Telangana CM Revanth vows to make facts public on KLIS after KCR's deposition
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday stated he would make public all facts on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme within two days.
'Now that KCR (former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao) has appeared before Justice PC Ghose Commission to present his views, I would soon hold a press conference to place the facts before the public,' Revanth told reporters during an informal interaction in Delhi.
The chief minister also rejected reports of a discussion with the Congress high command regarding allocation of portfolios to the newly inducted ministers. 'Without the PCC chief, deputy chief minister and other senior leaders in Delhi, how can such discussions happen?' he asked.
Revanth made it clear that if any minister claimed to be overburdened with work, his portfolios would be reallocated.
He stated that the purpose of his Delhi visit was to explain Telangana's caste survey model to Karnataka's chief minister and deputy chief minister. 'AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi also attended the meeting,' Revanth pointed out.
Asked about the recent Cabinet expansion, he stated that social justice has been followed, with 55% of posts allotted to SC, ST and BC communities.
He pointed out that KCR, during his second term, did not induct his own son into the Cabinet for six months, whereas the present government had already appointed 15 ministers including the new appointees.

New Delhi: In a scathing attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, the Congress party on Thursday alleged that the religious sanctity of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, has been compromised by the unchecked proliferation of liquor shops. The party also accused the state administration of concealing the actual death toll during the Kumbh Mela stampede. Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai said that Ayodhya, considered a holy city by millions of Hindus, has been turned into a liquor hub under the current government, despite its claims of being the custodian of Lord Ram's legacy. Rai disclosed that an 'umpteen number of liquor shops' have been opened throughout Ayodhya, and presented video evidence from a prominent YouTube news channel to back his claim. The report showed alcohol being sold in nearly every corner of the city. This, Rai pointed out, was in clear violation of the Municipal Corporation's ban on the sale and supply of liquor within a 13-kilometre radius of the city's central sacred zone. 'On one hand, the BJP claims to be the devotee of Lord Ram, and on the other, it is promoting liquor in his very birthplace. This is not only hypocrisy, but an outright insult to the faith of crores of Hindus,' Rai said. The Congress leader also leveled serious charges against the Yogi Adityanath-led government over the alleged underreporting of deaths that occurred during the Kumbh Mela stampede. Quoting a leading national media outlet, Rai stated that while 82 people had actually died, the government officially acknowledged only 37 fatalities. He further alleged that 19 individuals who perished during the Mahakumbh stampede were completely erased from the records. 'There is no mention of these victims, no compensation was offered to their families, and they have effectively been declared non-existent in the eyes of the government,' Rai said.

KTR slams Congress govt for crippling farm & education in Telangana
Hyderabad, June 13 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of gross negligence towards agriculture and education sectors. In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), KTR alleged that the Congress government has failed to show any commitment to the farming community or the state's education system. He said that even as the monsoon season begins, there is no clarity or preparedness regarding the implementation of the farmer assurance schemes. KTR criticised the government's inaction on several fronts, including what he termed as a 'meagre loan waiver,' the absence of farmer assurance and pending insurance dues, and the stalling of key agricultural projects. He expressed concern that agriculture, which he described as having become a "festival" during the BRS's decade-long rule, is now facing severe setbacks under the Congress regime in just over a year. Highlighting the plight of the education sector, KTR said that despite schools reopening, the government continues to display a negligent attitude. He lamented that the robust welfare gurukul system, which flourished under BRS with the establishment of over a thousand residential schools, is now struggling due to a lack of proper support and planning. Haryana education minister calls Hindi national language, pushes to end English in department communication
CHANDIGARH: Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said all work under his department should be done in Hindi as a majority of the state's population speaks the language and it was the "national language". Speaking to reporters in Kurukshetra on Wednesday, Dhanda said people will benefit if government correspondence was done in Hindi. India does not have a national language. Hindi is among the 22 official languages of the country. Addressing mediapersons during an event on Narendra Modi's 11 years as prime minister, Dhanda said, "Hindi is our national language. Why should we work in English? I don't know I can understand it somewhat.... In our state, 90 per cent of the people are far removed from English." Dhanda said the vast majority of people will not understand government correspondence if it is done in English. "We cannot do injustice to 90-95 per cent people for 5-7 per cent people." "So, I said my department will do all work in Hindi so that everyone understands what is written. I would prefer it if all work in Haryana is done in Hindi," the minister said. Later in a post in Hindi on X, Dhanda said, "Hindi is our mother tongue and also our identity. We are proud of our mother tongue. It will be my endeavour that Hindi gets respect and priority in every field and Hindi is implemented everywhere." Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala reacted to the minister's remarks in a post on X on Thursday. He said, "I agree with Mahipal Dhanda that Hindi is our national language. We are proud of it and if someone does not know English, then there is no shame or problem in it". "But as the education minister of Haryana, his statement that our youth, our next generations do not need to learn English along with Hindi is not correct. In this way we will deprive them from progressing in the world. There should be no hesitation in knowing and learning English and there is no need to oppose it unnecessarily," Surjewala posted in Hindi on X. Surjewala said English is a "link language" all over the world, especially in south India. Knowing English opens countless doors to employment as well as technology and science, increasing possibilities, the Congress leader said. "More than one million people from Delhi and the country work in Gurugram alone and most of them are from outside Haryana. Reason - Be it a call centre or a software company, knowing fluent English is mandatory to get a job. "If the youth of Haryana, who are very talented, are well versed in English, then it will help them in getting good employment in their state. This is the criterion for good employment in IT, software, technology companies of Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram," he added. In the age of internet, artificial intelligence, advanced engineering, robotics, solar and hydrogen revolution, the whole world is changing rapidly, Surjewala said. "Knowledge, science, technology and innovation are the keys to the future. The link language for all these is English. Therefore, it is important that we train our youth in English along with Hindi.
