Daniella Westbrook wedding 'on the cards' to 'soulmate' ex-addict boxer
Danniella Westbrook has had her fair share of life dramas – but after going public with a new man, a source claims she's in a 'love bubble' and 'ready to commit'. The actress, who joined EastEnders at 16 years old and played Sam Mitchell on and off until 2016, appeared to be smitten with bare knuckle boxer Charlie 'Chasa Real Talk' Symonds on a sun-soaked break to Greece.
Danniella and Chasa are believed to have been friends for six years, but have clearly taken their relationship to a new level and were seen packing on the PDAs. The mum of two, 51, was beaming as she and Croydon-born Charlie kissed and splashed around in the water. And now a source claims exclusively to OK! that what started as a close friendship has grown into something much deeper – and they've already talked about next steps.
'Danniella feels that she's found her soulmate. Chasa doesn't judge her one bit and doesn't care what has happened in her past. He understands all about the issues she's been through but is supportive – he just wants to make her happy. She's really smitten and feels like she can trust him, which is a really big deal for her.
'This is something she's prayed for for a long time, it could be something special. She is thinking about marriage and definitely wants to tie the knot with him, it's a no brainer for her and she's ready to commit fully. They're in a love bubble so wedding bells are definitely on the cards.'
It's been more than two decades since Danniella's nasal septum collapsed from excessive cocaine use, and she revealed a few years ago that she was still trying to repair the damage caused, as well as the effects of osteoporosis. Her appearance has since changed dramatically thanks to corrective surgeries, but our source claims she would happily go under the knife again to achieve bridal perfection, adding: 'She would definitely have more surgery and get some tweaks before getting married, she's very much dedicated to repairing her looks and looking the best she can.
'She's already had a lot of operations, but she wants to go on until she feels content. Now she's found 'the one' she wants to make sure she's looking her best.' The former Dancing On Ice star, who has battled addiction for much of her adult life, revealed that her life had'changed dramatically' since losing her dad in January 2024, and she'd 'pulled herself back from the brink again.' She wrote on her socials last month: 'I got myself back into recovery and [have] taken the right opportunities that have come and do come my way. I feel so grateful, blessed and useful.'
She gave her intrigued fans a peek into her budding romance when she hinted in another recent snap of the pair that 'a holiday romance was brewing', and that 'it may just become an everlasting love'. Charlie, 42, is a retired English professional welterweight boxer and is currently signed to Conor McGregor 's Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he walks into the ring as the 'Croydon Bomber'
The pair are believed to have reconnected in Dubai at the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships) where Chasa was competing – and have been enjoying quality time together since. He opened up last year about his own experiences of drugs, confessing he'd 'gone down a dark road' but had been in recovery for more than seven years since hitting rock bottom.
After going public, it seems Charlie and Danniella's fans are especially keen to see them go the distance. On one of the most recent snaps of them on Instagram, one follower urged the bare knuckle fighter to 'wife that one up, bro' – to which they both replied with red heart and hand-clapping emojis. Another person added: 'Please stay together forever' while another wrote: 'I've not seen you two so happy in a long time, long may it continue.'
Things also seem to be looking up for Danniella when it comes to her relationship with her two children – Kai and Jodie – who she's been estranged from at various points in their lives. In 2023, the actress claimed she was heartbroken after her grown-up daughter Jodie, who she shares with ex husband Kevin Jenkins, had 'cut' her out of her life with no explanations.
After a few followers posted on Jodie's social media urging her to get back in touch with her mum, she responded with a polite: 'If you don't know the situation please don't comment, thank you.' But it seems time can be a great healer and as of last month, things appeared to be improving. 'Having both my children back in contact with me and rebuilding what I broke is something I never thought I would get a chance to do,' Danniella said.
'The blessings just keep on coming one day at a time.' Our source says the TV star takes full responsibility for what's happened in the past but is determined to get things back on track. 'She's learned from her past mistakes, she's back in touch with her daughter and is so happy about it. She'll do everything she can to make sure things remain positive between them.' Hopefully Danniella gets the happiness she wants .

