Abdoulaye Mariko fulfils Orlando Pirates dream
Having made a name for himself with Malian outfit Djoliba FC, when Abdoulaye Mariko made his debut for Orlando Pirates over the weekend, it was a moment that will be forever etched into his memory.
Pirates won their MTN8 clash over Polokwane City 2-0 at Orlando Stadium, as Mariko came on as a substitute in the final 20 minutes.
By all accounts, Mariko produced an impressive showing in his brief time on the field, which has made Pirates fans sit up and take notice of the 22-year-old midfielder.
Mariko rose to prominence as a vital cog of Djoliba, which featured in the group stage of the CAF Champions League last season.
