I Attended Katy Perry's Hometown Concert as a Klub 143 VIP — Here's What It's Like
is 40 and thriving, and boy does she know how to throw a party in her hometown while on The Lifetimes Tour.
As a guest at Klub 143, the tour's VIP experience, the evening began with a special reception thrown by SUPER that included De Soi (Perry's very own non-alcoholic aperitifs), light bites and — for the California girls — Cali's very own McConnell's Fine Ice Creams, which served up their special Perry-themed scoops of "Baby, You're a Firework."
After some special photo opps with Perry's signature butterfly from her latest 143 album, I was treated to a special backstage tour to experience what it's like to actually be the "Dark Horse" singer for a split second during showtime. We even got to run Perry's quick route to the stage and learned how she navigates those challenging costume changes.

For the actual concert, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Perry rose from beneath the stage dressed like her own version of Wonder Woman and shot up into the air twirling around to "Artificial" before gravity pulled her back down to the ground for "Chained to the Rhythm."
In true Perry fashion, there was no shortage of colorful lights, laser beams, crazy costumes and fan interactions. At one point, Perry stole a fan's cell phone and began capturing footage around the stage.
"Congratulations, sweetheart! That's three days of content," she said as she tried to locate the phone's rightful owner in the crowd.
But the night was extra special for the California native, who opened up about her early days trying to make it in the industry in Los Angeles.
"My home for nearly 23 years!" Perry said, adding it was her first time ever playing the Forum. "You know it's gonna be a good show!"
While this was not Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, Perry did celebrate some of her own eras, including some of her biggest female anthems in one set. "Woman's World" and "California Gurls" got the crowd jumping up and down as Perry occasionally flew through the air and twirled in a cage. She also jumped on top of a giant flower for "Hot N Cold."
While most of the evening was upbeat with some of her biggest hits like "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" and "I Kissed a Girl," she took a moment to address her personal life — without naming names.
'You guys want me to sing 'Not Like the Movies' at this time in my life?' she asked the crowd, appearing to reference her recent split from fiancé Orlando Bloom.
Perry was previously married to Russell Brand, whom she told the crowd she wrote the song after, calling it "my first divorce." She admitted she was going to try to sing it and not cry, even though it was only a week before her period.
After making it through the clearly emotional ballad, Perry couldn't help but thank her parents for all they've done for her. Reminiscing on stories from when her debit card declined at Chateau Marmont after friends suggested splitting the bill when Perry had a side salad and water, she thanked them for always covering her overdraft fees and brought her dad on stage.
"Dad! You're on stage! I think for the very first time ever with me, right?" Perry said holding her father's hand alongside other fans she brought up. Her parents were seated in a private section alongside Lance Bass and his husband, Michael Turchin.
While her mother stayed back for the special moment, Perry made it a point to bring her up during "All the Love," a song she wrote for her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, who turns 5 in August.
Related:
"I became a mother five years ago, and it was the best decision of my life," Perry said, adding that her daughter was hopefully sleeping.
Perry did not miss a beat on the dance floor, even taking the guitar for "Teary Eyes."
In true fashion, though, the best was saved for last, with Perry fighting off all the bad guys during "E.T." and "Rise" before a quick outfit change to hop on a butterfly for "Roar." As confetti and streamers rained during "Firework," it was clear Perry was happy to be home, playing the city she called her favorite.
If you are a die-hard fan, the Klub 143 experience is a must. For approximately $1,069 a ticket, you'll be so close to the singer you could actually catch a drop of sweat. With a private bar and special floor access, Perry's presence really is hypnotizing during the two-hour show that consists of 24 of her best songs.

