Daniella Westbrook wedding 'on the cards' to 'soulmate' ex-addict boxer

Daily Mirror24-05-2025

Things appear to be hotting up between Daniella Westbrook and her bare knuckle fighter boyfriend Charlie Symonds - with a source claiming marriage is even on the cards
Danniella Westbrook has had her fair share of life dramas – but after going public with a new man, a source claims she's in a 'love bubble' and 'ready to commit'. The actress, who joined EastEnders at 16 years old and played Sam Mitchell on and off until 2016, appeared to be smitten with bare knuckle boxer Charlie 'Chasa Real Talk' Symonds on a sun-soaked break to Greece.
Danniella and Chasa are believed to have been friends for six years, but have clearly taken their relationship to a new level and were seen packing on the PDAs. The mum of two, 51, was beaming as she and Croydon-born Charlie kissed and splashed around in the water. And now a source claims exclusively to OK! that what started as a close friendship has grown into something much deeper – and they've already talked about next steps.

'Danniella feels that she's found her soulmate. Chasa doesn't judge her one bit and doesn't care what has happened in her past. He understands all about the issues she's been through but is supportive – he just wants to make her happy. She's really smitten and feels like she can trust him, which is a really big deal for her.
'This is something she's prayed for for a long time, it could be something special. She is thinking about marriage and definitely wants to tie the knot with him, it's a no brainer for her and she's ready to commit fully. They're in a love bubble so wedding bells are definitely on the cards.'
It's been more than two decades since Danniella's nasal septum collapsed from excessive cocaine use, and she revealed a few years ago that she was still trying to repair the damage caused, as well as the effects of osteoporosis. Her appearance has since changed dramatically thanks to corrective surgeries, but our source claims she would happily go under the knife again to achieve bridal perfection, adding: 'She would definitely have more surgery and get some tweaks before getting married, she's very much dedicated to repairing her looks and looking the best she can.
'She's already had a lot of operations, but she wants to go on until she feels content. Now she's found 'the one' she wants to make sure she's looking her best.' The former Dancing On Ice star, who has battled addiction for much of her adult life, revealed that her life had'changed dramatically' since losing her dad in January 2024, and she'd 'pulled herself back from the brink again.' She wrote on her socials last month: 'I got myself back into recovery and [have] taken the right opportunities that have come and do come my way. I feel so grateful, blessed and useful.'
She gave her intrigued fans a peek into her budding romance when she hinted in another recent snap of the pair that 'a holiday romance was brewing', and that 'it may just become an everlasting love'. Charlie, 42, is a retired English professional welterweight boxer and is currently signed to Conor McGregor 's Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he walks into the ring as the 'Croydon Bomber'

The pair are believed to have reconnected in Dubai at the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships) where Chasa was competing – and have been enjoying quality time together since. He opened up last year about his own experiences of drugs, confessing he'd 'gone down a dark road' but had been in recovery for more than seven years since hitting rock bottom.
After going public, it seems Charlie and Danniella's fans are especially keen to see them go the distance. On one of the most recent snaps of them on Instagram, one follower urged the bare knuckle fighter to 'wife that one up, bro' – to which they both replied with red heart and hand-clapping emojis. Another person added: 'Please stay together forever' while another wrote: 'I've not seen you two so happy in a long time, long may it continue.'
Things also seem to be looking up for Danniella when it comes to her relationship with her two children – Kai and Jodie – who she's been estranged from at various points in their lives. In 2023, the actress claimed she was heartbroken after her grown-up daughter Jodie, who she shares with ex husband Kevin Jenkins, had 'cut' her out of her life with no explanations.
After a few followers posted on Jodie's social media urging her to get back in touch with her mum, she responded with a polite: 'If you don't know the situation please don't comment, thank you.' But it seems time can be a great healer and as of last month, things appeared to be improving. 'Having both my children back in contact with me and rebuilding what I broke is something I never thought I would get a chance to do,' Danniella said.
'The blessings just keep on coming one day at a time.' Our source says the TV star takes full responsibility for what's happened in the past but is determined to get things back on track. 'She's learned from her past mistakes, she's back in touch with her daughter and is so happy about it. She'll do everything she can to make sure things remain positive between them.' Hopefully Danniella gets the happiness she wants .

