Lincolnshire cat owner horrified after pet 'shaved in attack'
Mrs Field said the attack on her cat, which is three years old, had left the animal "very, very subdued" and needing to be "persuaded to come for food".She said: "He didn't want to come near anybody, which is very out of character because he normally comes, jumps on my lap and loves a cuddle."It felt like he was shying away from everyone in case they were going to hurt him."Mrs Field also said that she thought more than one person would have been involved because her pet would have "wiggled and run away if he wasn't held down".Similar attacks were reported on other pets in Pinchbeck, near Spalding, and Kirton, near Boston, in February. It is not known if the incidents are linked.

RSPCA appeal after newborn kittens left like 'rubbish' in Neath
Six new-born kittens were found inside plastic bags on the side of a lane, with only one Cymru said the six black and ginger kittens were "moving and making sounds" that suggested they had possibly be born "even that same day".The charity's Animal Rescue Officer Ethan Griffin said the animals were left "as if they were rubbish" on Rectory Road, in Neath, on 27 July."Unfortunately, only one kitten has survived. We're crossing our fingers he keeps on doing well and would like to thank those caring for the kittens," he added. RSPCA Cymru said it was appealing for information to find out where the kittens came Griffin said: "We're extremely grateful to the person who took these poor kittens to a vet for immediate assistance. They were found wet and freezing and must have been so frightened." He said the kittens were inside the bag with "fluids from being birthed on them" which suggested they had been born were given around the clock care by the vets but sadly five of the kittens Griffin said the remaining kitten "has some fight in it and has pulled through.""We're crossing our fingers he keeps on doing well and would like to thank those caring for the kittens for their dedication and kindness," he added."We have been making enquiries but we don't know where they came from or what has happened. "We'd urge anyone with first hand evidence about them to call the RSPCA's inspectorate line."

Woman to face court over deaths of young brothers in Sutton on Sea crash
A woman is to appear in court charged with causing the deaths of two young brothers who were travelling with her when she was involved in a crash nearly two years ago. Eight-year-old Louie Ellis and Mason Ellis, aged six, died after the collision on the A52 between Sandilands and Huttoft, near Sutton on Sea, Lincolnshire, on 2 October 2023. Their four-year-old brother was also injured but survived. The boys were rear seat passengers in a Vauxhall Astra that was involved in a collision with an Audi, Lincolnshire Police said at the time. The driver of the Astra, 29-year-old Amy Sheppard, of Mumby Road, Huttoft, is accused of two offences of causing death by careless driving. She is also accused of causing serious injury by careless driving to three others in the two cars. Ms Sheppard has been summonsed to appear at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on 28 August 2025. Following their deaths Mablethorpe Primary Academy paid tribute to the brothers, saying the school was "truly devastated by this tragic news".
