Hajiji applauds Sawit Kinabalu's anti-corruption plan
(OACP) 2025-2029, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the culture of integrity and good governance at all levels of the organization.
'I encourage all departments and government-linked companies (GLCs) to emulate such approach in reinforcing integrity values and enhancing public trust in government institutions,' he stated.
He added that the OACP is an initiative to create efficient, credible and corruption-free administration.
Hajiji, who is also the chairman of Sawit Kinabalu, said the implementation of the OACP should not merely fulfill policy requirements, but it should become a norm in the work culture of GLCs and government agencies.
The Chief Minister said this after receiving the OACP from Sawit Kinabalu Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Victor Ationg at the Menera Kinabalu here today.

Kota Kinabalu: Kunak Assemblywoman Norazlinah Arif is grateful the attempted coup in Sabah on January 2023 failed due to a lack of support for Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal as the next chief minister. 'Many assemblymen, mainly from BN and PH, were also in favour of retaining the current administration (under Hajiji). 'For me, that was a sign that we were betrayed by a party that was supposedly championing the people's rights,' she said, recalling the incident that came to be known as 'the Kinabalu Move.' It was aimed at ousting Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as Chief Minister and was the ultimate betrayal of Sabahans. She said she and several others were informed that four or five Warisan leaders would be named to the State Cabinet if they backed the Bung-led coup. Following its failure, Norazlinah and several other Warisan assemblymen threw their support behind Hajiji. Norazlinah was with Warisan in 2023 when the party, led by President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, plotted with Sabah Umno to replace the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah government. The two-term assemblywoman said Warisan members were hoping that the memorandum of understanding at the federal level that was struck earlier between the party, GRS, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan on Dec 16, 2022 would benefit the people. The intention was to back the newly established unity government led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, she added. 'Our hope at the time was that the leaders of the respective parties and coalitions would unite to prioritise the rakyat above their personal interests or that of the party. 'Unfortunately, the opposite happened,' she said, referring to the failed 'coup' led by Sabah Umno. In January that year, Datuk Bung Moktar Radin, the Sabah Umno chief, announced that the party was withdrawing its support for Hajiji. However, six Umno assemblymen pledged continued support for Hajiji, foiling Bung's plans which had the backing of Warisan and Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat. The GRS assemblymen pledged their undivided support for Hajiji, who assumed the top post in September 2020 following a state election. Bung was subsequently dropped as the state's deputy chief minister. Norazlinah said there was nothing altruistic about the Kinabalu Move. Hajiji has treated us well The Kinabalu Move was the straw that broke the camel's back for Norazlinah. On Feb 6, 2023, she left Warisan, a party she had been with since its founding in 2016. She expressed no regrets for her decision, especially after aligning with Hajiji, whom she praised for addressing the people's issues through action rather than rhetoric. 'Hajiji treats all assemblymen fairly, myself included, despite the fact that I only recently joined GRS,' she said, adding that the chief minister was also more accessible. According to Norazalinah, there is talk of Warisan joining forces with BN for the coming state election, despite Shafie previously stating that the party intends to contest all 73 seats on its own. She said such talk contradicted Warisan's previous stance on an alliance with BN. 'When we first joined the party, we were indoctrinated to think that our mission was to topple BN. Why GRS must work with PH: Hajiji

RANAU: Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) supreme council agreed to continue cooperating with Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the coming state election because history has shown that a state government cannot do without having a strong relationship with Federal. 'We want strong ties with the Federal Government. We want stability and we hope the people will understand that we are doing the best for them. 'To bring prosperity to them,' he said, at the ground-breaking of the Paginatan new township at the Nunuk Ragang Memorial open-air hall, Tuesday. He was apparently referring to the period when the State Government was ruled by the opposition for nearly nine years which resulted in investors and tourists staying away, amenities like water and electricity not being improved and state revenue hitting all time lows. The period after 1990 also coincided with an influx of illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries. The Chief Minister and GRS Chairman said the present GRS-PH State Government's track record of bringing progress to Sabah has been proven. 'We have more than 400 initiatives under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya development agenda, and about 94 per cent of them have been implemented,' he said. He said this was contrary to the opposition's claims, which wants to pull wool over the peoples' eyes. Hajiji said the GRS-PH government approved numerous assistance programmes for the state's education development and people's prosperity, which had never been done by any other state government. 'This year alone, we have been giving monthly assistance of RM300 to nearly 100,000 hardcore poor, and this initiative will be continued if the people return the mandate to GRS-PH in the coming election,' he said. He also said the GRS-PH State Government succeeded in getting greater participation in the oil and gas sector through the historic signing of the Commercial Collaborative Agreement (CCA) with Petronas in 2021. He said that the State Government, through the Sabah Housing and Town Development Authority (SHTDA), is committed to continuing its agenda of addressing urban and rural poverty through the new township development programme. He said the long-awaited Paginatan New Township project is expected to drive the local economy in the area, in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development roadmap, which at its core, aims at prioritising the well-being of the people and improving their quality of life. The 200-acre new township, located 43km from here, will be developed in five phases, involving the construction of various important amenities, including government offices, shops, low-cost housing, multi-purpose hall, library, health centre, market, police and fire stations. Once completed, the people in Paginatan would no longer have to go to Ranau or Telupid to deal with government departments, he said. Hajiji also assured that issues affecting the people in Paginatan constituency that were raised by Assemblyman Datuk Abidin Madingkir would be addressed. Abidin, who is Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, thanked Hajiji for giving the green light for the new township project and urged the people to continue their support for the GRS government in the coming election. Strong state-federal ties crucial for Sabah's progress, says Hajiji
RANAU: A robust partnership between the Sabah state government and the federal administration is essential for sustaining development in the region, according to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. Hajiji, who chairs Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), highlighted that the collaborative governance under the GRS-Pakatan Harapan (PH) alliance has significantly advanced Sabah's progress. He emphasised the importance of stability and unity with the federal government to ensure prosperity for the people. Under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development agenda, more than 400 initiatives have been introduced, with 94% successfully executed. Hajiji noted that the GRS-PH government has rolled out unprecedented aid programmes for education and public welfare. This year, nearly 100,000 hardcore poor households in Sabah are receiving monthly assistance of RM300, a scheme set to continue if the coalition retains public support in the upcoming state election. The GRS Supreme Council has agreed to uphold its existing cooperation with PH for the election, reinforcing their shared commitment to Sabah's development. The 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly will dissolve automatically on 11 November unless an earlier dissolution occurs. Separately, Hajiji announced that the state government, via the Sabah Housing and Town Development Authority (LPPB), remains dedicated to alleviating urban and rural poverty through new township projects. The Paginatan New Township, spanning 200 acres and located 43 km from Ranau, is expected to stimulate the local economy. The project, aligned with SMJ's welfare-focused goals, will feature government offices, shops, affordable housing, health centres, and multipurpose halls, developed in five phases. – Bernama
