Bianca Umali and Faith Da Silva expressed their deep commitment to delivering excellent performances in 'Sang'gre,' which is a heartfelt gift to the fans of 'Encantadia.'
In Aubrey Carampel's report on '24 Oras' Friday, Bianca expressed gratitude for the positive feedback they have received from fans.
'Nakakatunaw ng puso eh 'yung makita namin 'yung feedback. Ang saya kasi hindi mo alam kung anong ie-expect mo eh kasi siyemore dahil ang tagal nang nagihihintay nung mga tao at nakaabang 'yung Encantadiks,' she said.
Bianca described the experience as encompassing 'a whole lot of experiences and emotions and 'yung mentality na dinedicate ko sa show na 'to.'
She has spent two years working on the project.
'Sana po ay magustuhan ninyo ang bagong henerasyon, kasama ng lumang henerasyon, ang 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.' Muli, hindi po biro. Talagang ito po is not just a project for me anymore. This project is a gift to me, and also, hopefully, it is a gift that you will all love in return,' she said.
Faith, who portrays the character Flamarra, described her role as potentially braver.
'Kasi nanggaling ako sa kampo ng mga Punjabwe at Hathoria. So 'yung pagsamahin mo 'yung dalawang kampo na 'yon, ibig sabihin mas matigas talaga ang ulo pero may puso. May puso pa rin,' she said.
Faith said that their main goal for the series is 'Maipakita namin siya nang excellent.'
'At nang makita namin 'yung mga tao na 'yung pagtanggap talaga nila eh. Tsaka kung gaano nila ka-miss siguro 'yung 'Encantadia,'' she said.
On Friday, GMA released separate teaser videos for Bianca's and Faith's characters, Terra and Flamarra. The teasers gave a closer look into their characters and allowed viewers to witness their fighting skills.
Bianca and Faith are joined by Kelvin Miranda and Angel Guardian as the new generation of Sang'gres.
Bianca will play the role of Terra, the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Lupa; Faith's Flamarra is the keeper of the Brilyante ng Apoy; Angel will portray the role of Deia, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin; and Kelvin will be the first male Sang'gre as Adamus, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Tubig.

Michael V. to take legal action if deepfake creator continues deception

Michael V. will take legal action if the content creator behind the deepfake video that used his identity continues his deception. In Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the Kapuso Comedy Genius said that he was alarmed by the video falsely showing him endorsing a product. "Alam ko kasi maraming mga netizens, maraming mga mahilig sa social media na baka maapektuhan in a negative way, baka maniwala," Bitoy said. "Titingnan natin kung ano gagawin niya kasi 'pagka persistent siya, 'pagka gumawa ulit siya ng aksyon at inulit niya, mukhang gagawan na namin ng legal action," he said. Other prominent personalities who have also recently fallen victim to deepfakes are Mel Tiangco, Vicky Morales, Mariz Umali, and Dr. Gary Sy, who filed a complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), citing the negative impact on his patients and his reputation as a doctor. "Natatakot ako na kapag may nangyari sa kanila, ay ako ang mabuntungan nila," Dr. Gary said. According to Roberto Tayag, CEO of Asia Pacific CyberQ Group, it is challenging for an unsuspecting viewer to immediately scrutinize a video they don't expect to be a deepfake. In response to the rising number of complaints from individuals deceived by fake endorsements, the Department of Information and Technology (DICT) said that they are already taking action against the spread of deepfake content. The department is in discussions with telecommunications companies and social media platforms to implement proactive measures to prevent such fake endorsements. "Ang tawag po doon sa mekanismo na iyon ay geo-blocking/geo locking. 'Yung same na mechanism po ng technology na 'yan 'yung sinasabi ko sa mga streaming platform at sa mga social media platform. Alam n'yo, kaya niyo namang i-prevent 'yan proactively eh," DICT secretary Henry Aguda said. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

Michelle Dee gives update following dog bite

Michelle Dee gave an update after her pet dog accidentally bit her on the face. In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the Sparkle star assured that it was only a freak accident with no aggression from her pet. "Her mouth was open, my face was right [beside her], kasi magkatabi kami eh. So parang naganun lang. And that's why the abrasion is actually not super deep. It was just really skin," Michelle said. Michelle reminds the public to act quickly in similar situations. "First thing is get your anti-tetanus and your rabies shots. With things like this, there are no cures, so you don't want to take the chance. I can't miss a beat and I think my next shot is tomorrow," she said. After leaving the emergency room, Michelle headed to Dr. Vicki Belo's clinic. "Dun ako nakahinga after the experts saw what happened. It should heal in the next two to three weeks," she said. Meanwhile, Michelle said that she will release a new music video for "Reyna" in celebration of pride month. "It's very camp. It's a little different from the music video that came out but still very close to my heart. And siyempre, abangan din po natin 'yung second single ko that's coming out very, very soon. I can't wait for that also," she said. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
