A U.K. version of Saturday Night Live will premiere on British TV network Sky Max next year, NBC and Sky announced. It will film in London and will feature the same format as the American version, with a celebrity guest host, a musical guest, and sketches featuring the ensemble cast. The cast has not been set yet. Lorne Michaels will executive-produce. It follows several other international SNL editions, including Germany, Spain, Italy, China, Japan, South Korea, and Egypt.

Netflix's upcoming limited series adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved romance novel Pride and Prejudice has confirmed its lead cast. Emmy nominee Emma Corrin (The Crown) will play Elizabeth Bennet, Emmy nominee Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) will play Mr. Darcy, and Academy Award winner Olivia Colman (The Favourite) will play Mrs. Bennet. Lowden's casting was reported earlier this week. The series is being adapted by Dolly Alderton and is scheduled to shoot later this year.
Amazon is placing an order for pig's blood. Prime Video has greenlit a series adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror novel Carrie from creator Mike Flanagan. It will be horror maestro Flanagan's fourth King adaptation and first series for Prime Video. He will executive produce, write, and direct multiple episodes.
Jason Ning (Lucifer) and Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, Battlestar Galactica) are developing a series adaptation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for Sony Television and Prime Video. The historical martial arts drama is based on a 20th century novel series by Wang Dulu. It will follow "Shu Lien and Mu Bai, two star-crossed warriors, as they struggle between forbidden love and the pull of modernity — caught between preserving their way of life or embracing a future together." Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was previously adapted by director Ang Lee in 2000; that film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, the most ever by a film not in English at that time.
AMC ordered a third season of Mayfair Witches, the horror drama based on the novel series by Anne Rice. Better Call Saul executive producer Thomas Schnauz is joining as co-showrunner alongside co-creator Esta Spalding. The new season will move the action to the classically witchy town of Salem, Mass. Mayfair Witches stars White Lotus Emmy nominee Alexandra Daddario, Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels.
Elizabeth Chambers, television personality and ex-wife of disgraced actor Armie Hammer, will host Toxic, an Investigation Discovery docuseries exploring tales of traumatic relationships — including her own. Hammer was accused of sexual and emotional abuse by multiple women in 2021; he denies the claims. Chambers and Hammer separated in 2020 and divorced in 2023. 'When it comes to toxic relationships, no one is immune,' Chambers says in the teaser. The series streams on Max on May 5.
