Travis Hunter's NFL scouting combine position group hints at where he'll potentially play
From the moment Travis Hunter showed the football world he was great at two positions, capable of impacting a game as both a wide receiver and cornerback, fans have been wondering which position he would stick to in the NFL.
On Thursday, we might've gotten our first clue.
The NFL published its full list of prospects invited to the scouting combine, which begins on Feb. 24, and of course Hunter was among the 329 players on the list. But with the list broken up into position groups, the Heisman winner could only be listed in one place and the NFL has him with the cornerbacks.

Now, let's be clear about something, just because Hunter is practicing and doing drills with cornerbacks at the combine doesn't mean he doesn't have plans to try his hand at wide receiver — or play both positions in the NFL. Until he speaks on the matter, we won't truly know his intentions.
It's also possible a team takes the decision out of hands. Hunter will be a high first-round pick. He has the third-best odds (+475) to go No. 1 overall at BetMGM. A team taking him that high could dictate his position to him.

Vikings CB Isaiah Rodgers embracing fresh start and preparing for bigger role in Minnesota
Minnesota Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rodgers missed the 2023 NFL season because of a gambling suspension. Last season, he won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, Minnesota's newest cornerback is getting ready for a bigger role. "Just enjoy the process while it's here," said Rodgers at mini-camp earlier this week. But if all goes according to plan, he'll be a starting cornerback and make a big impact this fall. At least that's what Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores wants. "He just wants me to be me," said Rodgers, of Flores. "That's one of the reasons why I came here. He just wants me to go out there and use my ball skills and use my knowledge to make plays." Rodgers, 27, will be paired with pro-bowler Byron Murphy. It's only been a few weeks, but the two corners have quickly become friends. "We play the game a lot," said Rodgers. "We ask each other about film. You know, how he sees this, how I see it. We switch from boundary to field. So we're just having fun with the scheme and figuring each other out." "I'd say that's my best friend already," said Murphy. "That's my dawg. Obviously just met him when he got here. But we're already playing games online, we got 2K, all those things. He's a great guy, great teammate. But that bond's already there." And it turns out that bond and their back-and-forth competition could result in a few more Vikings turnovers. Murphy had six interceptions last year, third best in the NFL. "A lot of plays on the ball. A lot of interceptions. He dropped a lot, though, "laughed Rodgers. "He's supposed to have at least 10-plus. So, just trying to get in that stat category with him and compete." "I dropped like five or six," smiled Murphy. "I don't know the exact number, but I gotta go make up for it this year for sure." Rodgers figures to factor in the return game, too. He has one career kickoff return for a touchdown so far, which happened in 2020. Along with many other Vikings, he took reps at that spot during OTAs and minicamp. WCCO asked Rodgers if he sees that being part of his job this season. "Anything to help the team. Just having fun out here. Enjoying the process too."

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown wanted on attempted murder charge in Miami: Reports
Former NFL star Antonio Brown is wanted by authorities in Miami-Dade County on a criminal charge of attempted murder, according to an arrest warrant cited by multiple news outlets. The charge stems from a shooting at a celebrity boxing event in May, according to the warrant, which was reported by The Washington Post and The Associated Press on Thursday and Friday, respectively. The arrest warrant calls for Brown to post a $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest pending trial, according to The Post. The AP reported that the second-degree murder charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. A video taken at the May 17 event, which was hosted by popular streamer Adin Ross, appeared to show Brown in an altercation with several people. Police questioned several people at the scene, and Brown was briefly detained, but there were no arrests made at the time, and no injuries were reported, according to The AP. Later that night, Brown wrote in a social media post that he had been jumped 'by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.' In 2018, he was sued after he allegedly threw furniture off the 14th-floor balcony of a South Florida apartment, nearly hitting a toddler below. He was also accused of speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour on a suburban Pittsburgh street. He later settled a suit from the furniture-tossing episode and was fined by a judge for the speeding incident. He was also accused of sending threatening messages to the woman. The Patriots released him, and the NFL suspended him for the first eight games of the 2020 season. The Allegheny County district attorney did not pursue the case because the statute of limitations had expired, and the sides later settled a civil case on undisclosed terms. In June 2020, Brown pleaded no contest to burglary and battery charges stemming from an incident that January with a moving company. He was ordered to serve two years of probation and 100 hours of community service. Brown was also instructed to attend an anger management program and undergo a psychological/psychiatric evaluation. Brown signed with the Buccaneers ahead of the 2020 season, playing in 15 games across two seasons and winning a Super Bowl following the 2020 regular season. The Buccaneers released Brown in January 2022 after he left his team's game against the New York Jets, stripping off his jersey and shoulder pads as he walked to the locker room in the third quarter. Brown was arrested multiple times in 2023 on warrants accusing him of failing to pay child support. In May 2024, he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, with records showing he owed $3 million to eight creditors.
