(WFRV) – Recovery efforts are underway for a water rescue after a teenager went missing in Sheboygan Tuesday afternoon, officials say. According to a release from the Sheboygan Fire Department, a teen was reported missing at 2:09 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Sheboygan's Jaycee Quarry Park on 3401 Calumet Drive. Officials say that at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Sheboygan Fire Department, assisted by the Sheboygan Police Department, Sheboygan Department of Public Works, Sheboygan County Dive Team, Green Bay Police Department, Calumet County Dive Team, Manitowoc County Dive Team, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, continued their recovery efforts for the missing teen. Door County Sheriff's Office at 'active scene,' residents asked to avoid area Boats and divers are actively working in the area of the Quarry where the missing teen was last said to have been seen. Recovery efforts are expected to continue throughout the day, depending on whether the weather and water conditions remain safe for rescue personnel. A BODY has tragically been found in the search for a missing teenager who vanished more than a month ago. Serren Bennett, who would have turned 19 on July 5, disappeared on June 8 in Guisborough, North Yorkshire. 2 2 A major search was launched for the "vulnerable" teen and cops found clothing belonging to the 18-year-old at Redcar beach on June 16. Her aunty Nicky Betteridge told Teesside Live one of the items included Serren's late mum's dressing gown cord. Previous CCTV footage showed Serren walking towards the beach alone, at around 9pm. It is now understood the teenager stayed in the vicinity of the beach. Officers sadly recovered Serren's body on July 10 from the sea in the Humberside area. Formal identification is yet to take place, but the teenager's next of kin have been informed. A Cleveland Police spokesperson confirmed: "Sadly, on Thursday, July 10 police received a report that a body had been located in the sea in the Humberside area. "Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, officers have informed Serren Bennett's next of kin, who is being supported by specialist officers. "All our thoughts are with Serren's family at this difficult time." Serren's family is currently being supported by specially trained officers.

The family of a missing 14-year-old has confirmed that Joseph Kabumba was the victim of the second apparent drowning at Harsha Lake over Fourth of July weekend. Officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources received an emergency call just before 7 p.m. July 6 about a 14-year-old boy who went missing after swimming outside Harsha Lake's swim zone, a department spokesperson said. Kabumba was found shortly before 1 a.m. on July 7. He always wanted to brighten people's days," said Joseph's sister-in-law, Kiara Nichele Bishop. Kiara has set up a GoFundMe to cover the expenses of Kabumba funeral. There, Kiara describes the teen as a kind and loving person who always put others first. The Clermont County Coroner's office has not yet confirmed Kabumba's cause of death. Authorities in the Twin Cities are asking for help from the public in finding a missing teen they say may be heading to Minneapolis. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 18-year-old Melania Jones was last seen around 3 p.m. on Saturday in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She had been wearing a white T-shirt, white and black shoes, and a black backpack. Jones is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 130 pounds, according to the BCA. She has black hair and brown eyes. Melania Jones, 18, was last seen around 3 p.m. on July 5, 2025, in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Anyone with information on Jones' whereabouts is urged to call 911 or the Brooklyn Park Police Department at 763-493-8222. Two other teens were also reported missing in Brooklyn Park over the weekend: 17-year-old Carissa Lindstrom and 15-year-old Makayla Makor.

Search underway for missing boy in Mokelumne River in Lodi

Crews are searching for a missing teen boy who was swimming in a river in Lodi, officials said Thursday evening.
