The 'wistful' prediction Carole Middleton had for her family that daughter-in-law Alizée made a reality
For Carole Middleton, who saw one daughter become the future queen and another start up her own happy family, her job as a mom seems mostly done.
However, there was still one "wistful" prediction she had involving her son, James Middleton, and his partner, Alizée Thevenet, that would turn out coming true.
The Middleton family were thrust into the spotlight after Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011.
Ever since that monumental day, the Princess of Wales' family have proven themselves to be popular fixtures in the press, attending major events like King Charles' Coronation or winning fans of their own through Pippa Middleton's chic outfits or James' successful business ventures.
As for Carole and Michael, the grandparents of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have stepped up and proven "indispensable" to keeping the family unit together - and while she's discreet with her family's personal details, she occasionally offers rare glimpses.
One such example came in December 2018 when her "hope" for her son James and Alizée Thevenet was revealed. Speaking about her children and their partners, the she expressed a desire to have a "lovely" daughter-in-law.

Carole divulged to The Telegraph that her biggest fear as Kate, Pippa and James grew up was that she'd "lose [her] family" but she happily confirmed that they've "stayed close".
"I have two lovely sons-in-law and," she said before adding, in what the publication pondered could be a "wistful note", "I hope I'll have a lovely daughter-in-law."
That same month as Carole shared her heartfelt hope for James, he and Alizée were photographed attending the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund's Christmas Carol Service at St Luke's Church. At the time Alizée made a concerted effort to keep her face away from the cameras and it wasn't until May 2019 that James shared his first picture of them as a couple publicly on Instagram.
It was just five months later in October 2019 the Princess of Wales's brother confirmed the news that Carole had been wishing for - that he and Alizée were engaged and she was going to have a "lovely daughter-in-law". James and Alizée first met at the South Kensington Club, reportedly in the summer of 2018, and he famously credited his late spaniel Ella for introducing them.
"Ella was lying at my feet under the table; realising she might want some water, I trusted her to take herself over to the water bowl across the terrace. However, she made a beeline for Alizée," he wrote in The Telegraph in 2021. "Rather embarrassed, I went over to apologise and bring Ella back. But Alizée thought I was the waiter and ordered her drink while continuing to stroke Ella, who at this point was on her back lapping up the attention."
James added, "Little did I know, but I had just met my future wife, all thanks to Ella."
James and Alizée's wedding took place in September 2021, with the couple tying the knot in France, surrounded by their nearest and dearest including William and Kate.
For Mother's Day in 2023, James shared a special photo of himself with Carole which reports have suggested could have been taken on his wedding day, with some claiming that he appears to be wearing the same suit.
James and Alizée have since welcomed their first child - a baby boy named Inigo, born September 21, 2023.
James treats fans to rare glimpses into his private life with his wife, son and animals.
Most recently, to celebrate his 38th birthday, James shared snippets of Alizee, Inigo and his pets soaking up country life, writing, "Fresh air, wagging tails, and the wild, beautiful rhythm of family life."

