The company's unbilled order book quintupled from RM242mil in the fourth quarter of FY24 to RM1.2bil in 4Q25.
PETALING JAYA: Solar energy company Solarvest Holdings Bhd is poised to scale new heights as the group's stellar results for its financial year 2025 ended March 31, (FY25) sets the stage for a stronger FY26, underpinned by a five-fold jump to RM1.2bil in unbilled orders, analysts say.
Hong Leong Investment Bank Research (HLIB Research) said: 'We expect another record year for Solarvest going into FY26, backed by strong order book growth and commissioning of assets towards the later part of FY26.'
The company's unbilled order book quintupled from RM242mil in the fourth quarter of FY24 (4Q24) to RM1.2bil in 4Q25.
'We believe execution of Corporate Green Power Programme contracts should kick into higher gear in FY26,' the research house added
HLIB Research also anticipated the commencement of projects under the fifth phase of the government's Large Scale Solar (LSS5) initiative could lift Solarvest's engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning revenue towards 2H26.
Solarvest's management is guiding for further contract wins from LSS5 in the near term, the research house noted.
According to HLIB Research, Solarvest has consistently maintained a minimum 30% market share in past phases of the LSS initiative.
Separately, LSS6 bidding is set to commence in the second and third quarters of this year, and the research house thinks the available quotas will be sizeable, ranging between two gigawatt and four gigawatt.
'As such we reckon that Solarvest management's guidance of surpassing RM2bil in unbilled orders in FY26 is conservative, looking at the existing pipeline and its stellar track record,' said HLIB Research.
The research house maintained a 'buy' call on the stock with a target price of RM2.25 per share.

MCE Holdings eyes expansion phase amid contract wins

PETALING JAYA: MCE Holdings Berhad is entering a multi-year growth phase, underpinned by landmark contract wins, strategic global expansion and a diversification into high-value automotive electronics. Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research has initiated coverage with a 'buy' rating and a target price of RM2.40, implying a 66.7% capital upside. It sees MCE as 'a resilient, scalable proxy to Malaysia's transition towards high-value auto electronics and the global 'China + N' supply chain realignment'. At the heart of MCE's growth outlook is its breakthrough entry into the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain for Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua). HLIB Research reported that the company secured contracts to supply high-value infotainment and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), raising potential revenue per vehicle to approximately RM3,000, which is 10 times its traditional content value. The research unit estimated annual revenue from this programme to reach RM39.8mil to RM59.7mil, or up to 38% of turnover for the financial year ended July 2024 (FY24), if Perodua meets its targeted sales volumes. MCE is also accelerating its international presence, with significant wins in the US market. Contracts with Nasdaq-listed Dorman Products and Michigan-based JVIS USA will add a combined RM30.3mil in annual revenue at full ramp-up. HLIB Research noted that these contracts were secured via competitive global tenders, underscoring MCE's 'technical credibility and global competitiveness'. Beyond automotive, the group is also moving into new verticals. A joint venture with Hong Kong's Sounding Industries will produce non-automotive products with minimal capital expenditure, while a partnership with China's Nanjing Chuhang Technology will position MCE in the fast-growing mmWave radar segment for ADAS. In addition, HLIB Research reported that financially, MCE has turned around its pre-FY22 losses, supported by Proton Holdings Bhd's sales recovery and deeper supply ties with Perodua. Core earnings are forecast to grow at a 15.8% compounded annual growth rate between FY25 and FY27, reaching RM27mil by FY27, with full-year contributions from EV, export and non-automotive contracts. The group's balance sheet remains strong, with net cash of RM83.6mil, or about 42% of market capitalisation.

