Gasoline pump prices up, diesel and kerosene down Tuesday, May 27, 2025
In separate advisories, Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.10, while rolling back those of diesel by P0.20, and kerosene by P0.40.
Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 8:01 a.m. the same day.
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.
The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected mixed movements this week, citing reports of progress toward a US-Iran nuclear deal, cooling trade tensions between the US and China, the additional crude oil storage capacity in Iran's Export Terminal, and optimism on global oil demand.
Fuel retailers last week hiked prices per liter of gasoline and kerosene by P1.20 each, and diesel by P1.70. — RSJ, GMA Intgerated News

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. wants a "red carpet treatment" for the GMR Group, a strategic partner of the Sangley Aerocity Project. This was according to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, who is part of Marcos' delegation in the five-day state visit to India. Marcos met with top executives of the GMR Group at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday. ''Ang direktiba niya ay red carpet treatment para sa GMR. Sa lahat ng kailangan nila mula sa Philippine Navy, sa DOTr (Department of Transportation), sa DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), sa Department of Finance, red carpet treatment ang ibigay nila para masigurado na ang investment ay darating at giginhawa ang Pilipinas,'' Remulla said in an interview. ''His directive is to provide a red carpet treatment for GMR. For everything it needs from the Philippine Navy, the DOTr, the DTI, and the Department of Finance, they should give a red carpet treatment to ensure the investments for the Philippines.) Remulla said GMR Group was involved in the construction of the international airports in Cebu and Clark. The GMR Group is also involved in developing an international airport and surrounding aerotropolis at the Sangley Point in Cavite. The said project is expected to create 10,000 to 15,000 jobs. Trump order imposes additional 25% tariff on goods from India
US-India ties are facing their most serious crisis in years after talks with India failed to produce a trade agreement. REUTERS/ Dado Ruvic/ Illustration WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Wednesday imposing an additional 25% tariff on goods from India, saying the country directly or indirectly imported Russian oil, adding to 25% tariffs already announced. The move threatens to further complicate US-Indian relations and comes shortly after a Indian government source said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit China for the first time in over seven years later this month. US-India ties are facing their most serious crisis in years after talks with India failed to produce a trade agreement. The White House move, first signaled by Trump on Monday, follows meetings by Trump's top diplomatic envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow aimed at pushing Russia to agree to peace in Ukraine. Trump has threatened higher tariffs on Russia and secondary sanctions on its allies, if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not move to end the war in Ukraine. — Reuters
