Metro...In Dino actor Pranay Pachauri: OTT is more of an actor's medium; films feel more star-driven
Pranay Singh Pachauri Pranay Singh Pachauri, who has previously been seen in projects like The Kerala Story, Andhera, Very Parivarik (Seasons 1 and 2), and Chhal Kapat – The Deception, is now on the big screen with his latest film, Metro… In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu . In the anthology, he plays Rohan, a man who has always been in love with his college friend Jhinuk. 'But she married his best friend, who is no more. Since Rohan and Jhinuk have feelings for each other, they are caught in an awkward situation. It leaves them in a moral dilemma — whether to love or not,' he explains. For a character that complex, Pachauri believes a director with vision and sensitivity is key. Recalling the moment he was cast in the film, he shares, 'I went to meet Anurag (Basu) Da after he saw my audition. I was extremely nervous, thinking he wanted to re-audition me. I entered the office, and Anurag Da sat me down, looked at me for a minute, then suddenly laughed and said, 'Balle Balle, you're doing the film'. I was ecstatic and also confused, but he's such a warm and kind person. I feel lucky to have worked with him.' Pranay with director Anurag Basu Having worked across both OTT and film formats, he reflects on the creative differences between the two. 'OTT allows for more immersive storytelling and characters that stay with the audience. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Providers are furious: Internet access without a subscription! These days, larger-than-life or action-heavy films seem to draw audiences for that cinematic experience,' he says. He adds, 'In my experience, OTT feels more creatively liberating. I've had the chance to play different characters across shows, which has helped me grow both as an actor and a person. Films still tend to be more star-driven, whereas OTT has become more of an actor's medium — and that's something I find exciting and challenging.'

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Metro In Dino earned around Rs 6 crore on its second day at the box office, following an opening day collection of Rs 3.35 crore. The evening shows reported 38.95% occupancy, while the night shows peaked at 47.26%. A post shared by Sara Ali Khan (@saraalikhan95) Indian Express' film critic Shubhra Gupta gave Metro In Dino three stars and wrote in her review, 'Sara Ali Khan plays a Kareena Kapoor-coded character in Anurag Basu's annoying and exhilarating film. This really should be a series, because life is unruly and ungainly, spilling over the edges, annoying and exhilarating, in equal measure, and when Metro In Dino is at its best, it catches all those beats.' Metro In Dino is the spiritual sequel of Anurag Basu's 2007 hit Life In A Metro. The film also stars Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Saswata Chatterjee, Darshana Bainik, Kush Jotwani and Rohan Gurbaxani.
