Minister Kondapalli criticises YSRCP
Speaking to media on Tuesday, the minister said, 'Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who is responsible for the atrocities of the past five years, is now preaching morality.'
He denounced Sakshi Media for its ongoing 'poisoning' of Amaravati, referencing a recent debate where senior journalist Krishnam Raju's comments exposed the true intentions of YSRCP leaders.
The minister demanded strong action from both the Central and State government to prevent future derogatory comments against women. He alleged that the YSRCP fears the rapid development of Amaravati and Polavaram, leading them to resort to 'cheap remarks' and then shamelessly defend their actions.
'Labelling those who question their mistakes as 'hybrids' reveals their demonic mentality,' he added. He also contrasted the recent arrest with YSRCP's past actions, recalling the arrests of 74-year-old Kollu Anka Babu and the 80-plus-year-old Ranganayakamma for sharing information on WhatsApp during YSRCP's rule. 'YSRCP seems to think people have forgotten their past misdeeds,' he quipped.
Minister Srinivas affirmed the government's respect for journalists but cautioned that those using the profession to conspire against Amaravati would not be tolerated. He reiterated the TDP's commitment to respecting women, regardless of their political affiliation, while condemning the derogatory remarks made against women in Amaravati. He concluded by suggesting that these 'diversionary politics' are a desperate attempt by YSRCP to evade their own corruption scandals.

Pulivendula ZPTC bypoll becomes prestige issue for TDP, YSRCP
Tirupati: It's a small by-election, but with high stakes. The Pulivendula zilla parishad territorial constituency (ZPTC) bypoll in Kadapa district has become a battle for political supremacy between the ruling TDP-led NDA alliance and the opposition YSRCP, with both groups leaving no stone unturned to win the prestige battle as polling day (Aug 12) approaches. Pulivendula is the hometown of former chief ministers YS Rajasekhar Reddy and his son YS Jaganmohan Reddy, while Kadapa is known to be a stronghold of YSRCP. So it is not only a prestige issue to retain the ZPTC seat, YSRCP also wants to reaffirm its firm grip on Pulivendula politics, from where the YS family members have won consecutive assembly elections for over 46 years now. To retain Pulivendula ZPTC seat, which was won by YSRCP leader Maheshwar Reddy in 2021, YSRCP has fielded his son T Hemanth Reddy. Maheshwar Reddy died in Feb 2023 following a freak fall from a bullock cart, which necessitated the bypoll. Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy and YSRCP general secretary S V Satish Reddy, who are spearheading YSRCP's bypoll campaign, are majorly relying on YS family's connect with Pulivendula and the sympathy factor following Maheshwar Reddy's demise, to boost his son Hemanth's winning chances. The TDP-led NDA alliance, which won seven out of 10 assembly seats in Kadapa district, is hell-bent on winning the Pulivendula ZPTC bypoll to make further inroads into Jagan's bastion. TDP has fielded M Latha Reddy, wife of its former MLC Mareddy Ravindra Reddy (B Tech Ravi). The bigwigs of NDA alliance, including MLAs, MLCs, ministers, and MPs are campaigning in Pulivendula to cement the winning prospects of Latha Reddy. Nandyal MP Byreddy Shabari expressed confidence of breaking the myth of Pulivendula being the bastion of Jagan. "He was the chief minister for five years but couldn't manage to bring any development to his own constituency. Unlike the YSRCP regime, TDP rule has benefited every section of the society. People of Pulivendula firmly believe that it is the TDP that can bring development to Pulivendula," the TDP MP said. As many as 11 candidates, including eight independents, have filed nominations to contest the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election. However, the main battle will be between the TDP and YSRCP candidates. Kadapa police remain on high alert following incidents of violence and clashes between the followers of the two parties. Cases have been filed against both TDP and YSRCP leaders, including Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy and his father Y S Bhaskar Reddy. Sunil Yadav, accused in Viveka murder, joins Pulivendula ZPTC bypoll fray
T irupati: Yadati Sunil Yadav, one of the key accused in the murder of former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy, is contesting the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election as an independent candidate. Yadav was released on bail by Telangana high court in Oct last year, after spending nearly three years in jail. He has been named as one of the key accused by the CBI in the sensational crime, which rocked Andhra Pradesh just before the 2019 general elections. After coming out on bail, Yadav, who continues to deny his involvement in the murder and had also expressed his intentions to enter politics, has now filed his nomination to contest the Aug 12 ZPTC bypoll. Yadav, who is pinning his hopes on the anti-YS family sentiment in Pulivendula, has been targeting Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy, who too is a key accused in the murder case as per the CBI chargesheet. In June, Yadav filed a assault complaint against Avinash Reddy's followers. "The Kadapa MP is now complaining about TDP misusing police forces and the election commission to its advantage. Wasn't it the YSRCP which brought in such a culture in the state? Now TDP is dimly giving the YSRCP a taste of its own medicine. There are many families like mine who were left shattered because of YSRCP. I am pinning hopes on their support to win the Pulivendula ZPTC election," Yadav said. YSRCP alleges Rs 3,500 crore liquor scam 'malicious invention' by CM Naidu
Synopsis YSRCP leaders Gurumoorthy and Bharat denounced the Rs 3,500 crore liquor scam as a fabrication by Chief Minister Naidu, alleging it's a political vendetta against YSRCP member Midhun Reddy. They accused the TDP government of silencing opposition and diverting attention from their own alleged corruption. The leaders further claimed TDP engaged in liquor irregularities during 2014-19, causing significant revenue loss. PTI YSRCP leaders M Gurumoorthy and M Bharat on Saturday alleged that the Rs 3,500 crore liquor scam is a "malicious invention" by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking at a press conference in Rajahmundry, they claimed that the case against YSRCP Lok Sabha member PV Midhun Reddy is part of a "political vendetta" aimed at "suppressing dissent and diverting public attention." Gurumoorthy alleged, "The Rs 3,500 crore liquor scam is a malicious invention by Naidu." The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had arrested Midhun Reddy in connection with the alleged scam, which pertains to the previous YSRCP regime. The leaders accused the TDP government of using the liquor scam as a tool to "silence opposition voices" while deflecting scrutiny from the NDA coalition government's alleged corruption. Gurumoorthy condemned the "inhumane denial of basic rights" to Midhun Reddy, including barring his sister from tying a Rakhi during his remand, calling it "utterly despicable politics." He also accused the TDP of liquor irregularities during 2014-19, including bypassing cabinet approvals, waiving an eight percent distillery tax, and causing a revenue loss of Rs 6,500 crore through "favouritism and advance payments." Bharat alleged that Naidu's name has become "synonymous with liquor corruption", pointing to the alleged privatisation of liquor shops, the proliferation of illegal belt shops, and inflated prices generating illicit condemned what they claimed was harassment of YSRCP leaders through "baseless cases" over the past 14 months, alleging that MLAs exploit liquor, land, and sand resources to orchestrate scams in their constituencies for "political gains".Bharat claimed the YSRCP is committed to fighting this "conspiracy" and urged the public to "resist exploitation". He alleged that the TDP-led coalition government's failure to control liquor distribution has "damaged families and communities throughout" the state.
