Family confirms identity of teen in apparent drowning at East Fork State Park
Officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources received an emergency call just before 7 p.m. July 6 about a 14-year-old boy who went missing after swimming outside Harsha Lake's swim zone, a department spokesperson said. Kabumba was found shortly before 1 a.m. on July 7.

"Every time you see him, he's smiling, he's laughing and making jokes with people. He always wanted to brighten people's days," said Joseph's sister-in-law, Kiara Nichele Bishop.
Kiara has set up a GoFundMe to cover the expenses of Kabumba funeral. There, Kiara describes the teen as a kind and loving person who always put others first.
The Clermont County Coroner's office has not yet confirmed Kabumba's cause of death.

First responders were called to McGregor Lake in Val-des-Monts, Que. at around 11 p.m. Friday after getting an emergency call, according to MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police.
