Congress has become Pakistan's spokesperson, speaking its language: Nishikant Dubey

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey came down heavily on the Congress party on Sunday, for the latter's criticism of the Centre over Pakistani Army chief Asim Munir getting an invite for the American military parade and said that it was behaving as a 'spokesperson' of the neighbouring nation. The Parliamentarian accused the Congress party of speaking the language of Pakistan, an enemy nation and said that it was doing so for certain political interests. Dubey, speaking to IANS, said that Congress leaders and spokespersons, including Jairam Ramesh, made a lot of hue and cry over the US government extending the Pak Army chief an invite for its military parade slated for June 14 and called it an 'utter failure' of India's foreign policy. 'But today, the US has denied sending any invite. It has become a habit of the Congress party to mislead and misguide people on issues of national interest. They are acting as the spokespersons of Pakistan,' he alleged. He further said that the Congress party, in its deep-rooted hatred for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has started bringing the nation down with its antics, while its party spokespersons are being seen siding with Pakistani propaganda rather than the national agenda. 'There must be an end to such politics that caters to and seeks to benefit the nation's enemies. Congress, being the principal Opposition party, must understand its responsibility and make amends in its approach,' he added. Brushing aside claims of the Modi government politicising military strikes for political gains, he said that the BJP pursues the politics of nationalism and patriotism, unlike Congress' appeasement and vote-bank politics. He accused the Congress party of appeasing and wooing a certain religious community with its repeated 'praise' for Pakistan and also endorsement of its fake propaganda. He said that the BJP has also always stood against Pakistan and acts of terror. 'The nation got hurt and scarred by multiple terror attacks during the UPA regimes, including the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, leaving more than 175 dead and then again the metropolitan city getting hit in 2011, leaving over 25 dead. It was because of the Congress government's timid response that Pakistan got emboldened and continued abetting terror on our soil,' the BJP MP stated. He said that Congress must see its own 'blemished' past rather than questioning the BJP's policy of nation first.

‘Harming Indians will invite punishment', HM Shah on Op Sindoor

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that through the anti-terror Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a strong message across the world that the bloodshed of Indians will invite punishment. Speaking after handing over appointment letters to 60,244 Uttar Pradesh Police constables, including 12,048 women, HM Shah said, 'I congratulate our armed forces for precision strikes that demolished the terror hubs.' He also compared PM Modi's strong response to terror strikes with the Congress era, which witnessed frequent attacks but no response. Hailing the current era of 'Sashakt Bharat', HM Shah highlighted the strides made by the nation in reducing poverty, space technology, education, aviation, opportunities for the youth, computer-based skilling and urban mobility through Metro networks. HM Shah said that under PM Modi, even internal security in the country has improved. 'Earlier, 11 districts were affected by Maoism, but today Left Wing Extremism is present only in three districts,' he said. 'Mark my words, Maoism will be eradicated from the country by March 21, 2026,' he said. Highlighting the economy's growth under PM Modi, HM Shah said, 'By 2027, the country will become the third largest economy. When PM Modi took charge, our economy was the 11 largest.' HM Shah also highlighted PM Modi's vision for impartial social upliftment and said in the last 11 years, 25 crore people have emerged from poverty, crores of people have got cooking gas cylinders, free ration, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, and farmers have started getting Rs 6,000 every year. Targeting the previous Samajwadi Party-led government in the state, the Home Minister said that before 2017, the law and order situation in UP was deteriorating steadily, but under the BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath, the state police has returned to the track of improvement and revival. Today, under CM Adityanath, goons don't call the shots and criminals don't enjoy any VIP treatment, he said, referring to the alleged lawlessness in the state under the previous Samajwadi Party government. Pointing to the hurdles created by the SP government in police reforms, he said, 'During the first three years of PM Modi's government, the state police did not benefit from efforts for improvement.' HM Shah also hit out at the SP government for corruption in recruitment, saying the current hiring of 60,244 constables in UP Police has been done without any 'Kharchi-Parchi' and only on the basis of merit. 'Earlier, recruitments used to take place on a caste basis, but not anymore. The current hiring has been done transparently,' he said, expressing satisfaction over the appointment of 12,048 women as constables. --IANS rch/dpb

Contribute now New Delhi: The Union government has no information about the social media handles who had unleashed vicious troll attacks on foreign secretary Vikram Misri and his daughter during last month's military conflict with Pakistan, right to information (RTI) queries have revealed. The Wire had reported that Misri locked his X account on May 11 after he was viciously trolled on social media following the ceasefire announced between India and Pakistan. No one from the Union government, including external affairs minister S. Jaishankar, has yet condemned the trolling or come out in his support. Misri as foreign secretary helmed the Ministry of External Affairs's briefings during the four-day military conflict with Pakistan following the launch of Operation Sindoor. The move to lock his account came after right-wing X accounts called him a 'traitor' and blamed him for the ceasefire, dug out old posts that he had shared of his family, and targeted his daughter for studying abroad and 'providing legal aid to Rohingya refugees from Myanmar'. Venkatesh Nayak, director of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, filed separate RTI queries with the Ministry of External Affairs as well as the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology seeking a list of social media accounts that have been identified by the competent agency in each of the ministries that are known to have initiated and participated in the trolling and online abuse of Misri and his family. Both ministries reverted with identical replies saying that there is no such information available on the topic. In his appeal filed to the Ministry of External Affairs following its response saying it had no information, Nayak wrote that the government has acted to 'take down other kinds of offensive content from social media and other digital media platforms, in the past'. 'Other public authorities under this Government have quickly acted to invoke the relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the applicable Information Technology Rules, to get CERT-IN to take down other kinds of offensive content from social media and other digital media platforms, in the past. It is unbelievable that this Ministry has not acted in a similar manner with regard to the recent trolling of the Foreign Secretary,' he wrote in his appeal. 'The CPIO [central public information officer]'s obtuse and evasive reply amounts to admitting that this Government did nothing to take action against the social media accounts and their offensive operators who attacked the Foreign Secretary with extreme prejudice and using very offensive language. 'This does not inspire any degree of confidence in the minds of us, the citizenry, about this Government's ability to protect its senior functionaries from attacks on social media platforms. This also does not align with this Government's policy of not keeping quiet when violence is committed against Indian citizens and their property by external enemies and their local agents,' he added. However, in response to his appeal, Nayak got the same reply from the ministry of external affairs: 'The information is not available with this office.' While the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology also said that it does not have any information about the topic, Nayak is yet to file an appeal with it.
