Angel Reese becomes second-youngest WNBA player to record triple-double
Angel Reese recorded her first triple double, Hailey Van Lith led a dominant performance by the Chicago bench with a career-high 16 points and the Sky pulled away from the Connecticut Sun for a 78-66 win on Sunday.
Reese, at the age of 23, became the second-youngest WNBA player in history with a triple double. Only Caitlin Clark had a triple double at a younger age; she had two while she was 22.
Fueled by Reese's 11 assists – more than double her previous career high – Chicago put five players in double figures. The Sky bench outscored the Sun reserves 36-2 in the Commissioner's Cup game.
Reese also had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Chicago (3-7). Kia Nurse had 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting with three threes, and Kamilla Cardoso and Ariel Atkins both had 10 points. Reserve Rachel Banham made her 300th career three-pointer.
Marina Mabrey scored 22 points with five threes for the Sun (2-8). Tina Charles added 19 points and Jacy Sheldon had 12.
Both teams shot 40% and made six three-pointers in the first half but the Sky were perfect on eight free throws to take a 38-36 lead. Mabrey was the only player in double figures with 16.
Mabrey's three and two free throws by Charles gave Connecticut a 47-44 lead early in the second half but Michaela Onyenwere and Reese converted three-point plays to make it 51-48. The Sky led 59-54 entering the fourth quarter.

Charlie Woods hints at tense relationship with dad Tiger in Father's Day message
In a heartful message written for Father's Day, amateur golfer Charlie Woods hinted that there may be some tension with his dad, Tiger Woods. Charlie, 16, wrote a letter to Tiger in a video posted to the account of the American Junior Golf Association. The son of Tiger and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Charlie and his sister Sam live in Palm Beach, Florida with their dad and attend The Benjamin School - where Charlie is on the golf team. As images from Charlie's recent AJGA win at the Team TaylorMade Invitational played, he narrated the message he wrote to his father. 'Thank you, Dad, for believing in me in times when I didn't even believe in myself, and for all the times when you have supported me no matter what I do,' Charlie wrote. 'Even though we argue a lot, I still cherish every moment and I would just like to say thank you for everything you have done for me.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by American Jr Golf Association (@ajgagolf) Charlie didn't say exactly why he and his famous father argue - whether it's typical teenage-related angst or if it could have something to do with golf. Regardless, it's a kind gesture from the up-and-coming golfer who saw his AJGA ranking jump from No. 606 to No. 14 after his TaylorMade win. It's been an eventful year for the Woods family after Tiger went public with his relationship with Vanessa Trump and Tiger's mother, Kultida, passed away in February. Tiger himself has been absent from the course after suffering an injury to his Achilles as he prepared for the Masters back in April. However, he was recently seen without a brace on his knee riding a golf cart while watching Charlie. With The Open Championship coming up next month, it's unclear if Tiger will have rehabbed his injury in time.

Tijjani Reijnders draws inspiration from Ilkay Gündogan in search for more goals
Tijjani Reijnders aims to emulate Ilkay Gündogan as a goalscoring No 8 for Manchester City after his €55m (£46.6m) move from Milan last week. Reijnders has been signed by Pep Guardiola to be a dynamic box‑to‑box midfielder and the 26-year-old Dutchman is clear regarding who he will look to at City. 'Gündogan is someone I can learn a lot from,' he said. 'It's nice to see him nearby and the way he does it.' Asked whether this included the German's ability to score via late runs into the area, Reijnders said: 'That is what I did last season with Milan, being more on the scoresheet. It's very important to score goals as a midfielder and it's what I'm looking for; that and assists.' Reijnders scored 10 times in 37 Serie A appearances in the past season, a sizeable increase on three in 36 in the previous campaign. In all competitions he scored 15 times in 2024‑25, compared with four in 2023-24. 'The first season at Milan I wasn't calm in my head when I had opportunities and it was something I was thinking about in the summer after,' he said. 'I watched clips of myself when I got into those situations and tried to adapt to those kinds of things in the second season, to be calmer in front of goal. The No 8 position is why they [City] got me. Now I have to fill the No 8 and do my best to show that I should play.' City begin their Club World Cup campaign against the Moroccan side Wydad at Philadelphia's Lincoln Field on Wednesday, before taking on Al Ain, of the United Arab Emirates, and Juventus in their other Group G games. Reijnders said: 'We take it very seriously. We want to win every tournament we play. This is nothing different. 'It's going to be hard, there are a lot of good teams and the weather is very hot. We're getting used to it and we'll be ready for Wednesday.' With Rayan Aït-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki also signing this summer, and Kevin De Bruyne departing, Reijnders was asked whether there is a sense of a fresh start at City. 'De Bruyne left but the base is still there,' he said. 'You see what the standards are in training and outside the pitch. The boys are helping me with it all and it gives me a good feeling. 'You can always have a season like they did last season [winning nothing], after all those years – after they won four [Premier League titles] in a row, for example – and it's up to us now to change that now and win prizes.'