Patsy Palmer leaves British Soap Awards co-stars aghast with Vagina monologue

EastEnders star Patsy Palmer stunned her British Soap Awards co-stars with her very crude speech while on stage as host Jane McDonald was left open mouthed Patsy Palmer had her soap colleagues' jaws on the floor with her crude speech on stage at the British Soap Awards. The EastEnders star picked up the Best Comedy Performance for her role as loudmouth Bianca Butcher. She made an epic comeback to the BBC soap in February as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations. However, Patsy's speech took an unexpected turn when she headed up on stage to collect her award. ‌ The glitzy do, which took place over the weekend but aired on TV last night, was hosted by Jane McDonald. She was so stunned by Patsy that she turned to face the camera with an open mouth. ‌ The TV favourite kicked off her cheeky speech: "Knock knock. Listen I haven't prepared a speech because I thought Jack [P. Shepherd] was going to win." She continued: "To be able to be funny and all of what we've seen tonight, is nothing short of a miracle really. I want to thank Shona McGarty for leaving, because if she hadn't have left, I wouldn't have come back." Patsy's speech soon took a turn as she admitted: "I wasn't expecting that and I'm so glad I did because I stayed for the 40th and that was really where we celebrated the woman's vagina. The actress then declared: "I think vagina's have always been funny." She was met with both shock and laughter from the audience as she also burst out laughing. However, Michelle Collins, who plays Cindy Beale, looked mortified while Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt appeared gobsmacked at Patsy's remark. The reference was, of course, to Sonia Fowler giving birth during the live 40th anniversary episode. ‌ Carrying on her speech, Patsy said: "All jokes aside, coming back to EastEnders after quite some time has been the most amazing experience for me. "I'm beyond grateful, I'm not going to cry because it's a comedy award, but you have no idea what a gift it has been for me to come back." ‌ When she left the stage, a baffled host Jane said: "I don't know quite what to say. How many times can you say vagina in one speech." Viewers also joked about the reason the award ceremony is not broadcast live as one said: "I mean perhaps they are given how many times Patsy Palmer said the word vagina in her acceptance speech!' Another added: 'I cannot wait to see what parts of Patsy Palmer's vagina tangent makes the tv broadcast.' Someone else commented: 'Happy Patsy Palmer Vagina Speech Day to all who celebrate.' It wasn't the first time Patsy left viewers stunned with her speeches, as some Celebrity Big Brother viewers felt awkward during her exit chat. She didn't seem impressed when quizzed on her clash with Mickey Rourke in the house before he was booted out for his shocking behaviour. ‌ Host Will said: "There were a few tricky moments that you had to deal with in there, people complaining about broccoli - that was one, but you seemed to move past that?" Patsy shook her head as she refused to say anything. Will asked: "You don't want to talk about the broccoli?" While Patsy remained silent, AJ added: "Did it upset you that Mickey complained to your face about the food?" She still didn't seem impressed as she responded: "Not really that...," before the hosts agreed to move on from Mickey chat. Hitting back at viewers, Patsy wrote on social media: "There's nothing awkward about silence. It says it all!"

'I was Grange Hill legend Zammo now I'm a locksmith after horror crash ended my dream'

Zammo McGuire had one of the most infamous story lines on Grange Hill after becoming a heroin addicts, but life for the actor after leaving the show took a different turn For a generation of viewers, he was the fresh-faced trouble-prone kid of Grange Hill, but since he graduated, Lee Macdonald's life trajectory took a turn after a nasty accident changed his dream. Ingrained into the memory of a generation who grew up in the 1980s, Lee Macdonald - who played Zammo Mcguire - made his way into houses across the country, and even into the White House as he and some of the cast were invited to Washington DC after Nancy Reagan watched the show. ‌ Zammo was the classic 'cheeky chap' youngster with bags of charm but who was easily swayed down the wrong path, but this time it wasn't getting in trouble for getting into a playground scrap. ‌ The show known for introducing some of the biggest issues of the time to a young audience had storylines centred around racism, teenage pregnancy, HIV and AIDS, and in this case drug addiction. Zammo's story arc in particular struck with families becoming one of the most popular and controversial stories of the show as he was lured down the path of heroin addiction, leading to the infamous scene of him nearly overdosing when he was found slumped in a toilet. The character became the face of the "Just Say No" anti-drug campaign that swept across the world in the 80s, with the Grange Hill cast even having a top five UK chart hit with their anti-drugs charity track, Just Say No. But after his five-year spell on the show would come to an end in 1987, his time in front of the camera would take a hiatus. Partly something he claims was done due to the damage of the association with drugs, reports Sky. ‌ But speaking about his time on the show to The Guardian, he had overwhelmingly positive things to say: "I was doing something I really enjoyed, getting paid for it and I was getting loads of girlfriends. My schoolwork never suffered; I was never bullied at school. It was the best thing I ever did, and if I could do it all again I would.' Instead, he looked to turn his hobby of boxing into a career, however tragedy would strike just years later. When he was 21, Macdonald was left with severe head injuries after being involved in a nasty car crash that rendered his boxing career over before it had even started. ‌ But since then he found things outside acting, buying up a locksmith in Surrey in 2000, with his old Grange Hill days coming in useful for mustering up business. He added: 'I went round local estate agents, and they would go: 'Zammo!' A lot of the work now I've got is from it.' His website for the business even has the moniker: 'Just say no to the rest!' But despite the locksmith business paying most of the bills, in more recent years, he's still been popping up on our television screens - most notably with small roles on EastEnders, The Bill and Neighbours. In June last year, the actor also shared his health battle with the world, revealing that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer after spotting an "unusual spot on my face". Posting to social media he added: "As we get older please keep an eye on anything unusual and hopefully get it looked at early!!! Booked in to get it sorted over the next couple of days."

Big EastEnders return as blast from the past confirmed for Elaine

A returning EastEnders character sets off a chain of events that could change the course of Elaine Peacock's (Harriet Thorpe) life next week. Walford is set to welcome back the Queen Vic landlady's former foe Drew Peacock (Paul Clayton) in forthcoming scenes, as he supports her through trouble in her marriage to George Knight (Colin Salmon). Drew made quite the impact when he first appeared in the BBC soap last year, with Elaine's grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) booking him as the drag queen for her hen do, not realising they had a historic connection. It was then revealed that Drew was the lover of Elaine's late husband and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright)'s dad John, with the former having had no idea that her father was gay. While it was initially daggers at dawn between Elaine and Drew, they later laid the ghosts of the past to rest, and he offered her some words of advice ahead of her wedding to George. Six months later, relations between Elaine and George have soured due to the continued presence of his ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). Earlier this week, Elaine was left furious after finding out George had secretly been helping Cindy with her plans for The Albert and caused a scene at the official relaunch party. But just as tensions start to thaw between the couple on Monday, George's son Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) drops the bombshell that his dad went to see his mother, Sabrina, on Christmas night. George then confesses that Sabrina kissed him, but swears he rejected her. However, Elaine is devastated that he's lied again and throws him out of The Vic.