EastEnders Avani in heartbreaking baby twist
EASTENDERS Avani's baby storyline takes a heartbreaking twist, leaving Sukii devastated. Over the last few weeks, viewers have watched Suki (Balvinder Sopal) try to manipulate teenage Avani (Aaliyah James) into having her baby – just so she can raise it herself. 4 4 4 4 Eve (Heather Peace) was left gobsmacked after discovering Suki's shocking plan to adopt Avani's baby. Furious, she lashed out, accusing her of manipulating the teen and calling her some pretty harsh words. But in a bizarre U-turn later that same night, after Avani had a heart-to-heart with Eve, she somehow managed to talk her round. However, things have no come to a head in the latest episode of EastEnders, which has already dropped on the iPlayer. Those tuning in tonight will see Suki became suspicious of Avani and Eve when they make an excuse to go off together, unaware they are going to an abortion clinic. Worried about lying to her wife, Eve says: "I think we should tell Suki, I don't think I can keep something this big from her because we've promised to be honest with each other." After terminating her pregnancy the tearful teen tells Eve she wants to find her mum Priya and tell her the truth. "I just really want my mum. I want to tell her everything," she cries. The pair head home and Suki soon arrives back to, and she receives the news that Avani has had a termination. Confirming the news, she says: "There is no baby." EastEnders fans SWITCH OFF slamming 'worst episode' as backlash grows to controversial pregnancy storyline Suki then turns to Eve who says she is "sorry". Meanwhile, the controversial storyline has received a huge public backlash. Last week fans were left fuming, with many slamming the plot as "abysmal" and asking, "What the hell did I just watch?" Viewers have slammed the storyline as 'unrealistic' and 'garbage', with some even vowing to ditch the soap for good. Most complained about soap storylines Over the years, all three of the main soaps have featured plots that have had even die-hard fans reaching for their phones and laptops so they can get in touch with Ofcom and complain. Here are just some of the most scandalous... EastEnders baby theft: 13,400 Ofcom complaints - Back in 2011, EastEnders was flooded with complaints when Ronnie Branning (RIP) swapped her baby for the dead son of Kat Moon. The storyline drew the most number of objections in the soap's long history and saw it roundly criticised by campaigners - with 13,400 flying in over the course of the storyline. Some viewers called it 'distressing' and 'horrific' but Ofcom ruled the scenes were not "unduly disturbing'. Emmerdale dog-napping: 550 Ofcom complaints - Back in 2016, Ross Barton and Charity Dingle came up with a plan to steal a dog and hold it ransom - but viewers didn't like it one bit. The nation's pet owners rose up, insisting the storyline would encourage copycats (not to mention copydogs). Complaints over two episodes totalled a staggering 550 and soap writers quickly learnt you don't mess with animal-lovers. Coronation Street double murder: 546 Ofcom complaints - Marginally less people complained about a gruesome double murder than objected to a dog-napping plot when Pat Phelan was at the centre of a spate of killings. First he forced Andy Carver to shoot dead Vinny Ashford - and then Pat killed Andy. All the bloodshed back in 2017 proved to be too much for some viewers, who lodged complaints in vast numbers about the 'violent scenes'. Taking to an online forum, one fan wrote: "Avani seems to have had a personality transplant. Does she not remember her step-grandmother has already raised 4 children? This is not her chance." Another said: "The Suki storyline being positioned as some sort of heart-warming tale of motherhood and not the coercion and abuse story that it actually is so inappropriate." To make matters worse, the same episode saw Patrick (Rudolph Walker) suddenly spiral into a gambling problem, despite two decades of betting without a hitch. Viewers were left scratching their heads and branding the writing "tedious" and "a challenge to watch." One said: "I hate how Patrick has gambled for 20+ years and now all of a sudden it's a problem." Another added: "Patrick has gambled since the first day Yolande met him. Now it is a contrived part of the plot for her to call off the wedding.

