After several months of heartbreak and uncertainty, actress and singer Shruti Haasan has finally located her missing cat, Cora. However, the emotional reunion wasn't as simple as expected. Though she managed to spot her feline companion after a long search, Cora was visibly injured, frail, and weak—and, to Shruti's dismay, the cat showed no intention of returning home. Despite Cora's deteriorated state, she chose to remain away, making the moment bittersweet for her heartbroken owner.'I finally saw my missing kitty Cora again after months and months: she was injured and frail and weak but refused to come back home…(sic)' she wrote in her Instagram Stories.Shruti took to her Instagram stories to share a short update about the encounter. The actress expressed the deep emotional toll the experience had taken on her. Though she showered Cora with affection during their brief meeting, the pain of not being able to bring her home led to tears. The helplessness of being a pet parent in such situations weighed heavily on her. Even with the ache of separation, Shruti found solace in the knowledge that Cora was at least alive and living life on her own terms. It was a reminder of how challenging and emotionally taxing it can be to care for animals who assert their independence, even in the face of suffering.Professionally, Shruti lent her voice to the song 'Vinveli Nayaga,' a song from Mani Ratnam's film Thug Life, which also stars her superstar father, Kamal Haasan. She described it as one of the most personal and moving moments of her career. Sung for her father, the song—set to A.R. Rahman's stirring composition—has resonated deeply with fans, elevating the film's emotional depth and personal resonance.She is set to appear in the much-anticipated action thriller Coolie, starring legendary actor Rajinikanth. The film boasts a powerhouse cast that spans multiple industries, including Telugu icon Nagarjuna, Kannada star Upendra, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir, and Tamil veteran Sathyaraj. There are also reports suggesting that Aamir Khan may appear in a special cameo. The film, produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, is slated for release on August 14, 2025. Key supporting roles will be portrayed by Rebe, Monica John, and Junior MGR.Alongside this, Shruti is preparing to make her international debut with the psychological thriller The Eye. In this film, she stars opposite The Last Kingdom actor Mark Rowley, with Linda Marlowe and Peru Kavalieri playing significant roles. The plot follows a grieving widow who returns to the island where her husband died, intending to scatter his ashes. Upon discovering unsettling truths surrounding his death, she is faced with a dark, emotionally fraught choice.Shruti is also reprising her role in Salaar Part 2 : Shouryaanga Parvam, the sequel to the 2023 hit neo-noir action epic Salaar. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the sequel continues the story of Deva and Varadha in the fictional kingdom of Khansaar. The ensemble cast includes Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, and others.
