Viewers of Britain's Got Talent are clamouring for clarity after Teddy Magic unexpectedly withdrew from the first live semi-final. The first live show kicked off on Saturday (April 26) with a dinosaur-themed band, Heavysaurus.
Eight-year-old magician Teddy Magic was next in line to take the stage following his introduction, but presenters Ant and Dec then announced that the young performer 'wasn't ready' to appear.
To fill the gap, they engaged in an impromptu discussion with the judges about the preceding act, during which Simon appeared visibly 'fuming' due to the deviation from the show's schedule. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter

Ant addressed the situation, saying: "Now Teddy isn't quite ready backstage yet, so we'll chat to you judges," while Dec indicated there would be a "little change of plan".
Simon's reaction was terse as he questioned, "Wait, so the act's not ready? ," prompting Ant to defend the young magician: "He's only eight years old, so back off!", reports Manchester Evening News.
Following their conversation with the judges, the duo proceeded to introduce the third act, Vinnie McKee, with Dec noting: "We're going to go to something else and come back to Teddy later on."
However, as the programme progressed, it was confirmed by the hosts that Teddy Magic would not be performing that evening and it was hoped he would return later in the series.

ITV responds to claims that Coronation Street and Emmerdale will merge
ITV has responded to the claims Coronation Street and Emmerdale are going to merge. Recently, rumours and comments started to circulate that both soaps could potentially work together. It was suggested that this could happen in Salford to cut production costs, but this will not be happening. The response from the channel comes after former Director of Television Peter Fincham suggested that Emmerdale could move from Yorkshire. He said that the soap would still be set there, but made in Manchester. 'You've got Coronation Street being made in Manchester, Emmerdale in Leeds', he said on the podcast Insiders: The TV Podcast with TV producer Jimmy Mulville. 'Could you imagine, rather like the daytime daytime consolidation, that ITV will decide to have them both made in the same place under one umbrella? Big savings. It could be made in Manchester and Salford, which is a bigger hub for ITV.' Responding to these claims, a spokesperson for ITV cleared everything up and told Metro: 'ITV has no plans to merge the productions of Coronation Street and Emmerdale. 'Both are uniquely set in Manchester and Leeds, and that production model will continue for the long term. It's pure speculation to say otherwise.' Coronation Street and Emmerdale will crossover next year, for one episode. It was announced earlier this year that both serial dramas will air in what has been dubbed as a 'power hour' from 8pm, Monday to Friday. Ultimately it means that both shows will lose a half an hour episode per week. Producers have confirmed that the episode will be marked in 'spectacular style', with production teams from Leeds and Trafford working together to achieve an 'ambitious' stunt' that will have 'everlasting consequences' for the communities of Weatherfield and Emmerdale. An 'ingenious' way of merging the two has been devised by those behind the scenes, although it's understood that the characters will then return to their respective environments after the ep. Richard Madeley opens up on grief after father 'died on the spot'
Richard Madeley has opened up on the moment his father died, saying he 'had a heart attack on the spot' weeks after his wedding Good Morning Britain graced the telly again on Thursday (12 June), as presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid served up another packed edition of the ITV breakfast programme. The dynamic duo delivered a raft of headlines and news updates to ITV audiences. They also welcomed Emmerdale's Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle, for a heartfelt live chat. Lisa talked about her character's current dramas in the soap, alongside touching on her personal battles with loss, mentioning the passing of both her mother and past Strictly Come Dancing partner Robin Windsor. This poignant discussion led Richard to share his own heart-wrenching memory of his dad's sudden demise in 1977, which occurred just days after he wed Lynda Hooley. Reflecting on that time, Richard shared: "I remember when my father died. He died on the spot, had a heart attack when he was 49. Huge shock. I was a breakfast producer then, a radio producer." He recounted the difficult period following his father's death: "I remember I had a week off to come to terms with it. After the funeral, I went in, and the guy that I worked with didn't say a word. He didn't say, 'how are you, or what happened', he obviously felt it was best not to talk about it." He continued, expressing understanding yet disagreement with his colleague's reaction: "I don't blame him for that. He couldn't have been more wrong. You want people to come up to you and talk to you. You need that trigger to talk." Moreover, Thursday's episode saw them join forces with their colleague Richard Arnold, who came bearing the latest scoops in showbiz and television, reports the Manchester Evening News. During his segment, Richard paid homage to the legendary musician Brian Wilson following the announcement of his passing on 11 June. Brian was a founding member of the iconic Beach Boys. The lead singer and co-founder of the band died at the age of 82, with his cause of death yet to be disclosed. "A real pop pioneer. He co-founded one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, the Beach Boys, rivalling The Beatles," Richard shared with his audience. He also reminisced about his own discovery of the Beach Boys back in the 1970s, admitting he played their records "constantly" and was "very much a Beach Boys fan".
