Apple could tease the iPhone 17 Air, a sleek new addition to its flagship before diving into what Apple might unveil, here's how you can tune in and watch the WWDC 2025 keynote 2025: How to watch? Apple is gearing up for a jam-packed WWDC 2025, with a strong line-up that includes its much-awaited Keynote address and the Platforms State of the Union session. As per the official schedule, the Keynote will kick off at 10 AM PDT (that's 10.30 PM IST) on 9 June. This will be followed by the Platforms State of the Union at 1 PM PDT (1.30 AM IST), which promises a more technical dive into what's new for developers. The event will be livestreamed globally and can be watched via Apple's official website, the Apple TV app, or the company's YouTube 2025: What to expect? advertisementiOS 26, a change of name: Apple is expected to make a surprising leap in its operating system versioning at WWDC 2025, skipping the expected iOS 19 update in favour of iOS 26. This change would align the iOS version numbers with the calendar year, setting a precedent for future releases such as iOS 27, 28, and beyond. This bold move hints at a refreshed approach to Apple's software evolution.A fresh, unified look across devices: Major aesthetic changes are also on the cards, with Apple anticipated to introduce a new, consistent design language across all its devices. Early reports suggest the redesign will take cues from the Vision Pro's operating system, which is built for mixed reality. How this futuristic design will translate to traditional devices like iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches remains to be seen, but a cohesive and modern interface is expected to be at the heart of the update.A new gaming app: Apple seems poised to reinvent its social gaming experience. The decade-old Game Center may be retired and replaced by a brand-new, pre-installed gaming app that will be available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. This new initiative points to Apple's renewed ambition to foster gaming communities and enhance social engagement within its integration: Developers could soon gain access to a powerful new toolkit that integrates Apple's proprietary large language models into third-party apps. This move aims to expand AI capabilities on the iPhone, enhancing app functionality. The announcement comes after initial Apple Intelligence features, such as notification summaries, faced criticism for inaccuracies. The new development kit may help improve AI's usefulness and reliability across surprises still possible: Though 2025 has already brought new MacBook Air M4, iPad Air M3, and iPhone 16e models, Apple may still have some hardware announcements up its sleeve. A refreshed Mac Pro, which holds particular significance for developers, could be unveiled. There's also quiet speculation about the iPhone 17 Air, rumoured to be the slimmest iPhone yet. While a full launch seems unlikely, Apple might offer a brief teaser during the event. Additionally, a sneak peek of the long-rumoured Apple smart glasses could make an appearance, following the tradition of hardware reveals at past WWDCs.
