As you find a seat on the bus home, you press play; 'Papercut' starts playing, and you open the CD booklet to an almost monochromatic portfolio of graffiti and song lyrics,'Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today.'Over the next month, you listen to nothing but Linkin Park's debut studio album, reading the album booklet like a bible: memorizing, uncovering, connecting with the late Chester Bennington's troubled childhood — gone were the days.

Pauly, also known as 'himumimdead,' is an Australian-born free spirit who truly seeks to live life to the fullest — and his autobiographical art is a by-product of that philosophy. Having recently somewhat left the material world behind and moved his homebase to Brazil, Pauly walks the walk, just as much as he talks the talk. His art is raw and honest, it embraces imperfection, and is rooted in stories for days.
'I was working for Ksubi in Australia when A$AP Rocky walked into my workshop space — I didn't know it was him at the time — and we just bonded right then and there,' recalls Pauly. 'After which I met Bari, and when they launched VLONE, they invited me to help with the brand's activations and murals. Years later I went on to meet Rihanna as well, and it's crazy seeing Rocky then and now, where he's fully into responsible dad-mode. It's beautiful.'
Often misunderstood, Pauly, while chronically enigmatic and often perceived as snooty and rebellious on social media, is in actuality the most down-to-earth, good-hearted human being whose impact is anything but chaotic, albeit not always the easiest to lock down — 'I will always be there for a friend, if you can catch me, that is,' says the nomadic, self-proclaimed tech illiterate.
It's also probably his moniker 'himumimdead' that is so detached from the actual person. 'In all honesty nicknames like that were the trend when the internet was just starting out. One of those crazy decisions I made for my handle, which could just as easily have been something like 'pauly6969.' I would change it if I could, but more so because people always associate it with its morbid meaning, when in fact it was just something I used to say to my mum to exaggerate how burned out I was working in Sydney, 'Hi mum, I'm dead.''
Back then, Pauly spent years immersed in the fashion industry, but his true passion was in art, which he always did 'for fun' until he eventually found a way to bring both worlds together. His portfolio is diverse: from traditional canvases and paper to massive murals, patchwork denim and T-shirts, and even immersive installations that have popped up everywhere from Australia to Europe, China, and the US. Not to mention celebrity endorsements from the likes of the A$AP crew and Kanye West (before he changed his name to Ye), whose recognition of his intrepid and progressive art perfectly aligns with a tech product that aims to be more than just a device.

This August, take advantage of the best that both worlds have to offer, starting with the art installations at the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic. The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort is at once an art-filled escape and a family-friendly beachside destination offering a wide range of activities for all. Within the hotel lies a beautiful series of stacked bulbous sculptures by Lorraine Franco, titled 'Totem to Remember.' The vertical ceramics pay tribute to the Taíno culture by representing its ancestry and shared memory. Many of the artists featured are located in the Dominican Republic. The mural inside the St. Regis Bar is by Santo Domingo-based Citlally Miranda, while a conceptual hammock was created by local design studio Atrezzo. Though the St. Regis is frequently associated with its hotels, its portfolio of resorts is filled with on-property experiences for all ages, including a spa and relaxing poolside retreat. Much of the atmosphere is family-focused—the destination offers plenty of activities for the kids. On the heels of the release of King of the Hill's 14th season on Hulu, Eater caught up with Adlon about returning to the role, why chef was the perfect career choice for a guy like Bobby, and which of the Japanese-German fusion dishes on his menu she's looking forward to trying out. What was it like to inhabit the character of Bobby Hill again after 15 years away from the show? Easy as pie. He just lives inside me, and he's been dormant. It really didn't hit me until later, though, that I do a lot of cooking in real life. I'm an amateur chef, and I did a lot of cooking in my own show, Better Things. So to be able to do that with Bobby, I love that. I love that they're showing grown-up Bobby with his friends who are all off at university, and he's working in a restaurant. He's taken on some of these attributes of his dad — being a blue-collar working man, being responsible — but he's still an outside-the-box thinker who comes up with an idea like serving German-Japanese cuisine in Dallas. What was your reaction when you found out that Bobby grew up to be a chef? I freaked out. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. It just feels right. The only other option was for him to self-actualize and become a prop comic. I love that it has artistry, and also what I call 'blacksmith skills,' the stuff that all human beings need to stay alive. It just feels so natural to see Bobby inside a restaurant. Like, of course he's a chef. It really is a beautiful transition for him, and that's a testament to the writers and the creators of the show, both the OG writers and the new writers. The new writers we got are real fans who grew up with the show, and it's really sweet. They're working so hard to honor the old-school, vintage King of the Hill stuff, but infuse it with new juice. And I think they did an awesome job. Did you bring any of your own restaurant experience to the role? I never worked in a restaurant. I always wanted to have a restaurant, but I'm just an amateur cook. My experience is years of cooking for my kids and their friends. I also did a lot of cooking on Better Things, and I loved incorporating food into those scenes. Food is a big part of my life and what I do, but [the writers] didn't need me to give them any of my ideas. They already came up with all the good stuff. Bobby's German-Japanese fusion definitely sounds interesting, but I'm not so sure about eating herring tempura. Are you looking forward to recreating any of his recipes at home? Absolutely. I think if I had to pick just one, it would be the miso-wurst.