Strictly 2025 line-up confirms sixth contestant is social media star
The first celebrities for the Strictly Come Dancing's 2025 line-up have been confirmed. The BBC reality competition series hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman is back for another year of jaw-dropping dance routines and emotional journeys for our cohort of famed contestants. Strictly has had a difficult couple of years after pros Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima were removed from the show (and replaced) after behavioural accusations from former partners came out against them. Earlier this month, the long-running series came under scrutiny once more with reports that two stars had used cocaine, and one veteran worker had been offered drugs at a party. Meanwhile, beloved pro Gorka Marquez confirmed he would not be competing this year, much to everyone's devastation, but would make a cameo in some of the group performances. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. Amid all changes, however, it remains one of BBC's flagship shows with a fresh set of faces ready to take to the dance floor. So who is in the official 2025 line-up? The sixth and latest contestant twirling onto the ballroom will be George Clarke. Clarke is known as George Clarkey online, where he is a YouTuber, podcaster and social media star known to millions for his comedy content. He also co-hosts The Useless Hotline Podcast. On joining Strictly, he said: 'Never thought I'd say this, but I'm doing Strictly! Honestly, I've got no idea what I'm doing but I'm excited to get stuck in and potentially fall over a fair bit.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Balvinder Sopal was confirmed as the latest celebrity to join Strictly Come Dancing on Tuesday morning during Good Morning Britain. Richard Arnold was in Walford to confirm that an EastEnders legend was joining the ranks. 'I can't stop butterflies. Every time I think about it, they just go, so, yeah,' the actress who plays Suki in the soap said. 'I dabbled a little bit. I did ballroom and Latin as a kind of hobby, and I really love it. And I think when you've got a passion for something, you're naturally kind of inclined to enjoy it. So I'll definitely enjoy it.' 'I don't know if I'll be any good!,' she added, saying she loved the drama of Latin dancing. 'It is about telling the story with your feet, with your body, and not speaking. So, you know, won't have to learn any lines, which would be great, but it'll be like learning a new language, I think!' she said. She confirmed she'd still be appearing on EastEnders during her stint, and wasn't sure how she'd hack it – but was excited to find out. She added that she thought her mother would be proud of her: 'This is her dream. Actually, I think she would have been extremely proud. So, yeah, hold mom's legacy.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The latest additions to the Strictly line-up were confirmed on Monday's instalment of The One Show, with the secret even kept from hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp. The BBC show confirmed three new names who will battle it out for the glitterball trophy, with Dani Dyer the first to walk out into the studio. How hard was it keeping this a secret? 'So hard,' Dani said on the show. 'Especially when there was speculation and stuff, people kept coming up to me, and I'm such a bad liar. I'm going to have to send so many apologies.' The 28-year-old reality star, and daughter of national treasure Danny Dyer, was rumoured to have signed a pre-show contract earlier this year. When asked what her parents made of the news, Dyer said they're 'so excited'. 'It's just such a fun, magical show,' she said, 'and to be asked to do it was just such an honour. So, yeah, they're just so excited for me.' She did admit she's nervous though. 'I think it's picking up the routines and being on live telly, it petrifies me. It's just the whole thing of being able to perform.' The training starts now! Next up on The One Show was Alex Kingston, who tuned in from a holiday in Italy to confirm she had signed up for the Strictly ballroom. The 62-year-old actor, who played River Song on Doctor Who (aka The Doctor's wife) opposite three Doctors on screen, was one of the names rumoured to be involved ahead of the line-up announcements this week. 'I was super excited, and now I actually am terrified,' she told the programme. Speaking about why she decided to take the plunge, Alex said it was 2024 contestant and fellow actor Sarah Hadland who convinced her. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'In 2019 I did a play with Sarah Hadland and we both admitted that we desperately wanted to be in Strictly,' she told hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp. 'When I then saw Sarah performing last year, I just thought, she's done it, and not only has she done it, she went all the way. 'I reached out and just asked her what her experience of having been part of the show was, and she was really honest with me about how hard it is, how overwhelming it can be, but also how it absolutely changed her life, and she would do it again in a heartbeat. 'It just gave me the chance to make the decision for myself as to whether I wanted to go for it. And I just thought, I'm in my 60s, just go for it.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was the third contestant to appear on The One Show, confirming he will be swapping the pitch for the ballroom. Alex Jones in the BBC One studio was clearly in shock when he appeared, saying she didn't think he would ever agree to it. The ex pro footballer said his four daughters were part of the reason he decided to sign on up to the show. The 53-year-old said from the red studio sofa: 'A few years ago, I would say the same, but I'm a father of all girls, and Strictly is part of our home life. I've got into it. I like the show, and let's have a go. 