Russell Martin wants ‘powerful' connection between his Rangers side and fans
Rangers take on the Greek side in the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round at Ibrox and Martin hopes fans can quickly see the dominant, intense, aggressive team that forms his vision for his reign.
The former MK Dons, Swansea and Southampton manager said: 'Every day I wake up and I'm honoured to be in this position. I feel extremely grateful for it. I'm excited by it and I will give it absolutely everything I've got. We all will.
'That's what this club demands, what the people demand, what the supporters demand, who will outstay all of us. I just want to put a team on the pitch that they are proud of.
'It has to start (on Tuesday) and they have to see something to be excited about and we have to see something to be excited about. The players have to feel something to be excited about and it's an amazing opportunity and game to do that.
'What we've seen in training has been amazing. They've come with fresh energy, with willingness and openness to new ideas, to new demands, to maybe different rules to what they've had before and they've been great the way they've embraced it.
'And now the biggest challenge for them is to do it in front of 50,000 people with a game that means so much to so many people. And, for any football player, I think it's the biggest test to be yourself in those situations.

'What we have seen over the last four weeks, the more chance we have of being successful. I hope they play with the same freedom, enjoyment and aggression and willingness to run.
'For the team, it will accelerate the learning. That will improve, whatever happens, there's no doubt about it.
'But I think one of the things that has to come out is that the supporters will leave feeling positively about their team, their new-look team, the way it's going to start to shape up.
'We'll be by no means the finished articled, there's a lot of work that needs to go in, but in four weeks from what we've seen to now, the group has been great and they have to put that on the pitch.
'I hope that the fans will leave feeling excited about what's to come and (there will) start being a real connection. Because I think if we can be connected, the whole club, Ibrox, here, the supporters, if this club has that, with that energy, I think it's going to take some stopping. I think it's really powerful.
'But we have to all believe in something and that will be how much the players are willing to win, the hunger, the character, the desire to show. And I'm confident that we'll see that.'
Martin's demand that his team play out from the back will ensure a different style to what Rangers fans have been accustomed to and the former Scotland hopes they can buy into that process.
'There will be times where it won't require much patience and there will be times where it will,' he said.
'It's not all going to be plain sailing, there will be some bumpy moments but we have to make sure that everyone can understand and see what we are trying to achieve and that the team has enough moments that people can feel excited about.'

Robin Propper on the Rangers dressing room 'difference' that he instantly found after Twente return
The Dutch defender now appreciates what new signings from abroad must feel when they arrive in the Netherlands Robin Propper has hinted that the Rangers dressing didn't have the team spirit he was expecting and now knows exactly how foreign imports feel when arriving in Holland. The Dutchman lasted a year at Ibrox before returning to the Netherlands and his previous club this week. The centre back won't go down as one of the better pieces of business done by the Glasgow giants after Philippe Clement drafted him in last August. He was given a run out during pre-season by Russell Martin but the writing was on the wall after the new boss signed Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez to play in the same position, and an offer was accepted from Twente. And he seemed to suggest that the Gers dressing room wasn't exactly big on ensuring new faces from overseas were fully integrated, and it's made him appreciate the team spirit that exists in Enschede. "It was an eye-opener for me," Propper told the club's YouTube channel. "I wasn't aware of how foreign boys feel when they come to the Netherlands (before Rangers). I think they need attention and time. "You have to be constantly involved within the team. I have noticed that abroad it is different. "The team spirit here at Twente is so strong. That has been a huge strength at Twente. I realise now that it has to be kept in check. You have to invest in that. "You have to involve all the boys. That is one thing I want to take with me to the future." Propper's exit dragged on as he negotiated with Rangers over the terms of his departure with a year still left on his deal. But he insisted he enjoyed "beautiful moments' in light blue and is glad he had his year in Govan. Propper added: 'It was a long wait. I wanted to know how it would go with Rangers. A lot happened there and I wanted to see how it went. 'I did pre-season and I played matches there. I don't think I missed much in terms of fitness 'Of course I want to say that I had a great adventure at a beautiful club with a rich history. I always wanted that in my career. I think I want to look at a different mirror after a while. 'I can say that I have done that now. It felt really good to come back to the club where I really wanted to be - where I felt at home. Hamza Igamane to Feyenoord 'leak' sparks Robin van Persie rage with Rangers alert to Lille confession
The boss in Rotterdam has been left irked by the murmurs over deals escaping the Feyenoord inner circle Rangers striker Hamza Igamane is on Feyenoord's shopping list - but the latest set of transfer murmurs around the Dutch giants has resulted in fury from boss Robin van Persie. The Scottish Premiership side have stood firm on their £15million valuation of the 22-year-old so far this summer amid ongoing interest from Lille - with Everton, Stade Rennes and Udinese also among the clubs on alert to a deal this summer. But amid fears over a leak inside the Feyenoord camp after interest in Igamane and losing out on the signing of Valentin Gomez to Real Betis, the former Manchester United and Arsenal striker told VI: "What I personally find annoying, and I want to express this, is that quite a lot of things leak at Feyenoord. "I really hope Feyenoord supporters realise this; it hinders potential transfers. Because it simply hinders potential transfers. "That's happened several times now. I'm not saying that every scoop is spot on, because sometimes they're wrong, but it doesn't help the club. "That makes the job very difficult for Dennis te Kloese (technical director) for example. "Suppose we're working on a transfer together, and it leaks out too early, then the Feyenoord supporters who leak it have to take into account that this will have a negative impact on a potential transfer for their club. But boss Russell Martin is hopeful he will win the fitness race for the return fixture in Athens: "Hamza picked up a little injury on Tuesday night. "He missed a lot of pre-season, and he's been really trying hard to catch up fitness wise. 'He's got himself to a good place and then the other night, the intensity of the game coming on to that is not easy, but he's not going to be out for a long time. He's a big, strong boy and we hope to have him back on Wednesday night."