Taylor Swift Reveals New Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl' in Teaser for Travis Kelce's Podcast
Taylor Swift is officially entering her next era, with the superstar announcing her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, during a teaser for an upcoming special episode of Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast on Wednesday. The new album — her 12th studio effort since her 2006 debut — marks Swift's first new project since releasing The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024. Just over a year later, that album is already six-times-platinum, according to the RIAA, and it was nominated for album of the year at the 67th Grammy Awards. More from The Hollywood Reporter Travis Kelce Admits Hollywood Calling Might Have Hurt His NFL Game Depeche Mode Concert Film Gets October Theatrical Release Date Taylor Swift Confirmed to Make Guest Appearance on Travis Kelce's 'New Heights' Podcast Earlier on Monday, a countdown started on Swift's official website, with it expiring at 12:12 p.m. ET. At that time, a new teaser for the upcoming New Heights episode — which will feature the pop superstar as a guest — dropped on her Instagram. In the clip, Swift, who is sitting next to her boyfriend Travis, tells Jason, 'So I wanted to show you something.' She then whips out a mint green briefcase with her initials written in the color orange on the front. She then confesses, 'This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl.' Jason then proceeds to yell in excitement, as Travis shouts, 'TS12.' Swift did not share the album's release date, and the cover art was also blurred out in the teaser, leaving room for more surprises. The post also includes the caption,' Posted at 12:12 on the 12th. Tay's 12th album is called………… pre pre-order now at New Heights teased Swift's special appearance on the podcast earlier Monday, confirming a special guest online and posting an anonymous silhouette. The podcast later confirmed in a teaser on Instagram that the singer was, in fact, the special guest on Wednesday's episode. Swift has kept a low profile in 2025 compared to the past several years since she wrapped her record-breaking Eras Tour at the end of 2024. Though she made waves back in May when she announced that she'd finally secured the purchase of the rights to her early master recordings. That ended one of the most contentious disputes in music business history, which had begun when music executive Scooter Braun bought the rights to Swift's first five albums via an acquisition of her former record label Big Machine in 2019. (Braun sold her masters to Shamrock Capital a year later, with Swift making a deal with the company this year.) 'This was a business deal to them, but I really felt like they saw it for what was to me: my memories and my sweat and my handwriting and my decades of dreams,' Swift said of the deal at the time. Still, even as that controversy courted drama, Swift turned it into a lucrative chapter in her career with the 'Taylor's Versions' of her original albums, which helped elevate her superstardom and, in several cases, outsold the originals. Like all of Swift's releases, the new album will almost assuredly be a chart monster as well, as she is perhaps the only artist left in the business who could reliably sell a million units in one week alone. (2022's Midnights debuted with over 1.5 million units sold in its first week, while last year's The Tortured Poets Department opened with a massive 2.6 million units.) Khloé Kardashian Reacts to Justin Bieber's New Photo With Kendall Jenner
Khloé Kardashian Reacts to Justin Bieber's New Photo With Kendall Jenner originally appeared on Parade. Justin and Hailey Bieber's son, Jack Blues, turns one this week. And in the days leading up to his big milestone, the couple has been sprinkling Instagram with sweet glimpses of their little one—including a shot of him in a bubblegum-pink outfit and tiny hat, and another of him rocking a lemon-lime ribbed set while lounging barefoot in the grass. But while fans were busy melting over Jack content, it was the 31-year-old Canadian singer's latest post with Kendall Jenner that ended up hijacking the spotlight. And who popped up in the comments? None other than Jenner's sister, Khloé Kardashian. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 On Saturday, August 16, Justin uploaded a moody snap from a night out. In the shot, Jenner, 29, appears to be mid-story, hands flailing like she's explaining quantum physics. The 'Peaches' hitmaker is beside her in a ribbed tank and cargos, staring ahead with zero context. In the comments section, Kardashian, 41, dropped a string of red hearts—an unofficial Kardashian stamp of approval—while Hailey, 28, slid in with: 'It's always Kendall telling a story with her hands.' Fans, naturally, had thoughts. 'Justin trying to lock in to what Kendall is saying is SENDING me,' one person joked. ''So anyways last week I had this bussin sandwich. It was like this big,'' another imagined her monologue. 'She's probably telling him how to cut a cucumber and he's just trying to picture it in his head but can't cause it just sounds wrong,' someone else added, a direct hit at Jenner's now-iconic cucumber-cutting struggle on The Kardashians. Not all of the comments were lighthearted, though. 'This man posted up with everybody but his wife,' one user noted. 'Kendall is always too close to somebody's man,' someone else added. 'There's more chemistry than with the wife,' another wrote. 🌹 SIGN UP for our The Bachelor newsletter to stay up to date on the latest Bachelor Nation news, exclusive interviews, episode recaps & more 🌹 Meanwhile, others defended the trio's friendship. 