Billie Eilish's Earliest Release Is Back
Billie Eilish's Don't Smile at Me reenters several U.K. charts amid her sold-out Hit Me Hard and ... More Soft: The Tour, alongside gains for all three of her full-length albums. LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 10: Billie Eilish performs on stage at The O2 Arena on July 10, 2025 in London, England. (Photo byfor Live Nation) Billie Eilish has spent much of July in the United Kingdom, traveling from city to city as part of her massively successful Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour. Her run in the country began in Scotland, and she then headed down to London for half a dozen dates at The O2 Arena, and most recently, she performed in Manchester. All the excitement surrounding her tour has helped Eilish's music climb the charts in the U.K. Eilish first made a name for herself nearly a decade ago with her EP Don't Smile at Me, which dropped when she was just a teenager. The project included her breakout hit "Ocean Eyes," which went viral and turned her into a hot commodity in the music industry. That set reappears on a number of rankings this frame, as everything connected to the singer-songwriter grows in popularity this week. Don't Smile at Me Returns to Several Charts Don't Smile at Me returns to both the Official Albums Streaming and Official Albums charts this time around in the U.K. The short project lands at No. 91 on the former and No. 92 on the all-encompassing list of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the nation. Billie Eilish's Only Album to Miss the Top 10 Don't Smile at Me remains Eilish's only major release to miss the top 10 on the Official Albums chart. Despite the fact that it has now spent almost 250 weeks somewhere on that competitive tally, the set only peaked at No. 12. It did climb all the way to No. 4 on the list of the most-streamed collections in the U.K. Billie Eilish's Albums All Soar In addition to Don't Smile at Me's success, all three of Eilish's full-lengths are also gaining ground. Hit Me Hard and Soft, which is being promoted by the tour, returns to the top 10 on the Official Albums chart, pushing from No. 12 to No. 10. That set remains a top 40 success on every ranking on which it appears. Happier Than Ever and When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, her earlier two studio efforts, also push north, jumping to Nos. 35 and 54, respectively.

Live Nation to speed up purchase of additional 24% Ocesa stake as Mexico live music market grows
(Reuters) -Live Nation Entertainment said on Tuesday it will accelerate the purchase of an additional 24% stake in Mexican concert promoter Ocesa, as Mexico becomes a prominent market for live music events. The investment will give Live Nation greater control over the Mexican market, where concert attendance has more than tripled since 2019, reflecting the country's growing economic importance in the global entertainment industry. The New York-listed entertainment giant will acquire the stake from Corporación Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE), which will retain a 25% holding in Ocesa. The deal also extends Ocesa CEO Alejandro Soberón's contract through 2032. The transaction will provide CIE with proceeds exceeding 12 billion Mexican pesos ($641.03 million), which it may use to pay down debt and fund working capital needs. Live Nation's expanded ownership comes as Mexico's live music sector has experienced rapid growth. The partnership between Live Nation's global infrastructure and Ocesa's local market expertise has created more opportunities for international artists to perform in Mexico while expanding fan access to live entertainment. Mexico's live music boom has been driven by increased disposable income among younger demographics and a surge in international touring following the pandemic recovery. The expanded partnership positions Ocesa to book more major global acts while Live Nation gains deeper access to Latin America's fastest-growing entertainment market. The deal is expected to close by the end of next month, pending CIE shareholder approval. Live Nation acquired a 51% controlling stake in Ocesa Entretenimiento in 2021, purchasing 40% from Grupo Televisa and 11% from CIE. Beyoncé makes history with highest grossing country tour, earning over $400 million
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter concluded her groundbreaking "Cowboy Carter" tour in Las Vegas, making history with the highest grossing country tour as she surpassed $400 million in earnings. The Grammy-winning singer took her final bow on her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas on July 26. She ended her run with a bang, bringing out Destiny's Child, Jay-Z and Shaboozey for surprise performances. The concert signaled the end of her "Cowboy Carter" era — a 32-stop stadium tour that spanned the U.S. and Europe. The nine-city stint grossed over $400 million with attendance over 1.5 million in its three-month run, according to Live Nation. Billboard reported Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" tour is the highest grossing country tour of all time and the shortest tour in any genre to make over $400 million. Beyoncé extends her record as the highest grossing Black artist of all time and the highest-grossing R&B artist of all time. With her "Cowboy Carter" tour, she also becomes the first woman and the first American act to have two separate tours gross over $400 million. Billboard reported Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones are the only other acts that have accomplished this feat. Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour — Act 1 — reportedly grossed $580 million in 2023. As fans know, Beyoncé first debuted the highly anticipated show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 28 with 39 songs on the set list. The tour proved to be a revolutionary spectacle filled with fashion, different music genres and most notably country music and cultural commentary as she challenged industry norms. The megastar first released her eighth studio album, "Cowboy Carter," in March 2024. It has since made history and broken multiple records. As Beyoncé's first country album, she deliberately featured country legends and emerging Black country artists alike.
