Haj committee inspects arrangements at RGIA
During the inspection, the Chairman personally examined various key facilities prepared for the comfort and convenience of the returning Hajis. These included the Wazu (ablution) area, Namaz (prayer) area, holding area, exit gates, Zam Zam water distribution counter, customs clearance point, and overall passenger flow arrangements.
The Chairman was accompanied by officials from the Telangana State Haj Committee, Airport Authority, Customs, CISF, and GMR officials, who briefed him about the steps being taken to ensure a smooth and respectful reception of the pilgrims.
He emphasized the need for seamless coordination between all concerned departments to provide dignified and hassle-free services to the pilgrims, many of whom are senior citizens.
It was informed during the inspection that the arrival of Haj pilgrims is scheduled to begin from June 13 and will continue up to July 9, in multiple batches.

Haj pilgrims meet Minority Welfare Minister, hail CM Chandrababu Naidu's able leadership
VIJAYAWADA: Pilgrims who completed their Haj journey with the State government's support expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday for extending financial assistance. Though Vijayawada was designated as an embarkation point, flight services were cancelled due to low turnout. As a result, pilgrims departed from Hyderabad. Despite the change, the State government honoured its promise, crediting Rs 1 lakh each to 72 pilgrims who had initially chosen Vijayawada as their embarkation point. The pilgrims met Minister for Law and Minority Welfare NMD Farooq at his camp office in Amaravati. Holding placards, 'Thank You, CM Sir', they expressed appreciation for the support.

Terror threat: I-Day security at Kolkata airport
1 2 Kolkata: Security at Kolkata airport was stepped up in the run-up to Independence Day following an intelligence input indicating a terror threat at all Indian airports. The intelligence input came four months after the Pahalgam terror attack. Passengers are now being asked to arrive at the airport at least half an hour earlier than usual for additional security checks. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) directed all stakeholders to enhance security across the country between Sept 22 and Oct 2, citing possible threats. Sources said the alert was based on inputs related to a Pakistani terror group. Two additional security layers were introduced — one at the airport entry point and another just before passengers enter the boarding gates at Kolkata airport.
