Temba Bavuma's South Africa faces Pat Cummins' Australia in the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) Final that starts on Wednesday at Lord's. This is the third edition of the marquee Test match and Australia are the defending champions. They are already the holders of the ODI World Cup and have won almost every major trophy on offer in cricket. South Africa, on the other hand, will be looking to put the infamous tag of 'chokers' behind them with a win.
Marnus Labuschagne has moved up the order for Australia to become Usman Khawaja's latest opening batter. Cameron Green, who is set to play as a specialist batter, takes his No.3 spot. The 19-year-old specialist opener Sam Konstas was left out and Travis Head, preferred in Sri Lanka in February, will drop back to No. 5 in the order.
South Africa gave Lungi Ngidi's experience the edge over Dane Paterson as the third seamer. Ngidi hasn't played a test since August but 19 tests and 55 wickets, including Joe Root's at Lord's in 2022, put him in the pace attack with Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen. Paterson, more deceptive than fast, earned five-fors in his last two tests against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in December and played at Lord's three times in the last two months for Middlesex in the English County Championship second division but that wasn't enough.

"Sachin Tendulkar Should Play Little Faster": Ex-India Star Reveals Intriguing Chat With Rahul Dravid

RP Singh has been part of several big campaigns for the Indian cricket teams. The left-arm pacer played 14 Tests, 58 ODIs and 10 T20Is at a time when Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid were still active cricketers. RP has seen the two cricketers up close and recently narrated an interesting incident on the two. "There was a Ranji Trophy match going on in Meerut, Karnataka vs Uttar Pradesh. Rahul Dravid bhai had come to play and scored 199 runs. That night, we went to dinner at someone's house. India's match was going on that day, and Sachin paaji was batting. He was playing a run-a-ball innings. We were both sitting on the side, and people were saying, 'Sachin should play a little faster.' But he was playing according to the situation of the match. Rahul bhai whispered in my ear, 'If they are saying so much to him, then how much would they have said to me?'" RP Singh said on JioHotstar special 'Cheeky Singles'. Rudra Pratap Singh also recalled the moment when a fan tossed a cake towards him and asked him to cut it during India's victory parade in Mumbai after the fabled T20 World Cup title victory in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007. More than seventeen years ago, India etched their names in the history books by lifting the inaugural T20 World Cup title in front of a jam-packed crowd at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Under Mumbai's gloomy sky, India held an open bus victory parade, and fans turned up in numbers to welcome the crowned champions. The 39-year-old shared a less-heard story that took place during the moment of jubilation. "We won the T20 World Cup in South Africa, celebrated there, and then landed in Dubai, where a few people congratulated us for lifting the trophy. When we finally landed in Mumbai, we thought we had achieved something special, but the celebration parade was beyond anything I had imagined," RP Singh said in the latest episode of "The roads were closed, and people were throwing things, chocolates, and even a small cake that someone tossed towards me saying, 'Please hold it and cut it.' I told them, 'Don't do this, it might fall.' It was raining, yet the crowds' energy was electric, with people celebrating wildly alongside us," he added. In the final, it was India's arch-rival, Pakistan, who stood as the final hurdle between MS Dhoni 's side and the coveted title. In a nerve-wracking thriller, a collective effort from the players got India across the line, crowning them as the first team to clinch the title. He played a pivotal role in steering India to the famed title. Rudra Pratap spearheaded India's lethal pace attack and concluded the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker with 12 scalps. He announced his international retirement in 2018 after making 82 appearances for India across all formats and scythed 124 wickets.

"I've Been Mistaken For Rohit Sharma, George Clooney": Ex-India Star's Big Revelation

In a lighthearted conversation, former India pacer Rudra Pratap Singh, who was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning side, revealed he has been mistaken for other well-known personalities, including India ODI captain Rohit Sharma. The 39-year-old, who represented India in 14 Tests, 58 ODIs and 10 T20Is, made the revelation while speaking on JioHotstar special 'Cheeky Singles'. Singh also recalled that a fan once likened him to Hollywood actor George Clooney, sparking a laughing riot in the studio. "I've been mistaken for Rohit Sharma on several occasions, not just once, but many times. And it doesn't stop there. Someone even called me 'George Clooney' once on social media. I told them, 'Now that's too much!'," recalled Singh. Singh took 12 wickets in seven games, as MS Dhoni -led India won the first-ever T20 World Cup in South Africa in September 2007. "We won the T20 World Cup in South Africa, celebrated there, and then landed in Dubai, where a few people congratulated us for lifting the trophy. When we finally landed in Mumbai, we thought we had achieved something special, but the celebration parade was beyond anything I had imagined." I told them, 'Don't do this, it might fall.' It was raining, yet the crowds' energy was electric, with people celebrating wildly alongside us," he added. He also recounted a memorable moment from a Ranji Trophy match between Karnataka and his state team Uttar Pradesh in Meerut, involving the legendary Rahul Dravid. Speaking on JioHotstar, Arne Slot praised Diogo Jota's achievements over the past year: 'He was a champion for his family, which is the most important thing. He was a champion for his country, winning the Nations League for a nation he loves [Portugal] and cares deeply about. And he was a champion for us by helping win the Premier League.' More from Football Klopp, on the other hand, paid tribute to Jota by recalling the importance he had in the team. 'Diogo was an incredibly important player for us. Slot expressed his admiration for Jota as both a player and a person: 'I think his parents and Rute [Jota's wife – Rute Cardoso] can be extremely proud of the player and the person he was. He always stayed true to himself, and they should — and will — be very proud.'
