Yahoo30-03-2025

Deion Sanders' arrival at Colorado has been nothing short of transformative. Keyshawn Johnson, appearing on Fox's Speak, shed light on just how far-reaching the 'Prime Effect' really is, touching not only on Colorado's football resurgence but also on the broader cultural shift it has sparked in college football.
Keyshawn Johnson is quick to acknowledge the immediate impact Sanders has had on the Colorado Buffaloes' football program. Since Coach Prime's arrival, the team has gone from a 1-11 record in 2022 to a 4-8 finish in 2023, while ending with a 9-4 record last season and a bowl game appearance. Showcasing dramatic improvements, for Colorado. 'I don't want to just give him credit for Colorado's football program,' Johnson said. 'But, the transformation is real.' Sanders has not only turned the Buffaloes into national contenders but also sparked excitement throughout the fanbase, attracting attention from across the nation. His ability to bring in high-profile recruits, including quarterback JuJu Lewis, has elevated the program's stature almost overnight.
One of the most impressive aspects of Coach Prime's influence, according to Johnson, is the tangible effect on the university's enrollment. 'I want to give him credit for the enrollment, it has shot up through the roof.' With the Buffaloes' football program under the national spotlight, Colorado has seen an influx of applications from students eager to be part of the Prime Era. Sanders' impact extends beyond just the football field—he's brought attention to the entire university, and enrollment numbers have soared as a result.

Johnson expands the conversation beyond Boulder, noting that Deion Sanders' influence is creating waves across college football, especially at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). 'Whether it's the HBCU level, whether it's guys getting opportunities,' Johnson said. His comments reflect Sanders' wider impact on college football, which has opened doors for coaches like Eddie George, who recently moved from Tennessee State to Bowling Green. The 'Prime Effect' is not just about football—it's about opportunity, exposure, and changing the landscape of college athletics.

Deion Sanders shouts out Carlos Alcaraz for Roland Garros mastery

The post Deion Sanders shouts out Carlos Alcaraz for Roland Garros mastery appeared first on ClutchPoints. After spring football finished up, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is certainly focused on finalizing his roster as he gets ready for the upcoming season. However, he has been getting into tennis in his free time, and was taking notes from none other than the great Carlos Alcaraz on Friday. Advertisement Alcaraz was playing the prime time session on Court Philippe Chatrier for his third-round match against Damir Dzumhur and, as usual, was putting on a show. The Spaniard rolled through the first two sets, 6-1 6-3, and Sanders took note and gave him a shoutout on social media. '@carlosalcaraz is awesome! Watching him put on a show,' Sanders wrote on X, formerly Twitter. 'I'm studying all the pros so when I make my debut as PRIME BLACKENROW I understand how the game is really played. Much Love and respect Carlos!' The defending Roland Garros champion is off and running in his title defense as he seeks his fifth Grand Slam title overall and his second at the French Open. He cruised through his first two rounds for the most part, losing just one set to Hungarian Fabian Marozsan in the second round. If Sanders is going to get into tennis and become a serious player, Alcaraz is a great example to learn from. The 22-year old has all of the skills in the bag. He is the fastest player on tour and is one of the best defenders as a result, and he also has some of the best forehand firepower and touch at the net of anyone in the world. Advertisement All of those skills make Alcaraz the favorite to win the French Open on the men's side, followed closely by World No. 1 Jannik Sinner. Those two have split the last five Grand Slams (three for Sinner, two for Alcaraz) and it would be a surprise if anyone else were to come out on top. Alcaraz has a nice draw moving forward for his title defense as well. If he closes out Dzumhur, he will take on No. 13 seed Ben Shelton in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

Robert Griffin III Makes Stance Clear on Shedeur Sanders After Browns Practice

Robert Griffin III Makes Stance Clear on Shedeur Sanders After Browns Practice originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cleveland Browns enter 2025 with the weight of a disappointing 3-14 campaign still fresh, and their quarterback room remains the most scrutinized position on the roster. Advertisement As the Browns prepare for OTAs, they have gambled on competition among veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, the latter of whom has been the subject of heavy debate since the NFL draft. On Wednesday, another former NFL quarterback, Robert Griffin III, took to X to share his thoughts after reviewing film of Sanders with the Browns. "When you watch all the clips of Shedeur Sanders, you see why his tape said he was a 1st Round QB. He plays with NFL timing and rhythm, reads with his feet, plays ahead of the defense, has more than enough arm strength and he knows how to layer the ball. 🔥," Griffin posted. Son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shedeur starred first at Jackson State (2021-22) before following his father to Colorado (2023-24). Advertisement At Jackson State, he combined for 6,963 passing yards and 70 touchdowns with a 70.6% completion rate as a sophomore, winning the Jerry Rice Award, Deacon Jones Trophy and SWAC Freshman/Offensive Player of the Year honors. Over two seasons with the Buffaloes, he posted 7,364 yards, 64 TDs, and a career-high passer rating of 168.2 as a senior, earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award after leading Colorado to a 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl appearance. On Saturday, Sanders shared a montage of images from the week's practices on his Instagram account, without any accompanying caption. The post showcases Sanders in various drills, working alongside his fellow Browns coaches and teammates. Fans online were quick to react to the post. "QB1 BTW for the haters," said one user. As a freshman in 2021, he passed for 3,231 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning the Jerry Rice Award as the top FCS freshman. He followed with a sophomore season that saw him throw for 3,752 yards and 40 scores, claiming the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and the Deacon Jones Trophy as the nation's premier HBCU player. Advertisement A transfer to Colorado in 2023 saw Sanders shatter school records, including a 510-yard passing day against TCU and in 2024, he put up 4,134 passing yards with 37 touchdowns, earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The Browns, meanwhile, enter 2025 looking to rebound from a challenging 2024 season that saw the team finish 3-14, enduring its worst record since 2017.
