Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut cancels 2025 event over ‘circumstances beyond our control'
Connecticut's popular Soundside Music Festival shocked fans when it abruptly cancelled its star-studded event two months before its opening day.
'Due to circumstances beyond our control, [the] Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled,' organizers announced in a statement on the festival's official website on Friday. 'Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank's processing time.'

Festival organizers didn't go into detail about what caused the cancellation.
Thomas Gaudett, the chief administrative officer for Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, alleged the festival was having trouble selling tickets, according to the CT Insider.

'It's our understanding that this year's lineup was drawing a lot fewer attendees than we have seen in the last few years,' Gaudett told the outlet. 'And that may have had an impact on the decision to cancel.'
The cancellation allegedly blindsided Bridgeport officials, who insisted the city was 'not involved in the decision-making process' and were told the project was being pulled after the decision was 'finalized,' the outlet added.
The Post reached out to the festival for comment.
4 The festival already announced its lineup before the event was cancelled.

The festival was originally scheduled for Sept. 27 and 28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. It had already announced a massive lineup of alternative and electronic dance artists, including The Killers, Weezer, Hozier, Vampire Weekend, Alex Warren, and DJO.
The festival wiped its social media accounts, including its Instagram and Facebook pages, which had over 52,000 combined followers after the announcement.
Fans have complained about ticket prices in recent months, according to a public Facebook fan page for the festival.

General admission for a single-day ticket to the festival started at $170, according to the Soundside Music Festival's now-deleted ticket page.
'Maybe if they weren't so greedy with the high ticket cost there would have been higher volume of tickets sold,' one Facebook user speculated on the fan page.
'I personally wasn't into the lineup this year, but everyone has different taste,' another added.
4 The Killers were scheduled to headline on Saturday.

Last year, the festival had record attendance, with 57,000 concertgoers swarming the waterfront festival — despite the Foo Fighters dropping out late, according to the CT Post. Officials had expected 32,000 people to show up.
The Foo Fighters withdrew from the headlining gig after frontman Dave Grohl revealed that he cheated on his wife, Jordyn Blum, and welcomed a daughter outside of his marriage.
Previous headliners included John Mayer, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks and Dave Matthews.
The inaugural Sound on Sound festival, which was eventually rebranded as the Soundside Music Festival last year, took place in 2022 and was produced by Governor's Ball producers Tom Russell and Jordan Wolowitz, Live Nation, and developer Howard Saffan, according to CT Insider.

Tyrese Haliburton's rehab will include wedding planning as he gets engaged to long-time girlfriend
Tyrese Haliburton will have no problem staying busy while he recovers from an Achilles tendon tear. Among other things, he'll be planning a wedding. The Indiana Pacers two-time All-NBA point guard posted pictures and video to his Instagram account Monday of his proposal this weekend to long-time girlfriend Jade Jones. The two met at Iowa State where Haliburton played his college ball and Jones was a cheerleader, so Haliburton carried out the proposal there at halfcourt of Hilton Coliseum. Haliburton had the lights in the arena turned off but big light-up letters at center court spelling out "Will You Marry Me" with rose petals in front of the letters. He got down on one knee despite the fact that he's still in a walking boot. The scooter he's been getting around on is in the shot. Haliburton also posted photos after the engagement of the two on campus. He captioned the post "The place where our story started and where our next chapter begins."

Congratulations Pouring In For Sophie Cunningham Monday, 'So Cool'
Congratulations Pouring In For Sophie Cunningham Monday, 'So Cool' originally appeared on The Spun. Sophie Cunningham might not be one of the best players in the WNBA in 2025, but she's quickly become one of the most popular on social media. The former University of Missouri guard, who spent the first six years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury, is now Caitlin Clark's teammate in Indiana. That has been very good for her social media profile. Cunningham, who served as Clark's "enforcer" in a game against the Connecticut Sun earlier this season, has blown up on social media. Cunningham has more than 1.1 million followers on social media. She's landed some impressive endorsements as a result of her following, too, including Ring and Adidas. Over the weekend, Cunningham announced the latest endorsement deal. It's a cool one. Cunningham teamed up with fast food restaurant Arby's for a cool endorsement deal. "look who has the meats now #ArbysPartner," she wrote on her Instagram page to her 1.1 million followers. Congratulations are pouring in for Cunningham, who's landed yet another national endorsement deal. It's a cool opportunity for the former University of Missouri grad to grow her brand. "Soooo good omg 😩😩😩," one fan wrote. "SHE HAS THE MEATS," her teammate, Lexie Hull, joked on social media. "Iconic 😂😍👏," one fan added. "Beautiful Sophie. Nice win ❤️," one fan added. "HS us would be so proud!!!! WE HAVE THE MEATSSS," one fan added. "That's actually a really funny and fitting partnership," another fan added. "Better her get paid this way … cuz we know the WNBA ain't cutting it," another fan added. "😂👏❤️Te amo Sofía!! 😂 you're the best !" one fan added. It's cool to see that national brands are taking chances on WNBA players, especially considering that they're making such little money in terms of contracts. Most WNBA players are making around $100,000 - if that. Clark's rookie contract is for $70,000 per season. Arby's is likely playing up to work with Cunningham - and the brand is probably finding out that it is very much worth it.
