Man roasts authorities over electric poles planted in the middle of Himachal road, calls it ‘tourist attraction'; netizens demand ‘21 topo ki salami'

Indian Express16-07-2025
A bizarre video doing the rounds online shows electric poles sticking out right in the middle of a road, prompting concerns about commuter safety. But what's really grabbing attention is the man behind the camera, who turns the strange scene into a comedy sketch, roasting the authorities in a sarcastic tirade.
Claiming to have come 'all the way from Haryana' just to witness this absurdity, the man doesn't hold back. He calls the poles an innovative way to test drivers' reflexes and decision-making. 'Yahan logon ki driving ki quality bhi test ho rahi hai' (Here, people's quality of driving is also being tested), he says, before taking a dig at Bihar: 'Bihar walon ne toh ped lagaye the lekin Himachal wale keh rahe hain ki hum toh khambe uga denge' (People in Bihar planted trees, but those in Himachal are saying they'll grow electric poles).
He also said that the place should be declared a tourist destination, calling it a marvel of modern engineering. 'Jo peeke gaadi chalate hain, jinko dikhta nahi hai idhar udhar, unhe bhi dikhe ga yeh khamba centre mei' (Those who drive drunk, those who can't see left or right, even they will notice this pole in the center), he says.
Engineers forgot to remove an electric pole while constructing a road in Himachal Pradesh.

The Internet, of course, ran wild with reactions. One user fumed, 'How can they forget to remove? This is how lazy the bureaucracy is. There is no coordination between departments.' Another said, 'This technology should not go outside the country. We are miles ahead of other nations in creating such engineering marvels.'
Some comments even took a swipe at the qualifications of those responsible: 'They must have received their degrees during Covid,' wrote one user.
'Kisne banaya yeh mujasema, kya karigari hai, 21 topo ki salami di jaye inhe' (Who made this statue, what craftsmanship, give them a 21-gun salute), commented another user.
This isn't the first time a public construction has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Just recently, a newly constructed railway overbridge near Aishbagh Stadium in Bhopal came under fire, not for delays or cost overruns, but for its unusual 90-degree curve immediately after the incline. Designed to ease congestion for nearly three lakh commuters, the Rs 18-crore project ended up stirring controversy over its design. While the Congress slammed the layout, PWD Minister Rakesh Singh brushed it off as political noise but assured that the design would be reviewed.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Lifetime Worldwide Box Office: Pawan Kalyan's movie seals a DISASTROUS fate, grossing just Rs 106 crore globally

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1: Sword vs Spirit ~ Battle for Dharma, directed by Jyothi Krisna and starring Pawan Kalyan, Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal among others, has ended its global theatrical run on a sorry note, and in just two weeks. The Pawan Kalyan star vehicle has ended its run, grossing just Rs 106.25 crore. The movie required over Rs 200 crore worldwide for a theatrical breakeven, and for producers to resume working on the sequel to this film. Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 Ends Its Global Run Grossing Rs 106.25 Crore With the kind of collections that Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 has ended with, it is almost impossible for the producers to invest more in the sequel, despite the fact that 20 percent of the next film has already been shot. It is rare movie where not just the distributors but also the producers will lose big money. The credibility of Pawan Kalyan has gone further down with this religious actioner. It's now over a decade since the actor delivered a clean hit at the box office. Despite consistently delivering big openers, his movies are not able to do even decent lifetime business, barring a few exceptions. The Only Record Of Hari Hara Veera Mallu Worth Mentioning Is The Premiere Record In Andhra States All that Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 has to boast about is the record premiere day collections in the Andhra states. Barring that, there is nothing about the film worth mentioning. Yes, the decent trending of the movie on Saturday and Sunday can be mentioned as that's what helped the movie go past the Rs 100 crore worldwide mark. If not for that, the film would have ended its run grossing under Rs 100 crore. The Breakdown Of The Lifetime Worldwide Box Office Collections Of Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 Are As Under Circuit/Region Gross Collections Nizam Rs 29.75 crore Andhra Rs 42.25 crore Ceeded Rs 10.50 crore Total Andhra States Rs 83 crore Karnataka Rs 7.25 crore ROI Rs 2 crore Total India Rs 92.25 crore Overseas Rs 14 crore Total Worldwide Rs 106.25 crore Pawan Kalyan's Upcoming Movies Pawan Kalyan will be looking to bounce back with They Call Him OG and Ustaad Bhagat Singh. While They Call Him OG will release in late September, Ustaad Bhagat Singh will likely release in the first quarter of 2026. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Rajinikanth Flies Economy With Daughter Aishwarya, Fans Cheer In Viral Video

New Delhi: Rajinikanth is once again trending on the Internet and the reason is not his upcoming film, Coolie. Instead, the superstar was recently spotted travelling in an economy class flight. The video was shared on X by a fan account on Thursday. The footage showed Rajinikanth and his daughter Aishwarya making their way through the flight. The actor obliged fans' requests and greeted them as they screamed in excitement. The father-daughter duo can be seen occupying the front row seats in economy class. When a fan yelled, "Thalaiva, face paakanum (Thalaiva, need to see your face)", Rajinikanth immediately got up and made his way to the aisle. He waved and greeted everyone with folded hands. Earlier in May, the makers dropped a new teaser to mark the 100-day countdown to the film's release. The standout moment from the video is a recreation of an iconic scene from Rajinikanth's Thalapathi, where he's seen standing with the setting sun in the background. #Thalapathi x #Coolie My humble quick edit for Thalaivar❤️ Thank you Sun Pictures and Lokesh, Enna da life sad ah pogudhe nu nenaikkum bodhu, sema update erakki vitteenga. Thank you Thalaiva ???????? love you as always #Thalaivar #CoolieFromAug14 — Kousik Karthikeyan (@kousik23) May 6, 2025 Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and Pooja Hegde in supporting roles. Aamir Khan will also make a cameo appearance in the movie. After Coolie, Rajinikanth has Jailer 2 in his lineup. The action drama went on floors in March 2025. The film will see the actor reprising his role of Muthuvel Pandian. Jailer 2 marks Nelson Dilipkumar's second collaboration with Rajinikanth. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. The cast of the movie has not been announced yet. The prequel, released in 2023, was a massive blockbuster and turned out to be one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies ever. It chronicled a former jail warden who is on a path of seeking revenge after his son goes missing and is assumed to be dead.
