Ahead of the decision from the local authorities, Oxford CEO Tim Williams has issued a stark warning over the future of the club.
The U's currently play their football at the Kassam Stadium, but their lease is set to expire in 2026.
He told Sky Sports: "When our lease at the Kassam Stadium runs out, we won't have a home and a stadium to play in.
"If we don't have a stadium, there is a risk we won't have a football club."

Oxford's potential new development would feature an 18-bedroom hotel, an events centre as well as wellbeing and community spaces.
It would also be the first all-electric stadium in the UK.
Williams has claimed that Oxford are more in need of the ground than the likes of Manchester United and Everton.
The two Premier League giants are due in new homes with the Toffees moving into their new ground this summer.

The Red Devils are aiming to construct a new 100,000-seater stadium by the 2030/31 season.
Williams added: "It doesn't get more serious than that for a football club.

"We have seen headlines recently about a new Manchester United stadium, which with all due respect is a want and not a need.
"If Manchester United don't move out, they still have Old Trafford.
"If Everton hadn't moved into Bramley Moor-Dock, they've still got Goodison.
"If we don't move into a new stadium, we are homeless and we don't exist and it's an absolute travesty in my view.
"It's that important."
A decision on the new stadium is in less than five weeks and Williams believes that it would benefit the local community.
He said: "We now have a Football Regulator, and we have a report by Tracey Crouch which talks about football assets.
"We are a poster child for what good football governance and football clubs should be about.
'It's going to be a 16,000-seater stadium, on the outskirts of Oxford, and a real community asset, fully sustainable, in a brilliant location in the country.
'We need support, but we also need to say, the point about the club potentially not existing is a real one. This needs to be moved up every headline.
'We are entering a crucial period in the club's history. The future of the club hinges on the new stadium, and I'd urge every supporter, every stakeholder, and every voice to get behind this project.'

'The atmosphere in the pre-season tour was very good,' the Red Devils captain told Sky Sports. 'It was something the team probably needed, also for the ones who just came to the club. I can say that you feel a different atmosphere. 'We are all in the same path, in the same line. We know what we want from the season, where we have to go. We know the line we have drawn for ourselves and if someone steps out of that line, they're going to have consequences. 'I think that's a very important thing because in the past, we probably thought that even if you step outside the line a bit, you'll be okay. But now we've spoken, not only the manager, but the players have also spoken. We've said what is the minimum standard that we need and whoever steps out of this will have problems. Not only with the staff, but also with the teammates.' Amorim has created as six-player leadership group within his squad, which includes Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui and Tom Heaton. Explaining his thinking behind the group earlier this summer, Amorim said: 'It's not just Bruno, it's not just Harry, it's six guys now. They are responsible for the group. Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been linked with a sensational return to Old Trafford after Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim issued a warning to Andre Onana Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a shock move for former goalkeeper David de Gea. The Spaniard spent 12 years at Old Trafford and made a total of 545 appearances across all competitions, helping them win the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and two League Cups. De Gea left United in 2023 after his contract expired, with Erik ten Hag deciding to replace him with Andre Onana. The report states that United are considering a potential return for De Gea after being 'tipped off' about the clause. De Gea recently returned to Old Trafford with Fiorentina for a pre-season friendly and teased that their "paths may cross again". After being presented with a framed picture by United captain Bruno Fernandes, De Gea wrote on social media: "A magical moment for me and my family to come back to Old Trafford — my home. "From the bottom of my heart — I want to say thank you for the reception — for all the love you showed me. To the supporters that never stopped being with me throughout my time at this club. Our paths may cross again." Onana has failed to convince since joining United from Inter Milan and Ruben Amorim recently warned the goalkeeper that his place as the No.1 is under threat. "Andre is like the other players," Amorim said ahead of United's opening game against Arsenal. "They all have to win their place, so I'm not going to say if one player is No.1. He's ready to go to the game, so let's wait. Me as a coach and the players can do better than last year - and I have full confidence in that." Onana has conceded 148 goals in his two seasons at United and the Red Devils have been linked with a number of potential replacements so far this summer. However, they have primarily focused on strengthening their attack.