Brad Pitt's Mom Jane Etta Pitt Dead At 84
Brad Pitt's Mom Jane Etta Pitt Dead At 84 originally appeared on Parade. Brad Pitt is mourning the loss of his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who has passed away at the age of 84. Sources close to the family confirmed to TMZ on Wednesday, August 6, that Jane died within the past couple of days. One of Jane's granddaughters, Sidney Pitt, also posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. 'My sweet Grammy, Jane Etta, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier.,' Sidney began her caption. She elaborated on how her 'Grammy' taught her strength, how to paint, and kindness. She told childhood stories, and how her grandmother believed in 'doing good simply because it was the right thing to do.' Brad, 60, was said to be especially tight with his mother, often crediting her as the emotional cornerstone of their family. Jane worked as a family counselor and generally stayed out of the public eye, though she did attend several red carpets along with Brad's father, William Pitt, to support her son throughout his career. Jane shared a decades-long love story with her husband that began at Oklahoma Baptist University, where the two first met, according to PEOPLE. They tied the knot in 1962 and welcomed Brad soon after. The young family eventually moved from Oklahoma to Tulsa before settling in Springfield, Missouri — the city where Brad and his younger siblings, Doug and Julie, would grow up. In addition to her husband and three children, Jane also leaves behind 14 grandchildren. At this time, her cause of death is unknown. Katy and Justin? Pamela and Liam? Astrology Might Be the Reason for Hollywood's Surprising New Pairings
When pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau were spotted meandering around Montreal together last week, people on the internet lost their minds, wondering: Could these two actually be dating? But here at AstroTwins HQ, we took a different approach: celestial sleuthing. After all, we needed to know what in the astrology is going on these days that could contribute to such a duo. Turns out, there's an easy answer for this attraction; Mercury, the hot gossip planet, is retrograde from July 18 to August 11. And it's backing up through celebrity-loving, romantic Leo, which might explain why couples are bubbling up in the most DeuxMoi-worthy pairings. It turns out Perry (a Scorpio) has a thing for Capricorns, which happens to be the sun sign of both Trudeau and her ex Orlando Bloom. This is not at all shocking on paper. Water sign Scorpio and earth sign Capricorn have a natural affinity for one another, especially since both signs crave power and status. But a pop star and a politician? That's a combo we didn't see coming. Since Bloom and Perry share a moon sign—Scorpio—their relationship made a bit more sense according to the stars. In astrology, the moon represents one's emotional nature, comforts, and desires. Moon in Scorpio? That can bring intense chemistry—strong enough to keep a California songstress and English actor together for nearly a decade. Trudeau's moon in Aries can be equally dynamic with Perry's Scorpio moon, but with some flags. Where Perry's watery Scorpio moon longs for deep, enduring bonds, her Canadian crush has a very different temperament. Aries, a fire sign, is impulsive, take-charge, and easily bored. Their varying needs can make for a challenging adventure. Specifically, she might want the kind of reassurance he may not be able to give her from a distance. He might want a more readily available plus-one who doesn't need to hop an international flight for a date night. We'll just have to wait and see if this dual-citizenship dalliance evolves into years of canoodling in Quebec. Another surprise celeb mashup delivered by Mercury retrograde is that of Cancer Pamela Anderson and Gemini Liam Neeson, who have been promoting their new movie, Naked Gun, while looking quite 'smitten' with each other. As next-door neighbor signs, Cancer and Gemini don't have a ton in common—and therein lies the magic of this pairing. People-loving Geminis like Neeson are the toast of the town, while sensitive Cancers like Anderson can happily tuck away at home. In 2020, the Baywatch alum sold her Malibu mansion and moved back to her home of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where she's been gardening and canning like a full-on homesteader ever since. The two also have a highly compatible match with their moons in fire signs. Neeson's philosophical Sagittarius moon guarantees that he's always up for travel and adventure. Unlike our prediction for Katy Perry, we could see him making regular trips across the Canadian border this year. His lunar profile pairs perfectly with Anderson's Aries moon, which is active, curious, and always game to explore new topics of interest. No doubt they've both made the other's world feel a lot bigger and full of exciting possibilities. Another coupling that has Hollywood watching on is Cancer Tom Cruise and Taurus Ana de Armas, who met while working together. Astrologically, this match happens often. Traditional types who are more private than showy, both Cancer and Taurus like to keep the home fires burning. Plus, this is not the Mission: Impossible actor's first relationship with a brunette Bull babe. From 2001 to 2004, he had a high-profile romance with his Vanilla Sky co-star Penélope Cruz. And just like with all duos, remember: relationships can defy astrology—at least during the smitten stage. Still, astrologers know better than to place any big bets on celebrity news that breaks during Mercury retrograde. When the planet of information corrects course on August 11, we expect the view to become a whole lot clearer. For now, the popcorn is popping, and the paparazzi are in position. Even if a feature film doesn't get the green light, we're all enjoying the previews.
