Who is leading the Giro d'Italia? Maglia rosa and general classification standings
Ulissi was part of a nearly 20-strong breakaway group that escaped on a frantic, relentless hilly stage in the Apennines, won by Jayco AlUla's Luke Plapp.

Ulissi took third on the stage but the bonus seconds, and a nearly four-minute lead on the peloton, were enough to see him pull on pink and end a four-year drought for a home wearer of the iconic jersey.
The race remains a battle between Roglic and his major rival Juan Ayuso, who won stage seven, and the Spaniard nicked another second battle from the 2023 champion with a late sprint to the line in Castelraimondo.

Report – Inter Milan Could Keep France Defender After Offloading Nicola Zalewski To Atalanta
Benjamin Pavard could reportedly stay at Inter Milan after Nicola Zalewski joined Atalanta. According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri could take the French center-back off the market. Despite showing readiness to negotiate the 29-year-old's exit, Inter are having second thoughts. Indeed, they've recently sold Zalewski to Atalanta for a reported fee of €17 million. As a result, they no longer face pressure to offload the former Bayern Munich star. Inter Milan Consider Keeping Benjamin Pavard After Selling Nicola Zalewski MILAN, ITALY – APRIL 16: Benjamin Pavard of FC Internazionale applauds the fans as he warms up prior to the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Quarter Final Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and FC Bayern München at San Siro on April 16, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) Udinese's Oumar Solet remains a concrete target for the Nerazzurri. Though his addition would increase competition for places, the Frenchman could co-exist with Benjamin Pavard. For context, new coach Cristian Chivu is eager to deploy Carlos Augusto as a wingback. The Brazilian often operated as part of Simone Inzaghi's back three, but the Romanian has other plans. As such, Augusto's return to his preferred position would open space for both Solet and Pavard. However, a significant offer could still make Inter reconsider their stance. Galatasaray and Marseille are reportedly interested in signing the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

Report – Inter Milan Plan To Pull Off An Alexis Sanchez Like Deal To Strengthen Attack Close To Transfer Window Deadline
Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan are reportedly planning a last-minute push to bolster their attacking options. According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, it may not be a flashy move as some would expect. Instead, Inter could focus on a cost-effective signing as they operate on a tight budget. Indeed, they're considering pulling off an Alexis Sanchez-like deal to reinforce Cristian Chivu's frontline. With Ademola Lookman set to stay at Atalanta, the Nerazzurri must turn their attention elsewhere. (Photo by) Lookman has been Inter's top target, but Atalanta's firm stance has forced them to withdraw from talks. Therefore, they have prioritized other deals. Christopher Nkunku stands out as the most attractive option, with Chelsea keen to cash in on their flop. Furthermore, the Frenchman has already rejected RB Leipzig, insisting on joining a club of a higher stature. Indeed, he seeks Champions League football, and Inter can offer that. However, there's a catch. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have leapfrogged the Nerazzurri in the race for the versatile forward.

Italian Identity – Inter Milan Have Turned Down Offers From Abroad For Three Italy Superstars
Inter Milan have reportedly fended off foreign advances for Italian stars Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella, and Davide Frattesi. According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the San Siro giants are keen to preserve their 'Italian identity.' New boss Cristian Chivu intends to maintain the core of Italian talent. Therefore, Inter have refused to negotiate the sales of three Italian superstars during the summer transfer window. Indeed, that's part of the club's strategy to build a team around a strong domestic nucleus. (Photo by) Inter have rejected Chelsea's significant €50 million bid for Alessandro Bastoni. Widely considered among Europe's best defenders, Bastoni remains one of the leaders of this Nerazzurri team. Then, there's Nicolo Barella, arguably one of the finest midfielders in the world, let alone Serie A. However, Al-Hilal had tried to sign the diminutive star, only for Inter to rebuff Simone Inzaghi's approach. Despite being close to leaving San Siro in January, the ex-Sassuolo ace is now heading toward a contract renewal.
