
Target of 50k home loans achieved: CM
She was commenting on the achievement of the target of disbursing loans for more than 50,000 houses by June 2025 under the low-cost housing initiative,
According to official figures, 51,911 home construction loans have been issued so far, amounting to Rs57.9 billion disbursed under the project.
The initiative has already led to the completion of 5,293 houses, now occupied by families, while 41,324 homes are currently under construction across the province. The citizens have been able to apply for home loans online.
CM Maryam Nawaz said, "The Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar project is designed to create genuine ease and empowerment for the people."
She added that every eligible applicant, regardless of political affiliation, is receiving support under the programme.
"We have not only made history, we intend to break our own records," she added. The CM credited the success of the initiative to the vision of PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

CM for comprehensive plan to support wheat farmers
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities concerned to start a comprehensive plan to support wheat farmers in order to increase production of wheat. She also directed them to take necessary measures to reduce cost of agricultural inputs before wheat sowing in Punjab. She further directed them to ensure abundant availability of fertilizer before wheat sowing. She said, 'Targeted subsidy should be given to small wheat farmers in relief.' The Chief Minister agreed to a proposal to provide interest-free loans of Rs 100 billion to farmers before wheat sowing. She was briefed in detail by the relevant authorities, 'Timely sowing of wheat is essential for better production in Punjab.' She was also apprised, 'A total of Rs 63 billion subsidy was given to farmers in Punjab during two months, and farmers obtained interest-free loans of Rs 50 billion through Kisan Card.' The CM noted, 'A subsidy of Rs 13 billion was given under the Chief Minister's Wheat Support Program, and the use of fertilizers, especially DAP, has increased in Punjab due to Kisan Card Project.' The chief minister said, "Timely sowing of wheat is essential for better production in Punjab." She was informed that subsidy worth Rs63 billion had been provided to farmers in Punjab in two months. Farmers obtained interest-free loans of Rs50 billion through the Kisan Card. She noted, "A subsidy of Rs13 billion was given under the Chief Minister's Wheat Support Programme, and the use of fertilisers, especially DAP, has increased in Punjab due to the Kisan Card Project."
