Man City eye transfer for Newcastle star with Pep Guardiola keen on deal
Pep Guardiola is looking to reshape his Manchester City squad this summer after ending season without silverware for first time in eight years and Newcastle star Tino Livramento is admired Manchester City are eyeing a surprise move for Newcastle defender Tino Livramento, according to reports. Pep Guardiola is looking to revamp his squad ahead of a renewed assault on all fronts next season after the club went without silverware for the first time in eight years. And Livramento, 22, is being looked at despite Newcastle having no appetite to sell a player who has three years left on his contract, as per the Daily Mail. The ex-Chelsea academy player arrived from Southampton in 2023 for £40m and was handed a senior England call-up earlier this year. City are also pushing ahead with a move to bring in Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves, with an expectation that he could sign in time for the Club World Cup later this month. City are also in talks with Lyon over a move for Rayan Cherki and they have already submitted a £55m bid for AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak last week said City would come back stronger next season having finished 13 points behind champions Liverpool. It was the first campaign in eight that City did not win a single piece of silverware, while the club's legal battle with the Premier League rumbles on in the background. And Al Mubarak said: "We will be back. This season is a season that's now behind us. Today is a new day. We start working and preparing for next season. And by the way, we've been doing that since January. "And we will take all the good things and the not so good things from this season, and learn from it, improve from it and get better. "I can assure you, this club will do everything possible to come back to the standards that we know we all can achieve - and that we know we will achieve. "Because really, if there's one thing I'd like right now, it's to turn that page from last season and just immediately start focusing on next season. All the players, they're excited about coming back. Nobody feels good about how we finished the season. "They want to come back, and they want to come back hungry. And I can see the hunger. Normally these players are off and they're starting to think about vacation time etc. Honestly, every player I spoke to was telling me, 'we're coming back'. "That's the attitude you want - and that's exactly why you see me so positive. We're going to come back strong, with a lot of positivity."

Arsenal face Viktor Gyokeres transfer nightmare as striker speaks out on future
Arsenal are keen to add a new striker to their squad ahead of next season with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko among the candidates for a move to the Emirates Stadium Arsenal look set to have a busy start to the summer transfer window with Mikel Arteta keen to add a number of new faces to his squad. The Gunners look set to make Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi their first signing of the summer. But away from him, Arsenal are keen to sign a new striker and plenty of options have emerged. Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres is a leading name on their shortlist, as is Benjamin Sesko. Either way, Arsenal are set to spend heavily over the coming months. While there are a few new signings on their way to the Emirates, there could also be a few players bidding farewell to the Emirates. Myles Lewis-Skelly and William Saliba have both been linked with sensational moves to Spanish giants Real Madrid. But will those deals come to fruition? Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news and rumours from North London: Atletico Madrid express Gyokeres interest Arsenal could face serious competition in their attempts to sign Viktor Gyokeres. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have now joined the race for his services. It is claimed in Portugal that Diego Simeone's men will make an attempt to sign Gyokeres over the coming weeks. They are not the only side interested however. Serie A champions Napoli are also thought to be contemplating a move for the former Coventry man. On a positive note for Arsenal, Gyokeres' preference is apparently a switch to the Premier League. Who should Arsenal sign this summer? Share your thoughts in the comments below Gyokeres speaks out Sticking with the Swedish forward, he has refused to say too much about a potential move to Arsenal. Speaking with team-mate Leo Ostigard, he said:"We will see. Nobody knows anything yet. I wish I had a more fun answer, but that's all I can say for now." Later in the conversation, as he was saying goodbye to his former team-mate, Ostigard then added with a hint of jest: "Viktor! Great talking to you. See you soon, and text me when everything is signed and sorted down in Arsenal." Gyokeres jokingly replied: "Yeah, yeah sure." Arsenal open Lewis-Skelly talks Arsenal are attempting to keep Myles Lewis-Skelly out of Real Madrid's clutches by making him sign a new deal. The defender has just one year left on his current contract at the club, something that the Spanish giants were hoping to take advantage of. But according to reports, Arsenal are keen to agree a new long-term deal with Lewis-Skelly. In doing that, they hope to avoid a similar saga that saw Trent Alexander-Arnold move to the Bernabeu.

The inside story of Chelsea's £5m Jadon Sancho snub: Why the Blues wanted to sign him, the major stumbling block to a permanent deal and how they REALLY felt about the Man United flop
Chelsea are paying a £5million penalty so that Jadon Sancho will not play for them again. Unfortunate as it is for the loanee being returned to sender, that is the headline which will be remembered above all, even if there is more to this peculiar parting than that. Chelsea's agreement with United did not include any loan fee, the switch having been hurried over the line on last summer's deadline day when a deal sheet was submitted to the Premier League to give the clubs an additional two hours to complete the transfer after the 11pm cut-off.
