Vikings have history on their 2025 schedule
History on the schedule for the Minnesota Vikings this season.
The NFL announced its international schedule on Tuesday, showing that games will take place in Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland and Spain this season.
The Vikings will be the first NFL team to compete overseas in back-to-back weeks. Minnesota will faceoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Croke Park in Dublin on Sept. 28. The game will be seen on 9:30 a.m. ET and broadcast on NFL Network.
"Playing in Ireland's first-ever NFL game is an opportunity to introduce new fans to the Minnesota Vikings and help the league continue to make the game of football more accessible globally," Vikings team owner Mark Wilf said in a news release. "To do so against a storied franchise like the Pittsburgh Steelers adds a unique challenge that makes this even more special.
"We are honored to be selected for this historic game and will be anxious to see what promises to be an electric game day environment in Croke Park."
The following week, the Vikings will go up against the Cleveland Browns. The game will start at 9:30 a.m. ET as well and take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
"Our experiences in London have always been memorable, so to return in 2025 as the first team to play in back-to-back international games in different countries was something we could not pass up," Wilf added. "UK fans have a history of showing up and embracing the Minnesota Vikings, creating what often feels like a homefield environment, and we are hopeful that is what we see again in 2025."
Minnesota first played Pittsburgh overseas in 2012. It was the first season the NFL had multiple games in London. The team played the Browns in London in 2017 and returned to play the New Orleans Saints in 2022.
Last season, the Vikings defeated the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

About a month after a dramatic slide in the NFL Draft, talk is growing that Shedeur Sanders could start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. The former HBCU Player of the Year at Jackson State and standout at Colorado has made headlines throughout mini-camp - and the buzz keeps building. If Shedeur gets on the field - starter or not - he'll be breaking a barrier for HBCU quarterbacks. He spent two years under his father, Deion Sanders, at Jackson State. He won SWAC and FCS Freshman of the Year in 2021 and SWAC Player of the Year in 2022 before transferring to Colorado. No HBCU quarterback has taken an NFL snap since 2015. That year, former Alabama State star Tavaris Jackson subbed in for Russell Wilson with the Seahawks. Jackson was also the last HBCU quarterback drafted before Sanders. Former Texas A&M legend, current NFL head coach awarded for lifetime achievements Former Texas A&M legend and current Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell was honored with the Lettermen's Association 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday for his contributions as an Aggie and his achievements as a coach. The Texas A&M football program put together a surprise for Campbell, as he thought he was only joining his former strength coach Mike Clark for an "interview" about his time playing in Bryan-College Station, Texas. Little did he know, awaiting him would be several of his former coaches, teammates and players from throughout his career to congratulate him on the outstanding honor. Campbell played tight end for the Aggies from 1995-1998, hauling in 27 receptions for 314 yards and three touchdowns in the Maroon and White. Following the end of his collegiate career, he was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft. The Clifton, Texas, native spent stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, and New Orleans Saints before transitioning into his career as a coach. He started as an intern with the Miami Dolphins, where he quickly found his footing. After the Dolphins fired former head coach Joe Philbin, Campbell was anointed the interim head coach. Campbell returned to New Orleans in 2016 to become the new assistant head coach and tight ends coach, before he was hired by the Lions in 2021 to become the 28th head coach of the franchise. Since then, the former Aggie has broken the mold in Detroit to form one of the powerhouse teams in the NFC. The Lions have reached unprecedented heights over the last few seasons under Campbell, which included securing a 12-5 record to tie the franchise's single-season wins record, claiming the first divisional title since 1993 and advancing to the first NFC Championship since 1991. His gritty mentality, determination and dedication to the game of football have been well-received by the Lions fanbase. However, those traits and Campbell's contributions on and off the gridiron at Texas A&M are what led to this moment. Carl Nassib, NFL's 1st openly gay active player and West Chester native, has jersey added to Smithsonian
The jersey of West Chester native Carl Nassib is now on display at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, honoring his achievement as the first openly gay player to appear in an NFL regular-season game. The Malvern Prep alum made the announcement while appearing on The Pivot Podcast, hosted by former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder on May 6. The jersey on display is Nassib's No. 94 Las Vegas Raiders jersey from the team's 2021 season opener against the Baltimore Ravens — the first game he played after publicly coming out as gay in a social media post in June 2021. In that game, he made a critical strip sack on Lamar Jackson in overtime that helped lead the Raiders to a 33-27 victory. The jersey has been on display since May 21. "They reached out to me last year and said they wanted to add it to the collection. I said, absolutely. This is huge," Nassib said on the podcast. "I love museums. I love history. I love football. I love the gays." During the podcast, Nassib credited his late uncle, who was also gay and passed away from cancer, for inspiring him to share his truth. "When I came out to him, he said, 'This is the biggest weight off my chest. I'm not the only one,'" Nassib recalled. "That really charged me. I felt like I had to do this." Nassib walked on to Penn State's football team in 2011 but it wasn't until his last two years at Happy Valley that he started rewriting the Nittany Lions record books. In 2015, he set the Penn State single-season sack record with 15.5 sacks, was named a unanimous All-American, and received both the Lombardi Award and Nagurski-Woodson Award as the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year. Nassib played seven seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Las Vegas Raiders before retiring in 2023. During the podcast, Nassib also shared that he grew up an Eagles fan and is a big Taylor Swift fan.