'Honestly, I have no idea what to expect. I have a little bit of rhythm.' Jimmy played for clubs including Leeds United, Atlético Madrid and Chelsea, carving out a prolific goal-scoring career in the Premier League and across Europe. Since retiring, Jimmy has become a familiar face in football punditry as well as a football club manager of clubs including Burton Albion and Northampton Town. He also served as an assistant coach for the England national team. Olympian and star of BBC's Gladiators, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, was the first famous face confirmed to grace the Strictly ballroom this autumn. The TV personality already took part in last year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special with pro-partner Nancy Xu and now he is back for round two. 'After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I'm ready to give it all I've got. 'I'll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let's hope I'm as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track,' he said in a statement. The multi-gold-medal-winning Team GB sprinter was announced as Nitro in the high-stakes BBC gameshow in 2023. He will no doubt be bringing all his skills to the dance floor. If there is one thing Harry is used to, it's being the best of the best, not only competing at the 2016 Rio Olympics but also securing the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award in 2005 aged 17. Not to mention being a three-time European champion and two-time Commonwealth champion. So he'll be a force to be reckoned with on the dancefloor. As we eagerly await the full line-up, there is still plenty of speculation over who will be joining the confirmed names this year. There are a couple of celebrities who have come out at the top of the rumour mill – including Natalie Imbruglia, 50, and Delta Goodrem, 40, who are said to be in talks to join the show. More Trending A source told The Sun: 'Delta and Natalie would bring some glamour to the programme, and be some of this year's most eagerly anticipated competitors. 'If all three former Neighbours stars end up performing, the Strictly dance floor will end up looking more like Ramsay Street. But the next 24 hours of discussions between execs and the stars' reps are critical.' Strictly Come Dancing returns on September 20, 2025, a week later than its usual start date. BBC Strictly Come Dancing confirms YouTube star as sixth contestant
Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed YouTube star George Clarke as the sixth contestant to join the 2025 line-up of the BBC dance show. Strictly Come Dancing has announced that popular YouTuber George Clarke will be joining the 2025 series line-up. He is the sixth contestant to be revealed this year, following the announcement of EastEnders' Balvinder Sopal as a participant on Good Morning Britain earlier today. The digital influencer, who boasts a following of 678k on Instagram, is renowned for his podcast T he Useless Hotline with Max Balegde. He has also amassed millions of followers across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram through his thriving online career. "Never thought I'd say this... but I'm doing Strictly! Honestly, I've got no idea what I'm doing but I'm excited to get stuck in ... and potentially fall over a fair bit," George expressed his excitement about joining the hit show. This follows rumours about all the celebrities speculated to be participating in BBC's Strictly Come Dancing 2025. While speaking on Radio 1, George humorously remarked: "I feel like a lot of people will be saying who?" He admitted that it "still doesn't feel real". George then revealed to hosts Sam MacGregor and Danni Diston that he had been keeping this secret for approximately 2-3 months - and even had to postpone his marathon plans for the show, reports the Mirror. With the new series of Strictly soon to commence on BBC One, the line-up reveal is underway, with the 2025 stars being gradually unveiled throughout the week. It kicked off with Gladiators' Harry Aikines-Aryeetey announcing his participation on CBBC's Newsround on Monday. Later that evening, The One Show played host to three Strictly stars on its sofa - Love Island victor Dani Dyer, Doctor Who's Alex Kingston and footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Speaking on The One Show last night, Dani expressed that Strictly will be "the second most amazing thing" she'll have accomplished this year, following her summer wedding to footballer Jarred Bowen. "I feel very, very blessed and cannot wait to get my dancing shoes on," she shared. Meanwhile, ex-premiership player turned football manager Jimmy remarked: "Swapping the pitch for the ballroom is certainly not something I've done before but I'm looking forward to tackling a fun challenge! Bring on a new type of footwork, with hopefully no own goals." Earlier in the week, Strictly's fresh professional dancer Julian Caillon admitted that he once orchestrated a row on the show's Australian version to create more drama. "Reality TV is not necessarily what you think," he revealed on the podcast Try with Alex. "A massive aspect of reality TV is not really real. I remember in one episode of Dancing With The Stars, one of my celebrities was late to rehearsals and the producers were asking me to go around and pretend that I was frustrated." The lead-up to Strictly has been filled with drama, as the show is said to be investigating allegations that two of its stars have used cocaine. An insider revealed to The Sun after the news broke: "The BBC is taking the allegations really seriously. Bosses are aware of the two stars in question and have a duty of care to make sure they're OK." They further stated: "As per BBC policy, the option of specialised professional support is on the table and will be offered. While drug testing won't happen on the main show, bosses are considering bringing in random checks for the tour next year."
