Paris Hilton Would Like to Be an Art Teacher

Yahoo15-05-2025

In ELLE's series Office Hours, we ask people in powerful positions to take us through their first jobs, worst jobs, and everything in between. This month, we spoke with Paris Hilton. You may know her from the early aughts reality show The Simple Life and coining iconic phrases like 'That's hot,' but Hilton is also a mother, entrepreneur, and child's rights advocate through her nonprofit organization, 11:11 Media Impact. While the world once watched her quit a job by saying, 'Bye gorgeous,' the multi-hyphenate is now dispensing her actual best (and worst) career advice, plus the impetus behind her new skin care line, Parívie, launching May 19.
I moved to New York City as a teenager and was a model. I loved walking in all the runway shows, shooting campaigns, and meeting people like David LaChapelle and creating incredible art with him. It was just so much fun to move from LA, where I had lived this very sheltered life, to New York City to follow my dreams.
Being a mom. I've done and accomplished so much in my life that I'm proud of, but being a mom is the most fulfilling job that there is.
On The Simple Life, when Nicole [Richie] and I worked at this dairy farm. It was the first job that we had when we moved to Arkansas for the show. It was really a lot. It made me never want to drink milk again. Getting the milk from cows is pretty gross, so that's why I drink oat milk.
An art teacher. I love art, so I think that it would be a lot of fun to teach an arts and crafts class. I guess I do already. It's not like a school, but when the kids come over with their cousins, I'll do art days. We'll paint together, glue little cute things, and make collages. I just love being around kids, and I love art.
My grandmother always instilled so much confidence in me and made me believe in myself. She told me to never dim my sparkle, to always go for my dreams, and to work hard. Being around her made me the woman that I am today.
My mom told me not to do The Simple Life. My parents and Nicole's parents both told us not to do it. It was like the first reality show, so she didn't know what to expect. Then the night after the show ran, my mom called me and said, 'You know, I'm never wrong, but [I was]. The show is the most hilarious and amazing [thing] I've ever watched. I'm so proud of you girls.'
I have always been obsessed with skin care. I've tried every single type of product. I wanted to create something that really worked, that had a whole system with incredible ingredients, perfect texture, but was also backed by science with amazing results. In my career, I've always been 10 steps ahead, so I wanted to put all of that into creating the skin care line of my dreams.
I built a spa in my house called the Sliving Spa. I have all of the most high-end, medical-grade equipment like hyperbaric chambers, cryotherapy chambers, red light therapy beds, and Hydrafacial machines. It's epic, and it's all pink. Then we have Parívie all over as well. It's a place that I love to go to relax and just get ready, because I'm constantly on and working every single day.
This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.

52 Hilarious Fails That I Can't Help But Laugh At

Well, they're not wrong. I didn't know the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series had a holiday film! Insert *YOU TRIED* sticker. This isn't the Star Wars I is that E.T.? This was an honest mistake. Oops — sorry, Mr. McEldroon. I MEAN, anonymous... That had to be an awkward conversation. Austin??? Is that you? If I were the tooth fairy, I'd give this kid extra money for his frankness. Double-check your links, everyone! NBD — everyone will just think you're a big fan of the band! WHAT is safe??? (It's supposed to say "pork.") Finally, a spot for everyone straddling an exercise ball! This could happen to anyone! Who designed this??? There was probably a better way to convey this. This is what happens now that today's kids didn't live through 9/11! Well, that cut off at the worst possible spot. Or the best spot, depending how you look at it. I didn't realize an accent could be sexist! NEWS: Thomas the Tank Engine has been cast in Avengers: Doomsday! Who thought this was a good idea??? You're telling me no one saw an issue with this sign??? Or this one? That's a funny-looking whale! Ah, yes, the perfect moment for a push notification! This could've used a proofread!!! Honestly, you deserve this for what Britain did to India. The cake decorator's brain was simply not firing on all cylinders. Neither was this person's. Or this person's. He does have a point. Let this be a lesson to *always* double-check who you're sending your nudes to. This is every teenager's worst nightmare. At least she seemed chill about it? The look on the cat's face screams, "You'll pay for this, human." Time to break out the spoons! I feel bad for this poor guy, but his expression is hilarious. This person was NOT reading the Harry Potter I remember. The fanfic is apparently called Harry Potter and the Psychic Serpent, and it was a trilogy. Apparently, you could download it in a big file where the first four books were word-for-word the same as the real ones, and then things diverged in the fifth. Oh, and it was also apparently pretty good! I'm not sure that was the look she had in mind... The price probably should've tipped him off. Hmmm, that's not how I remember it... Nothing like a taco shell tortilla! BrilDag sounds better than birthday, anyway! How do you even make this mistake? Finally, a church I'm interested in joining! Would you like some ketchup with that? I know I'm about to say something controversial, so bear with me here...I don't think that's a violin. How dumb can you be? Might as well bleach the whole thing pink at this point! I see no issue here! Or here! And finally, this fail is actually really wholesome.

