What to expect as County Ground concerts return to Swindon this weekend
The Vengaboys and Tinchy Stryder will be the headline attraction as the County Ground concerts return to Swindon for their second year.
After a ten-year absence, concerts returned to the home of Swindon Town last summer, and they are expected to be bigger and better this year following a successful first year.
Across May 23 and 24, there will be Clubland Live and the Could Be Real Tribute Festival taking place with last year's total attendance of 5,000 expected to be surpassed.

Clubland Live takes place on May 23, starting at 4 pm as Biggz Deejay opens the eight-hour extravaganza of iconic artists from the '90s and '00s, with Tinchy Stryder taking the stage at 7.45 pm and headliners Vengaboys at 9.30 pm performing their hits like 'Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom.'
The other artists performing will include the likes of: DJ Sammy, Whigfield, Ultrabeat, and Ian Van Dahl.
Then on May 24, starting at 3 pm and running until 11 pm, some of the best tribute acts around will excite the crowds with the music of many beloved artists with the Could Be Real Tribute Festival.
Festival goers will be treated to the music of David Bowie, Elton John, Blur, Amy Winehouse, Kasabian, Oasis, Stereophonics, and Queen.
There will also be a large array of refreshments available for those attending, with three food vendors serving attendees, with burgers, fries, chicken gyros, and ice cream available, as well as plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Swindon Commercial Officer James Watts said of the concerts: 'Last year was the first event for ten years, and we have learned from the little mistakes we made; we are looking at extra bar space, more food vendors inside, and a more vigorous idea around how the VIP will work.
'Those were the three big lessons we have learned from last year, and I feel like we are more prepared now, having done one last year.
'There are a lot of venues, but in Wiltshire, there aren't really any, and that probably extends to between Bristol and London, that there aren't a lot of places which can host big acts.
'Realistically, in the long term, I think that we can look at a 10-15,000-people event, but that has to be built up over a number of years.
'We have put ourselves in the shop window to be able to do larger-scale events and attract people not only from Swindon but the wider area.'

Town to host first throwback festival
Big name music stars, including Tinchy Stryder, So Solid Crew, and Artful Dodger will perform at the first Wiltshire Throwback Festival this year. The 18+ festival will take place at Oakfield stadium, Melksham, from 20 -21 June. An application for the two-day festival was approved by Wiltshire Council's licensing sub committee on Wednesday, after other organisations withdrew their objections. Nico Menghini, co director of festival organisers Jarboom told the Local Democracy Reporting Service "We're ecstatic, especially considering the amount of work we've put in to satisfy the authorities." More news stories for Wiltshire Listen to the latest news for Wiltshire Wiltshire Highways and Wiltshire Police had expressed concern about congestion and parking. The police also said the organiser's security plans were insufficient and there was no drugs or alcohol management plan. Melksham Town Council had also said that they were worried about the noise it would create. In response, the festival directors submitted plans drawn up by professional consultants, including medical assessment, fire risks, noise management, drugs and alcohol, waste management and security. Mr Menghini said they were "very close" to selling out the 3,000 tickets allocated for each day and "we're already in the early planning stages for year two". "We went with the throwback theme because everyone loves a bit of nostalgia and being reminded of happier times," he said. Friday's line-up includes Liz Mitchell - one of the original singers Boney M - along with ska band Bad Manners, glam rockers Doctor and the Medics, and 80s kids TV star Timmy Mallet. On Saturday, the line-up includes 80s and 90s chart-toppers from the hip-hop, R&B and UK garage scenes, including So Solid Crew, Tinchy Stryder, Artful Dodger, and Blazin' Squad. Boyband 911 are also on the bill, while early 2000s TV presenters Dick & Dom will be DJing. "Dick & Dom especially were a no-brainer for me – I knew I had to have them at the first festival," Mr Menghini said. Follow BBC Wiltshire on Facebook, X and Instagram. Tributes paid after death of 'local radio giant'
Broadcaster John Peters has been described as a "giant of East Midlands radio" following his death, aged 75. Mr Peters worked in commercial radio for 50 years, including at Nottingham-based Radio Trent when he was the first voice to be heard following the station's launch in 1975. His first experience of broadcasting came when he worked on the radio network for United Biscuits factories in the early 1970s. He later broadcast on several other East Midlands commercial stations and spent time at the BBC, his former employer Boom Radio said. Most recently, he hosted Boom's weekly Vintage Charts show, in addition to "John's Jukebox" and a Friday evening slot. Mr Peters, who was born in Middlesex, has been described as "a radio man through and through" by David Lloyd, his former broadcasting colleague and co-founder of Boom Radio. Mr Lloyd said in a tribute: "It is with deep regret that we bring you the news that our John Peters has died. "A giant in East Midlands broadcasting with an unmistakable style - and loved hugely by his audience for 50 years. He was part of waking up the people of Nottingham for generations. "With his somehow relaxed energy, few have the gift he had for making a chart show an unmissable drama. "The team at Boom send their condolences to his wife Chrissie and all the family who have been by John's side during his illness." Follow BBC Nottingham on Facebook, on X, or on Instagram.
