IIITDM holds interactive session on AI

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Management (IIITDM)-Kurnool on Saturday conducted an interactive session with Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, the Founder Chairman of Cyient. The session delved into thought-provoking discussions on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in design and manufacturing, Industrial Renaissance, and the evolving landscape of technology. Dr. Reddy emphasized on how skills and adaptability matter more than specific academic branches, and how entrepreneurship and start-ups are reshaping industries. According to a release by the IIITDM, Dr. Reddy highlighted the transformative impact of AI and reassured the students that AI will not take away jobs but rather augment human capabilities, enabling greater efficiency and innovation. The interaction also touched upon the role of AI in aerospace, manufacturing, and design engineering. Students engaged enthusiastically, asking questions and pitching ideas during the session. Selected students were awarded certificates for their real-time idea pitches, organised by the Entrepreneurship and Business Cell (EnB Cell) of IIITDM with guidance and encouragement from Dr. Reddy. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony by faculty members. Associate Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Naresh Babu hosted and coordinated the event.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Management (IIITDM-Kurnool) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with grandeur and enthusiasm. IIITDM Registrar Rajkumar hoisted the National Flag, marking the commencement of the celebrations. A march past was taken out by students and the security team. Students and faculty members gave patriotic speeches, paying tribute to the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. Awards were presented to the best students in recognition of their excellence, and winners of the Har Ghar Tiranga drawing competition were felicitated. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, a blood donation camp was organised on the campus in collaboration with the Government Blood Bank. A total of 52 students donated blood on the occasion. Two of them, Aravind, a fourth year mechanical engineering student, and Sujan from the CSE department, were donating blood for the seventh time. The camp was coordinated by the NSS team of IIITDM-Kurnool.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM)-Kurnool is organising a series of physical and online awareness camps on B. Tech/Dual Degree admissions and the JOSAA/CSAB 2025 counselling process. An online session will be held on June 9 (Monday) at Zilla Parishad meeting hall from 11 am onwards. The online link for it is the IIITDM said in a release. In addition, an awareness session will also be conducted at IIITDM campus at Jagannathagattu in Kurnool, on June 10 (Tuesday) and June 11 (Wednesday) from 11 am onwards. The online link for the session is The objective of the sessions is to inform and assist JEE aspirants and parents in understanding the programmes offered by the institute, explore the campus facilities, and get hands-on guidance regarding the JOSAA/CSAB 2025 counselling and admission process. The sessions will provide an overview of B. Tech and Dual Degree programmes (CSE, AI & DS, ECE – Design & Manufacturing, ME – Design & Manufacturing), live demo of JOSAA/CSAB-2025 choice filling, details on scholarships, tuition waivers, and loan schemes, campus tour and facilities overview (labs, hostels, health centre, sports, cafeteria) and interaction with faculty, and the admissions team. By attending the sessions, one can understand the institute's unique design and innovation-focused engineering education, clarify their doubts about the JOSAA/CSAB counselling process, learn about financial assistance options like scholarships and loans, explore the modern campus environment through guided tours, get personalised guidance directly from institute faculty and mentors. A B Tech student at IIITDM Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh was detained by police on Monday for allegedly filming her senior roommate in the hostel's bathroom, officials said. The incident came to light after a student of 4th year student complained to Indian Institute of Information Technology and Design Manufacturing (IIITDM) authorities about the suspected involvement of the junior student. Acting on the complaint, the hostel warden checked the mobile phones of all girl inmates, and found some objectionable videos recorded by the second-year student, officials said. 'A girl student of B. Tech second year IITDM has been detained after she was accused of filming her roommate in the bathroom of the institute's hostel,' Additional SP Suryakant Sharma told reporters.

Jabalpur, A B Tech student at prestigious IIITDM Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh was detained by police on Monday for allegedly filming her senior roommate in the hostel's bathroom, officials said. The incident came to light after a student of 4th year B-Tech complained to the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Design Manufacturing's authorities about the suspected involvement of the junior student on Sunday night. Acting on the complaint, the hostel warden checked the mobile phones of all girl inmates, and found some objectionable videos recorded by the second year student, officials said. "A girl student of B. Tech second year of Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing has been detained after she was accused of filming her roommate in the bathroom of the institute's hostel," Additional Superintendent of Police Suryakant Sharma told reporters. The student is being questioned. An FIR will be filed accordingly, he added. Some students of the institute had lodged a complaint at Dumna police outpost stating that a second-year girl student was shooting videos of her roommate in the bathroom, Sharma said. PDPM IIITDM in charge director Aparajita Ojha told PTI that the institute has set up a three-member committee of professors to probe the allegations against the second-year student. She said the institute authorities received a complaint from the B-Tech fourth-year student on Sunday night about the suspected role of the junior student in shooting her videos in the bathroom. "After receiving the complaint, the hostel warden immediately checked the mobile phones of all the girl inmates. During the inspection, one to two videos of the bathroom were found on the mobile phone of the second-year student," Ojha added. The committee is examining the matter and action will be taken against the student accordingly, Dr Ojha said, adding that police were informed.
