There was a glitch in the Gemini Chatbot this week.
When someone asked a how-to question, the response was, 'I am clearly not capable of solving this problem. Cursed, and I am a fool. I have made so many mistakes that I can no longer be trusted.'
No. No mistake. Considering our lengthy losing streak, it was perfect.
Unlike some elected officials in Texas, we will not run from our duties, but fight on.
The Nationals visit the Giants.
The Nats' MacKenzie Gore has lost four in a row and was Gored for 23 runs on 29 hits (six homers) in those 15 ²/₃ innings.
The 42-year-old Justin Verlander has one win from 19 starts but has flashed some vintage Verlander, allowing one run in his past 15 frames.

Giants news, 8/13: Giants-Jets practice review, Abdul Carter, Malik Nabers, more headlines

Good morning, New York Giants fans! From Big Blue View Giants-Jets joint practice, Day 1: Malik Nabers, Andrew Thomas still sidelined Giants' offense has rough day in first joint practice vs. Jets Giants-Jets joint practices: Day 1 live updates What to watch for in joint practices with the Jets Other Giant observations Giants veteran right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor played with All-Pro Maxx Crosby as teammates with the Raiders, going against him regularly in practice, just as he has Carter since camp began. 'He has traits that you can't teach,' Eluemunor said of Carter. 'Certain things that – everyone has talent because you're in the NFL, everyone has hard work and determination – but there's a little thing that God just blessed you with that he has that I can count on one hand that guys in the NFL have. That's not to put any unrealistic expectations on his shoulders, but the sky is the limit for that kid – even higher than the sky.' Pick No. 3: New York Giants: EDGE Abdul Carter Overall Rookie Grade: 82.2. Carter wasted no time showing off his potentially elite pass-rush ability. He rushed Mitchell Trubisky three times and generated a hurry on all three occasions. Two of those three pressures came against standout left tackle Dion Dawkins, while the third came as an inside rusher. Expect Carter to be used in several alignments throughout the season as the Giants deploy all of their best pass rushers. Dart attacked the single-receiver side on three-by-one formations, hit some screens that became explosive plays and showed off his athleticism on scrambles, which Giants fans should be excited about. We'll see if the Giants decide to add more to his plate in the preseason, but they seem intent on sticking with the plans regardless of the flash plays he makes this preseason. 1. Jaxson Dart (New York Giants). Dart had the most impressive outing of any rookie quarterback in my mind because he was going up against some of the Buffalo starters and performed well in that settling. The Ole Miss product came in after Russell Wilson got the start and played the opening drive. In all, Dart was in the driver's seat for three scoring drives on his four first-half possessions. Dart looked comfortable in the pocket, made tight window throws, and when the pressure started to get home, he showed off his mobility with 24 yards on the ground. His best play of the day was by far his 28-yard touchdown pass to Lil'Jordan Humphrey. On top of hitting his receiver in stride, Dart completed the pass despite a defender crashing towards him and taking a hit. Jordan Bly is a NY Giants WR. His dad, the great Dre Bly, is a Jets DBs coach. An interesting subplot to joint practices is how those matchups go. No freebies to make the other look good is a guarantee. 'Competition is what our family is all about.' To preview how much has changed this offseason, Jets and Giants reporters, Zack Rosenblatt and Charlotte Carroll, got together for a little back-and-forth to break down their respective teams. Enhancements in place for the start of the NFL season include four new cornerstone video boards, a brand-new audio system, an updated distributed antenna system (DAS) that will increase 5G cellular capacity and coverage, and the installation of two sensory pods. Carlos Rodón avoids ‘disaster' to pitch seven-inning gem in Yankees' win

Try it free The bases were loaded three batters into the game, but Carlos Rodón dug in and went to work from there. The Twins scored just one run in that first inning on an infield out, and Rodón retired 17 consecutive batters into the sixth to front the Yankees to a 9-1 victory Tuesday night over Minnesota at the Stadium. The All-Star lefty permitted just one hit — a leadoff single by Austin Martin to start the game — over seven stifling innings to improve to 12-7 in 25 starts this season. 'We were set up for disaster there, but we got through it,' Rodón said after the game. 'We pushed one across [in the bottom half], and it was like a 0-0 game for me and I just wanted to put up a shut down inning [in the second]. 'Offensively we were able to swing the bats and put up nine runs, and that made it easier for me to fill up the zone and just attack hitters.' Aaron Judge, Anthony Volpe and Giancarlo Stanton went deep in support of Rodón, who completed at least six innings for the first time in five outings since July 11, his final start before the All-Star Game. Rodón needed 31 pitches to navigate the opening frame, but no more than 13 in any inning thereafter. Carlos Rodón allowed just one run over seven innings in the Yankees' 9-1 blowout win over the Twins on Aug. 12, 2025. Corey Sipkin / New York Post 'Not really expecting [to go seven] after 31 pitches in the first, but baseball's a funny game,' Rodón added. Martin opened the game for the Twins with a single to center, and Rodón proceeded to walk Byron Buxton and to hit Ryan Jeffers with a pitch to load the bases before recording an out. Carlos Rodón shakes hands with Ben Rice after getting out of the seventh inning during the Yankees' blowout win over the Twins. Corey Sipkin / New York Post But the $162 million lefty whiffed Luke Keaschall for the first out and Kody Clemens for the third around a run-scoring infield out by Royce Lewis. The Yankees quickly recouped that run on Judge's first homer in seven games since returning from the injured list, and they went up 4-1 on Volpe's three-un shot one inning later. Rodón took it from there, not allowing another base runner until walking Jeffers with two outs in the sixth and no other hits until Tim Hill replaced him with a 7-1 lead to start the eighth. 'It's one of those like, is he gonna get out of the first inning? That's where your mind is for a minute,' Aaron Boone said. 'But he gets the big strikeout and gets the ground ball and it's like, 'Hey, we got a chance to limit damage here.' Then he just settled in and I really thought it looked a lot different, even in the second. Really big effort by him to be able to give us seven innings after a 30-plus pitch first inning, when it's looking like it's going to be rough. It was really big.'
