Sheikh Mohammed grants 10-day marriage leave for employees
Decree No. (31) of 2025 applies to UAE citizens working in Dubai government departments, judicial authorities, the national military and organisations in special development zones and free zones, including the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Other groups may also be included later if approved by the Chairman of the Executive Council.
To be eligible, the employee must have completed their probation period, be married to a UAE citizen and provide a certified marriage contract dated after December 31, 2024.
Employees can use the marriage leave within one year from the date of their marriage. The leave can be taken all at once or in separate parts, and can also be combined with other types of leave. If an employee cannot use the leave because of national or reserve service, the unused days can be saved and used within one year after returning to work.
Employees cannot be called back to work during marriage leave, unless they are in the military and needed for duty. In that case, any remaining leave will be rescheduled. If an employee transfers to another government department, they will keep any unused marriage leave.

UAE, Jordan planes drop 25 tonnes of aid over Gaza as hundreds die from starvation
Two Jordanian and one Emirati plane dropped 25 tonnes of humanitarian aid over the Gaza Strip on Sunday, the Jordanian army said in a statement. "The Jordanian Armed Forces on Sunday carried out three air drops on the Gaza Strip carrying humanitarian and food aid, one of which was with the United Arab Emirates," the statement said, adding that they were carrying 25 tonnes of aid. On Saturday, July 26, UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed the Emirates would immediately resume airdrop operations to Gaza as part of its ongoing humanitarian mission. In a statement posted, the minister said the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a critical and unprecedented level, underscoring the urgent need for sustained international aid efforts. Israeli army had said a day earlier that Israel would allow foreign countries to parachute aid into Gaza starting on Friday. Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced a pause in military activity in designated areas in Gaza where it is 'not operating' today. It said that the pause will be daily in three areas of Gaza starting on Sunday, starting at 10am and lasting until 8pm.

SIH explores cultural cooperation with Zanzibar
Leadership of the delegation The delegation was headed by His Excellency Dr Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and accompanied by His Excellency Saleh Ahmed Saif Al-Hemeiri, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates to the United Republic of Tanzania in Zanzibar. They were received by His Excellency Dr Aboud Suleiman Jumbe, Principal Secretary of the Zanzibar Ministry of Tourism and Heritage. Enhancing cultural and tourism cooperation The visit included discussions on prospects for bilateral cooperation through the implementation of cultural initiatives and training programmes, as well as documentation projects that contribute to highlighting Emirati and Zanzibar heritage on the international stage. The meeting also addressed ways to support cultural tourism as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.