Lindsay Lohan Says 'Freaky Friday' Sequel Is a ‘Love Letter' to Iconic Movie House that Burned Down

The Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, hits theaters on Aug. 8 During an interview with Elle, Lohan said the film is "such an homage" to California and pays tribute to her character's home from the 2003 film The real home was destroyed in the deadly wildfires that swept through Los Angeles earlier this yearFreakier Friday is sentimental for Lindsay Lohan in more ways than one. Ahead of the highly-anticipated Freaky Friday sequel hitting theaters on Aug. 8, Lohan, 38, opened up to Chloe Fineman for a May 27 interview with Elle about filming the upcoming movie in Los Angeles. The actress — who stars in the remake of the 2003 classic alongside Jamie Lee Curtis — told Fineman that the sequel feels like a tribute to the areas impacted by the tragic wildfires that swept through L.A. in January. The property that was used as her character Anna Coleman's home in the original movie sadly burned down during the natural disaster. 'The film is such an homage to California after the fires, because we shot a lot in the Palisades and in Malibu,' Lohan said. 'Even the house — the original Freaky Friday house — unfortunately, is gone. So I think it'll be a really nice love letter.' The Palisades Fire was the first wildfire to erupt on Jan. 7, and it wasn't fully contained until Jan. 31 along with the Eaton Fire. The deadly blaze burned approximately 23,448 acres, according to CAL FIRE, and the cause is still under investigation. In response to Fineman asking if it felt 'special' to be back filming in L.A., Lohan responded: 'Yeah. For the crew, they're so excited to be working here, where they go back home to their families. That's the difference you feel here. It's nice.' Referring to her son Luai, whom she welcomed in 2023 with husband Bader Shammas, she added, 'I made it home every night, except for one, to tuck my son in. And it shows in the film — when you're happy behind the scenes, that comes through.' Fans will officially get to see Freakier Friday in theaters this August, 22 years after the first movie premiered. 2023's Freaky Friday is a remake of the 1976 film of the same name starring Jodie Foster. A number of familiar faces will be returning for the sequel, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. Some new faces will also be added to the franchise, including Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons. Read the original article on People

Kevin Costner Still Pining for Jewel After Rumored Romance: ‘She Has Other Priorities'

Kevin Costner and '90s folk-pop queen Jewel's rumored romance may have fizzled out a while ago, but he remains a huge admirer of her music, and he's looking forward to being front and center at her upcoming performances whilst quietly hoping it'll lead to more, Life & Style has exclusively learned. "Kevin's big miscalculation in his ongoing attempts to woo Jewel is his failing to understand that she isn't done yet, and she's certainly not in any frame of mind where she would want to be arm candy,' a source exclusively tells Life & Style. 'You talk to Jewel for five minutes and it becomes very clear that she still has a lot she wants to do with her music career and writing, and she still longs to win a Grammy after being nominated four times during her heyday.' The insider also makes it clear that the 'Who Will Save Your Soul' singer, 50, 'has other priorities ahead of finding a new romantic relationship.' 'For all of Kevin's lofty talk about his own musical ambitions, he is still not much more than an amateur while Jewel is undeniably a seasoned pro. It took a while for Kevin to really understand this, but he remains in awe of her talent and supportive of her career, even from a distance,' the source explains to Life & Style. 'He would have loved to collaborate with her and even date her, but he has to resign himself to being her number one fan instead, because she still has a lot of mountains she wants to climb herself!" Kevin, 70, and Jewel maintained a low-key romance after they sparked dating rumors in November 2023, seven months after the Yellowstone alum and ex-wife Christine Baumgartner separated. They finalized their divorce in February 2024. The pair met while participating in a pro-am tennis tournament at billionaire Richard Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands. 'Kevin looked handsome, tan and fit. All the guests were going crazy over him,' a source told In Touch in December 2023. 'He really hit it off with Jewel.' The insider told the outlet that the pair were seated next to each other at a dinner and were 'laughing and chatting' and 'looked like they were having a lot of fun.' Chatter about Jewel and Kevin's romance continued to make headlines in the following months, leading the musician to address the speculation during an April 2024 interview with Elle. 'He's a great person,' Jewel told the publication, who noted that she was 'blushing' while talking about the Bodyguard actor. 'The public fascination is intense for sure.' Later that month, In Touch reported that Jewel was a positive aspect in Kevin's life during his nasty divorce battle with Christine, 51. 'Jewel's been through divorce too [with ex-husband Ty Murray], though not in such a public way as Kevin. The media interest in her romance with Kevin isn't something she's used to, but she's handled it remarkably well,' the second insider told the outlet. 'She's not someone who caters to the spotlight. She can turn it off. Her focus is on keeping her life as normal as possible. She sees Kevin for the sensitive, caring soul he is.' Kevin, for his part, addressed the dating rumors during a candid interview with Howard Stern in June 2024, claiming their relationship was strictly platonic while still singing her praises. 'No, Jewel and I are friends. We've never gone out, ever,' he said at the time. 'She's special, and I don't want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that's what we have. She's special to me. She's beautiful enough to go out with.'
