As the list grows every month, EA has started to maintain a regularly updated list of all the games that are scheduled to shut down. Fans aren't particularly happy with this growing list, but on the positive side, it allows the fans to enjoy their favourite games before their dying moment.

. From this day onwards, all multiplayer or online game modes of Madden NFL 22 will be inaccessible for everyone.
Anyone who owns the game will only get access to the offline modes. This will also cut off fans from unlocking the game's achievements and trophies.
Furthermore, on an earlier date, EA had confirmed the shutdown of the game's previous iteration, Madden NFL 21. Madden NFL 21 is scheduled to have its servers shut down on June 30, 2025. The football video gaming fan base has been massively hit this year, with NCAA 14 having shut down on March 13, 2025.
While EA's decisions seem outrageous, the lack of player count in these football titles could have fueled their decision to cut down their servers and cut costs.

The bright side is that despite Madden NFL 22 shutting down, Madden NFL 23, 24, and 25 will remain operational, and players can continue enjoying the game's multiplayer aspects as usual. EA's decision to shut down two old Madden NFL games is no surprise, as the majority of football fans have shifted to the latest iterations of the franchise.
