Is this Perth's youngest rap music fan?

Perth Now02-07-2025
He might only be eight years old, but Yokine's Noah Gianotti was as passionate as any rap music fan lining up to meet British performer Central Cee at Perth Airport on Tuesday evening ahead of the star's RAC Arena show tonight.
One of forty or fifty dedicated locals attempting to greet the star, Noah was overcome with emotion after the drill rapper stopped to say hello, posed for a photo, and signed a cover of his 2025 album Can't Rush Greatness.
'I actually started crying after, because I'm a big fan of him,' Noah told PerthNow, with the youngster's parents on hand to capture the pair's encounter. Rapper Central Cee stops for an autograph for Noah Gianotti on Tuesday at Perth Airport. Credit: Nick Gianotti
But it wasn't enough to simply meet his hero, with the youngster compelled to take his fandom a step further.
'I actually did one of his rap verses back to him,' he added.

While the touring artist's music is crafted for adult ears, the RAC Arena show is billed as an all-ages event.
Sure to play Noah's favourite tracks Sprinter and BAND4BAND — cracking 900 million and 400 million listens on Spotify respectively, the youngster will not be attending the star's last Aussie show.
For him, the tangible nature of a face-to-face meeting with his musical heroes means more than simply cheering them on from a distance. Yokine's Noah Gianotti poses with his signed Central Cee album cover. Credit: Nick Gianotti
'I just like having the memories of waiting for them and just seeing if they'll come and say hi, and sign an autograph,' he said.
Noah's parents Nick Gianotti and Prue Earl have influenced his taste in music, and have been playing hip hop around the house for his entire life.
As patient as he is passionate, Noah has waited hours to meet the likes of Drake, Post Malone, and Blink-182's Travis Barker upon their trips to Perth in recent times.
His parents manage an Instagram account which shares all of his celebrity encounters.

The Wiggles are set to perform in Perth later this year, celebrating the popular character The Tree of Wisdom, played by the nephew of original Blue Wiggle Anthony Field. The children's entertainers are kicking off a festive Tree of Wisdom Australian tour in Perth at RAC Arena on November 1. This high-energy extravaganza set in a spectacular 360-degree arena show is sure to have the whole family singing, dancing and Wiggling as the man behind the twirling trunk, Dominic Field, and friends take centre stage. The tour will also celebrate the release of The Wiggles' new album, set to come out on October 3, with two singles available now. The tracks, unveiled on Tuesday, include a re-imagining of Tina Turner's Nutbush City Limits sung by Yellow Wiggle Tsehay Hawkins and Field and a nonsense-fuelled anthem Rika-Pudy-Fan-Dan-Doogly. Tom Cruise boldly shows up at Oasis concert despite infamous diss by band members

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were spotted among a sea of fans at the latest Oasis concert. Cruise, 63, and his upcoming "Deeper" co-star, 37, caught the Gallagher brothers performing at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday, July 25. English producer DJ Goldie snapped a selfie with Cruise at the show, nearly 20 years after the band mocked the "Mission: Impossible" actor. Noel and Liam Gallagher embarked on a comeback tour earlier this month — a series of concerts marking the first time Oasis has performed together since the band broke up in 2009. Cruise appeared to be loving every second of the performance as he smiled with the British DJ in a snap shared on Instagram. His attendance proved there was no ill-will between the trio, more than 18 years after Liam and Noel mocked the "Top Gun: Maverick" star. In an excerpt from the band's 2007 documentary, "Lord Don't Slow Me Down," Liam and Noel admitted they weren't fans of Cruise. "Tom Cruise is a f****** midget," Noel said, before continuing on, "He's a little f*****, and he's not been in one good film his entire career." "'Cocktail' is great," Liam said about Tom's classic 1988 romantic comedy, which also starred Elizabeth Shue. Still, Liam asserted, "I hate Tom Cruise." While some of the band argued that "Eyes Wide Shut" was a good Cruise film, Liam stood firm in his disdain. "I hate Tom Cruise. Him and [then–pro soccer player] Michael Owen," he said. Shortly after the Cruise cursing was released, the "Jerry Maguire" actor reportedly confronted Liam at a hotel in Berlin. While Cruise was in town to promote "Valkyrie," the Daily Star reported that Tom and Liam "made polite conversation" regarding Gallagher's disapproval. Cruise allegedly reminded the "Champagne Supernova" singer that he was still a fan of "Cocktail." The reported rift was far from his mind, though, this week as romance rumors continued to swirl between De Armas and Cruise. The pair — who will soon begin filming the supernatural thriller "Deeper" — sparked dating rumors earlier this year when they were spotted together in London. They've since been seen together several times, including on her birthday in April and at David Beckham's birthday party in May. De Armas admitted that it was "surreal" to hear kind words about her work from Cruise, ahead of their new film. "It's very special," de Armas told Access Hollywood in May when asked about him raving about her role in the film. "It's very surreal that an actor like him, like someone like him, likes the movie and my performance and my work, and we're working together now so, yeah, it's pretty, it's really amazing." In a photo and video captured by a bystander and shared on X of the April birthday stroll, Cruise walked next to de Armas with his hands behind his back and was holding what appeared to be an olive green dog leash with a pouch. The pair were accompanied by another woman as well as security guards. The day before de Armas' birthday, the "Ballerina" actress was photographed with Cruise as they disembarked a helicopter that was flown by the "Minority Report" star. On Feb. 13, the two were pictured walking through London's Soho neighborhood as de Armas carried what appeared to be takeout bags of food from a restaurant. They stopped for photos with fans before leaving in a taxi together. Originally published as Tom Cruise boldly shows up at Oasis concert despite infamous diss by band members

Iconic film starring Keira Knightley confirmed for a sequel, 23 years on

Don't miss out on the headlines from Upcoming Movies. Followed categories will be added to My News. IN LONDON More than two decades after the original, another Bend It Like Beckham is on the way. Director Gurinder Chadha has confirmed she is working on a sequel to the hit 2002 film, which starred Keira Knightley and Parminder Nagra. It will be released in 2027 in honour of Bend It Like Beckham's 25th anniversary and also to coincide with the FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. Bend It Like Beckham was a major box office success. Chadha told the BBC she'd received requests for a follow-up 'almost twice a week' since the release of the original, which was made on a $7.2 million budget and became a box office hit, making around $120 million worldwide. 'We've been part of changing the game for women, so it felt like this was a good time for me to go back and investigate the characters,' she explained. It's not yet clear whether the new instalment will be a film or TV series, but Chadha said she hoped to reunite some of the original cast members. The original film starred Nagra and Knightley. The sequel is expected to be released in 2027. Bend It Like Beckham followed the story of Jess (Parminder), a British teenager from a traditional Sikh family who dreams of being a football star amid pressure to follow to settle down. Jess befriends Jules (Knightley) and is recruited into the local women's team, where she struggles to keep the secret of her growing dedication and passion to the game from her family. It's not yet known which cast members might return. Chadha hinted that she'd been thinking about a sequel back in 2023, when she told The Mirror that for 'the longest time' she had avoided the idea. 'But I have to say, after the World Cup this year, and also with the Euros a few years ago, my brain is ticking again and I have an idea in my head that I'm thinking through for the first time, she told the publication. 'I'm thinking that I could definitely do something. I never wanted to follow the girls off in America, because I felt that what I had created was so magical for that moment in time. 'It's very hard with sequels – there are very few sequels that I think really hit the mark after the success of the first film. 'However, I do have an idea and I am starting to work on it, so I think I will definitely do something that shows how brilliant our athletes are right now.'