MCE eyes growth on Perodua EV, US expansion: HLIB

KUALA LUMPUR: MCE Holdings Bhd is set to enter a multi-year growth phase on the back of a landmark Perodua electric vehicle (EV) contract and expansion into the United States, according to Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research. HLIB Research has initiated coverage on MCE with a "Buy" call and a target price of RM2.40, valuing the stock at 15 times its mid-FY27 partially diluted earnings per share of 16 sen. The firm described the auto parts supplier as a resilient, scalable play on Malaysia's shift towards high-value automotive electronics and the global 'China + N' supply chain realignment. MCE's entry into the EV segment comes through a high-value contract with Perodua to supply infotainment and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) components, with revenue per vehicle at around RM3,000, about ten times its typical value. "With Perodua targeting an affordable launch price, we estimate MCE's annual revenue from this programme could amount to between RM39.8 million and RM59.7 million annually, or 26 per cent to 38 per cent of FY24 revenue, making it a powerful earnings catalyst," HLIB Research said. HLIB Research added that the company is accelerating its global expansion with two US wins for Nasdaq-listed Dorman in the automotive aftermarket and Michigan-based JVIS, a supplier to major original equipment manufacturers. The firm said the JVIS deal involves two multi-year mechatronics supply contracts worth RM91.7 million over five years, adding about RM18.3 million annually. Beyond automotive, MCE is expanding into new growth areas via multiple joint ventures, including a tie-up with Hong Kong's Sounding Industries to produce non-automotive products at its Johor facilities. The company also partnered with China's Nanjing Chuhang to produce ADAS mmWave radars at its upcoming Serendah plant, along with Chery-linked suppliers Cheling and Atech for participation in Chery's Malaysian localisation programme. MCE also formed a joint venture with India's Abhishek Electronics to tap into the fast-growing Indian automotive market. HLIB Research projects MCE's core earnings to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 15.8 per cent with estimated earnings for FY25, FY26 and FY27 reaching RM20.2 million, RM21.4 million and RM27 million, respectively. "FY26 growth will be driven by contribution from Dorman and the non-auto segment starting in the first half of FY26, with a stronger lift in the second half from Perodua's EV supply. "FY27 will see the full-year EV impact, maiden JVIS contribution and scaling of Dorman and non-auto has a robust balance sheet with a net cash position of RM83.6 million, equivalent to 59.8 sen a share, around 42 per cent of market capitalisation," the firm added. HLIB Research said years of investment in engineering and technology now position MCE to ride structural shifts in Malaysia's automotive industry towards localisation, high-value electronics and EV adoption, while benefiting from global supply chain diversification. It added that the company offers a resilient, scalable play on the sector's long-term transformation, anchored by stable demand from Proton and Perodua, as well as expansion via high-margin electronics, exports and strategic JVs.

Itmax poised for more smart parking wins in Johor, Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR: Itmax System Bhd is expected to strengthen its position in Malaysia's smart parking market, with HLIB Research forecasting additional contract wins in both Johor and Selangor in the coming months. This follows Itmax's latest appointment to operate the Selangor intelligent parking (SIP) system and manage parking compounds for Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) under a 10-year contract, extendable by five years. The latest job win marks the group's second smart parking deal in Selangor, adding 50,000 operational bays and bringing its total in the state to approximately 100,000. HLIB Research said MBSA manages about 80,000 gazetted parking bays, though only about 50,000 are currently operational. The firm said its back-of-the-envelope estimates suggest this region could contribute around RM4.1 million to the group's bottom line. HLIB Research said Itmax has secured seven out of 16 councils in Johor for smart parking so far. "We believe the group is well-positioned to progressively secure additional councils, particularly with Johor's push for a single system policy, which requires one vendor to manage CCTV, smart traffic lights and smart parking - ensuring streamlined operations across the state. "In Selangor, we understand that Rantaian Mesra was appointed by Menteri Besar Incorporation to spearhead the first phase of the SIP, covering MBSJ, MBSA, MPS and MBPJ," it said. The firm added that MPS and MBPJ have yet to appoint an operator for SIP and securing these regions would be significant to Itmax, given the sizeable earnings potential, with Selangor boasting an estimated 200,000 to 300,000 gazetted parking spaces HLIB Research kept its "Buy" call on Itmax with a target price of RM5.17, which factors in a weighted average cost of capital (WACC) of 7.2 per cent and a terminal growth rate of 3.0 per cent. "Our terminal growth assumption reflects the long runway for CCTV deployment across Malaysia, supported by the national digitalisation and smart city initiatives," the firm added. HLIB Research said Itmax's current rollout of 10,000 CCTV units for DBKL is dwarfed by Singapore's 90,000, with Singapore targeting 200,000 units by 2030.
