Phoenix Suns resting Khaman Maluach, three more players in NBA Summer League finale
The Suns (1-3) have lost their past three games in Vegas while the Blazers are 3-1 through four games.
Second-round pick Rasheer Fleming is set to play. He missed the first two games with right knee soreness, but has played the past two. He's scored seven points in each game.
Fleming will get the start along with Boogie Ellis, Khalif Battle, Moses Wood and CJ Huntley.
Ighodaro played in the first four games for the Suns, averaging 12.3 points on 57.1% shooting and 8.5 rebounds.
Dunn, Maluach and Brea have each seen action in three games. Dunn has led the team in scoring at 14.7 points a game. Shooting 48.5% from the field, Dunn has made 37.5% of his 3s.
Dunn appeared to hurt his left foot or ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday's loss to Minnesota, but played through it in the fourth.
Maluach, the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft, is averaging 10 points on 35.7% shooting in Vegas. The 7-footer averaged 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 shots a game.
Brea sat out Wednesday with a left thumb sprain after injuring it Phoenix's previous game against Atlanta. The second-round pick averaged 12 points, shooting 42.9% from 3 in his three games.

Mavericks hire Ethan Casson in new role as president under CEO Rick Welts
DALLAS (AP) — The Dallas Mavericks hired Ethan Casson in a new role as president Tuesday, giving CEO Rick Welts someone to handle daily operations on the business side while he focuses on the franchise's plans for a new arena. Casson was most recently CEO of the Minnesota Timberwolves along with the WNBA's Lynx and the G-League's Iowa Wolves. He served in that role for nine years. The addition of Casson comes seven months after Welts came out of retirement to replace Cynt Marshall, who was hired by then-owner Mark Cuban in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal in the business office of the Mavericks. Cuban sold his majority interest in the club to the Las Vegas-based Adelson and Dumont families in late 2023. Patrick Dumont took over as the team's governor, with Cuban keeping a minority stake and becoming alternate governor. 'The Mavericks are committed to being an elite professional sports franchise, and fundamental to that goal is adding top-tier executives like Ethan Casson to our senior management team,' Dumont said. Welts has said the club hopes to open a new arena in 2031. In his previous role with Golden State, Welts spearheaded the plan that moved the Warriors across the bay to San Francisco from Oakland. The Mavericks share American Airlines Center with the NHL's Dallas Stars, and Welts has said the NBA club anticipates going solo with a new arena. Welts has said the Mavs want the new arena to be in Dallas rather than one of the suburbs. Before joining the Timberwolves, Casson was CEO of the San Francisco 49ers when the NFL franchise made the move to Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara from Candlestick Park. Casson struck the naming rights deal with Levi's. 'He will be my partner in charting the team into the future and will allow me to devote more time to our strategic priorities, including the building of our new arena and entertainment district in Dallas, and our transition from a basketball organization to a sports and entertainment company operating our own venue,' Welts said. ___ AP NBA:

Sean Payton: Dre Greenlaw plays like Mike Tyson
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw made the most of the first day in pads at Broncos training camp. Greenlaw filled gaps and delivered hits throughout team drills in Denver and head coach Sean Payton said you didn't even have to be watching to know that Greenlaw was the one landing blows. Payton said "you can hear it" when Greenlaw makes a hit and then went on to compare his style to another knockout artist from a different sport. "He plays like Mike Tyson," Payton said, via the team's website. "He's tough, he's physical. He's built that way. There's not a lot of leaky yardage. Some guys [allow that]. He's a knock-back tackler. They stop where he hits them. There's an intensity to how he plays. He's one of those players that if you put the film on and didn't say anything, at some point early, you'd ask, 'Who is this guy?'" Greenlaw was limited to two games for the 49ers last year because of injuries and a quad injury interrupted his first offseason in Denver, so one key for the Broncos will be making sure Greenlaw's healthy enough to deploy that physicality on a regular basis. If he is, facing an already tough Broncos defense will be even less enjoyable for opposing offenses in 2025.

Commanders put OL Nate Herbig on reserve/retired list
Veteran offensive lineman Nate Herbig is walking away from football. Herbig signed with the Commanders this offseason, but the team announced on Tuesday morning that he has been placed on the team's reserve/retired list. He will no longer count against the team's 90-man roster limit. Herbig spent the last two seasons with the Steelers, but did not play at all in 2024 after a rotator cuff injury. Herbig appeared in 17 games for the Steelers in 2023 and he started 11 games at guard for the Jets in 2022. The Eagles signed Herbig as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and he started 17 of the 33 games he played while with Philadelphia. Nick Allegretti and Chris Paul remain on hand as depth options at guard in Washington.
