
Nvidia RTX 5090 and 5080 launch alongside Nvidia app updates
Nvidia has also released a new GeForce Game Ready Driver and Nvidia Studio driver, as well as a major Nvidia app update.
Nvidia has introduced DLSS 4, bringing significant AI-driven enhancements to the GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and laptops. The latest update, featuring DLSS Multi Frame Generation, aims to deliver performance boosts, higher image quality and smoother gameplay across a range of popular titles.
DLSS 4 marks the biggest AI model upgrade since DLSS 2.0 in 2020, incorporating transformer-based technology—the same architecture behind advanced AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini. This innovation enhances DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Ray Reconstruction and DLAA, resulting in improved temporal stability, reduced ghosting and sharper motion detail.
With DLSS Multi Frame Generation, Nvidia's AI now generates up to three additional frames per traditionally rendered frame, achieving up to an 8X performance boost over conventional rendering methods. This breakthrough enables 4K 240 FPS gaming with full ray tracing on the new GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card.
DLSS 4 is now available in over 75 games and applications, with major titles like Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and Star Wars Outlaws receiving significant enhancements. Upcoming releases such as DOOM: The Dark Ages, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will also integrate DLSS 4 for optimised performance.
In addition to gaming advancements, Nvidia has released an updated GeForce Game Ready Driver and a revamped Nvidia app. The app now allows users to activate DLSS 4 overrides for improved image quality on all GeForce RTX GPUs, while also introducing new AI-powered effects in Nvidia Broadcast, including Studio Voice for enhanced microphone sound and Virtual Key Light for improved video lighting.
With the GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 now available, Nvidia continues to push the boundaries of AI-powered gaming and content creation, reinforcing its position at the forefront of graphics technology.

This week, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and full ray tracing is launching in FBC: Firebreak, while DOOM: The Dark Ages receives a path tracing upgrade that adds DLSS Ray Reconstruction, amplifying image quality in the critically acclaimed shooter. NVIDIA is also releasing a new GeForce Game Ready Driver that includes day-zero support for FBC: Firebreak, DOOM: The Dark Ages' new update and REMATCH, a new multiplayer sports game featuring DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. Remedy Entertainment's new three-player cooperative first-person shooter, FBC: Firebreak, is set in the same Federal Bureau of Control players reclaimed from supernatural invaders in the graphically spectacular Control. This time, as one of the FBC's fearless first responders, gamers and their teams are on call to confront everything from reality-warping Corrupted Items to otherworldly monsters, no matter the odds. FBC: Firebreak on PC features the full suite of RTX technology developed for Remedy's Alan Wake 2, giving GeForce RTX gamers the definitive PC gaming experience. Bethesda Softworks and id Software are adding path tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction to DOOM: The Dark Ages on June 18th, making the battle against Hell all the more immersive. Path tracing takes the quality of ray-traced lighting to the next level, reflecting additional detail and game elements on surfaces. NVIDIA Spatial Hash Radiance Cache (SHaRC) technology is leveraged to performantly compute path-traced light, while NVIDIA Shader Execution Reordering further accelerates performance on GeForce RTX GPUs, and DLSS Ray Reconstruction further enhances image quality and performance. Wired Productions and Caged Element's Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is an action combat racing game that recently exited Early Access. Now, GeForce RTX gamers joining the high-Orktane racing will discover support for DLSS Super Resolution, significantly accelerating frame rates. Sloclap, creators of the critically acclaimed Sifu, are launching REMATCH on June 19th with Advanced Access available now via the purchase of Pro and Elite editions of the game.