'What's funny is Hailey probably took this picture and everyone is writing think pieces — Justin is the only person that can't take a photo with a friend and have it just be a photo with a friend,' one person pointed out. 'It's her best friend and they are all lifetime friends. Y'all act like posting anything with another female is diabolical,' another argued. 'Women can also have faithful friends, we just have to know how to choose them 🤍 leave your traumas,' someone else added. 💪 SIGN UP for tips to stay healthy & fit with the top moves, clean eats, health trends & more delivered right to your inbox twice a week 💪 For anyone trying to untangle the dynamics: Justin and Hailey first met back in 2009 when her dad, Stephen Baldwin, introduced them backstage at the Today show. Hailey later met Jenner in 2012 at The Hunger Games premiere, and the two quickly became close—Jenner even told Vogue during a Met Gala red carpet chat that they're basically 'sisters.' Meanwhile, Justin and Jenner started orbiting the same friend group in the early 2010s, but when romance rumors peaked around 2014–2015 after a few dinners and vacation snapshots, Jenner shut them down, calling him a 'longtime friend.' Justin doubled down on that narrative in a Billboard cover story, noting his relationship with Jenner was never serious. As for Kardashian, 41, her reaction makes perfect sense—she's been Team Kendall and Team Hailey for years. In September 2023, she cheered Justin and Hailey's fifth wedding anniversary on Instagram, writing, 'This makes my heart happy 😍😍 I love you twoooooo ❤️.' By August 2024, when the couple announced the arrival of baby Jack with a close-up of his foot, Kardashian was right back in the comments—this time writing, 'Jack Blues!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!! I love this tiny foot so so much.' The Good American co-founder is just as vocal when it comes to her sisters, once calling it 'insulting' when people refer to Kendall and Kylie Jenner as her half-sisters—a stance she made crystal clear on her Khloé in Wonderland podcast in March, proving she does not play about her girls. Pedro Pascal Has Had A Massive Year, But I Just Watched One Of His 2025 Movies That No One Is Talking About
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's safe to say Pedro Pascal is having a very good year. Between being a part of one of the biggest 2025 TV shows with The Last of Us Season 2 to having large roles in two of the biggest releases on the 2025 movie schedule, we've seen a lot of the former Game of Thrones actor. However, while everyone is talking about The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, there's one movie that seems to have flown under the radar: Freaky Tales. If you haven't heard of Freaky Tales, just know that it's an anthology film set in Oakland in 1987, telling four underdog stories – be it in sports, the world of crime, the East Bay's hip hop scene, or a battle between punks and Nazi skinheads. Now that's streaming with an HBO Max subscription, there's no reason not to watch this Pedro Pascal movie no one is talking about… HBO Max: Plans start from $9.99 a monthPay $9.99 a month for its With Ads plan, with three tiers available for subscribers. You can also prepay for a year and save up to 20%.View Deal Freaky Tales Is A Wild And Blood-Soaked Anthology Film Will All Kinds Of Surprises Don't worry, you're not going to find any spoilers that weren't already teased in the Freaky Tales trailer below, but just know that this is a wild and blood-soaked anthology film where all four stories – 'Strength in Numbers: The Gilman Strikes Back,' 'Don't Fight the Feeling,' 'Born to Mack,' and 'The Legend of Sleepy Floyd' – share a common conneection. It's campy, it's violent, and it's fun as hell. And then there are the surprises throughout Freaky Tales. With some outrageous cameos, including one that I'm still laughing about days later, pop culture references, and one shocking turn after another, this crazy anthology film is something else! Like The Last Of Us And The Fantastic Four, Pedro Pascal Plays A Father Forced To Make A Grave Decision Pedro Pascal has played some great dads and father figures in recent years, with The Wild Robot, The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, The Last of Us, and The Mandalorian quickly coming to mind. This is the same for Freaky Tales, as the in-demand actor, who had to drop out of another great 2025 horror flick, Weapons, plays a former enforcer who's tasked with making a grave decision after the birth of his first child. Again, I won't give anything away, but his character finds himself in quite a pickle where there's only one, and incredibly violent, way out. I Honestly Don't Know How This Flew Under The Radar When I was writing about all the new 2025 action movies I wanted to see, I made sure to include Freaky Tales, as the premise and cast had me interested to see how it'd all go down. Back then, and even now, I haven't come across anyone else who's watched this movie, and I'm struggling to figure out how it flew under the radar for so long. With Captain Marvel and Masters of the Air's Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directing, a cast that includes Jay Ellis as NBA legend Sleepy Floyd, Ironheart's Dominique Thorne, Ben Mendelsohn, and the late Angus Cloud, and some of the wildest gore I've seen all year, this checks all the boxes. Maybe now, with the movie streaming on HBO Max, this will change. Don't be like me and wait so long to watch Freaky Tales, because this is one wild-as-hell anthology film you won't want to miss.
