Sevilla set €45m asking price for Juventus target
Sevilla have had a relatively good season up until now, and a big reason for this is the excellent form of Dodi Lukebakio. The Belgian winger had a rather quiet first campaign at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, but it is in 2024-25 that he is starting to come into his own.
Lukebakio has made up for Sevilla's striker woes, as he currently sits top of the club's scoring charts with nine (all in La Liga). He will be hoping to add to that tally when Barcelona come to Seville on Sunday night, and given that he has already found the back of the net against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, he will fancy his chances of completing the set.
Given his impressive form this season, it is no surprise that Lukebakio has attracted interest from across Europe. Juventus are the team that have been most keen to prise him away from Sevilla, although they were unable to make a deal happen in the recently-passed winter transfer window.
Despite their well-documented financial woes, Sevilla are unwilling to part ways with Lukebakio anytime soon. According to Diario AS, they are unwilling to negotiate with clubs that want to sign the 27-year-old, meaning that the only guaranteed way for a sale to happen is if his €45m release clause was triggered.
Sevilla are only likely to accept an amount close to his valuation in instalments, rather than the one-off payment that the release clause would entail. However, they are clear that they won't let their financial problems play a big role in losing their prized attacker.
It will be interesting to see whether Sevilla can hold on to Lukebakio in the summer. For now, they will hope that he can continue producing impressive performances that can drive Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta's side towards the European places in La Liga.

Real Madrid Finalizes Transfer Agreement For Superstar Signing: Report
Spanish soccer giant Real Madrid has reached a transfer agreement with River Plate for the latter's highly-rated teenager Franco Mastantuono according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited anonymous sources. After landing Brazilian prodigy Endrick from Palmeiras in 2024 for a reported $68.5 million (€60 million), Los Blancos were often linked to heading across the border and securing Mastantuono. Unlike new signings such as Dean Huijsen and Trent-Alexander Arnold, however, which were made swiftly with one eye on the newly-reimagined FIFA tournament that has huge prize money on offer, Mastuono won't switch allegiances in order to play the Club World Cup. He'll compete in the tournament as a River player, where the Argentines face Urawa, Monterrey and beaten Champions League finalists Inter Milan in the group stage meaning Marcelo Gallardo's men have a realistic chance of making it to the knockout phase. As we've seen with Endrick, who has Kylian Mbappe in his way, breaking into the Real Madrid first XI is no easy task. A bit further back, however, there might be a semi-vacant spot on the right wing where a Rodrygo linked to a potential exit ended 2024/2025 out of the picture while Arda Guler took the position for himself.

NATO needs 400% increase in air and missile defence, Rutte will say in London
LONDON (Reuters) -NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will use a speech in London on Monday to say the military alliance needs a 400% increase in air and missile defence, one of the priorities for a summit of members in the Hague later this month. Rutte is pushing for members to boost defence spending to 3.5% of GDP and commit a further 1.5% to broader security-related spending to meet U.S. President Donald Trump's demand for a 5% target. Last month, he said he assumed that target would be agreed at the summit on June 24-25. Rutte will argue in a speech at London's Chatham House think tank that for NATO to maintain credible deterrence and defence, it needs "a 400% increase in air and missile defence". "We see in Ukraine how Russia delivers terror from above, so we will strengthen the shield that protects our skies," he will say, according to extracts of his speech provided by his office. "The fact is, we need a quantum leap in our collective defence. The fact is, we must have more forces and capabilities to implement our defence plans in full.
