Hansal Mehta praises Aamir Khan's pay per view model of releasing ‘Sitaare Zameen Par': ‘I'm a vocal supporter of…'

Aamir Khan 's film Sitaare Zameen Par which released in theatres in June has taken an unconventional route when it comes to the digital streaming of the film. Instead of its release on an OTT platform existing already, the film will be available for streaming on YouTube through a pay-per-view model. The move has not only surprised many but also earned admiration from industry peers who see it as a step forward in making cinema more accessible to the masses. Among the most vocal supporters is filmmaker Hansal Mehta , who penned an emotional note on Instagram , sharing how deeply the film resonated with him. "Sitaare Zameen Par hits that elusive sweet spot for me. It's the film Chhalaang could've aspired to be. In fact, it's what Chhalaang would've meant – had it been translated literally," Mehta wrote. Calling the film 'personal,' the 'Shahid' director continued: 'Led, of course, by the most special people – children of a greater god, the ones with an eight-day week and hearts far bigger than our mortal ones – this film is personal for me. Deeply so. It made me laugh, yes, but also weep. Joyous, copious tears.' He went on to praise Aamir Khan's performance and the film's emotional impact: 'As a film, it offers everything we've come to expect from Aamir Khan over the years: entertainment, meaning, and yes, a touch of manipulation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Health: the best shoes to walk and stand all day Ultra-Comfortable Shoes Undo But here there's no feeling of dishonesty in that emotional tug. I wanted to be taken on the journey. Some said Aamir overacted. I found him delightfully free, uninhibited, endearing, and completely present. ' The note also gave a special mention to the supporting cast: 'The supporting cast especially Gurpal Singh and Dolly Ahluwalia were an absolute charm.' While acknowledging the familiar structure of the story, Mehta added, 'Sure, the film follows a familiar, even predictable, template not unlike many of Aamir's earlier films. But this one brings with it freshness, heart, and an irrepressible joy. That's reason enough to celebrate Sitaare Zameen Par. ' A long-time advocate for alternative distribution models, Mehta ended his note with a call to action: 'I'm a vocal supporter of the pay-per-view model, and I urge you to watch this smile of a film – now on YouTube." Veteran actor Prem Chopra also chimed in with praise for the film, describing it as 'absolutely fantastic.' However, not everything has gone smoothly. Some users, particularly on Apple devices, reported that the rental price was showing as ₹179—higher than expected. Aamir Khan, though not active on social media himself, addressed the concern through his production house's official X (formerly Twitter) handle. 'Our sincere apologies. We just became aware that the cost to rent our film Sitaare Zameen Par is reflecting as ₹179 on Apple devices. We are trying to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding,' read the statement. The move to release a major Bollywood film directly on YouTube via pay-per-view is a bold step, and Aamir Khan has said that it stems from a growing concern over the rising cost of going to the movies.

Each day, a 4x4 grid containing 16 words is presented. The player's task is to cluster the words into four groups of four, where each group is bound by a common theme. The difficulty is color-coded, with yellow representing the easiest connections and purple the most challenging. The categories could range from phonetic similarities to cultural references, from simple physical actions to sports trivia. NYT Connections Hints for August 7, 2025 As per today's puzzle (#788), the game required users to make some nuanced logical leaps. Here are the NYT Connections hints to guide you, as per a report by Beebom: Live Events Yellow: Words related to making holes or punctures Green: Actions performed with a computer mouse Blue: Creatures or characters known for their pointy ears Purple: Champions from the tennis courts of Wimbledon These clues are intended to nudge solvers in the right direction without outright giving the game away. Observations on Today's Puzzle Many solvers on social media found today's puzzle moderately challenging. The yellow and green clusters, widely agreed to be the easiest, were solved swiftly. However, the blue category led to confusion, with debates raging over whether 'Devil' and 'Batman' belonged in the same set. The purple category, with its link to tennis, may have tripped up those unfamiliar with past and current Wimbledon champions. Still, even casual fans of the sport may have recognized one or two names. NYT Connections Categories for August 7 Here's a recap of the categories, without revealing the grouped words just yet: Yellow: PERFORATE Green: MOUSE ACTIONS Blue: ONES WITH POINTY EARS Purple: WIMBLEDON WINNERS Each of these categories required both lateral and vertical thinking. From simple physical actions to fantasy lore and Grand Slam greatness, today's grid was a true test of general knowledge and associative thinking. Best Practices: How to Tackle Connections Veteran players of NYT Connections know that a sharp eye and strategic grouping are key to solving the puzzle. A few handy tips include: Look for synonyms or similar actions first—these usually fall under the yellow or green category. Cross-check words you think belong together by testing them in the game's interface. Remember, Connections sometimes throws in curveballs—words may fit in more than one group, but only one grouping is correct. Also, it's good to note that while one category might be familiar (e.g., 'mouse actions'), another might be niche (e.g., 'Wimbledon winners'). And Now… The NYT Connections Answers for August 7, 2025 If you've reached this point, you're likely here for confirmation, or a lifeline.
