Final farewell gig for The Searchers ahead of Glastonbury
The Liverpool legends, who in the golden pop era of the 60s were second only to the The Beatles, return to The Concorde Club on Thursday June 26 for the final gig on their Thank You tour.

The following day The Searchers step on the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury Festival to write the final chapter of a pop story which began nearly 70 years ago.
The Concorde has always been a favourite venue for The Searchers, who have toured continually for more than 67 years.
Their most famous single remains their 1963 debut Sweets For My Sweet.

In the opening episode of the revamped Match of the Day, veteran pundit Alan Shearer committed a glaring on-air error. Shearer blamed Liverpool left back Milos Kerkez in the build-up to the goal, even though the player had already been subbed off four minutes earlier. As the picture rolled, Shearer was visibly critical of Kerkez's positioning, remarking to host Mark Chapman: 'There's Kerkez, he's on the way to attack when they haven't even got possession, which means he's five or six yards out of position.' An on-screen graphic compounded the blunder by identifying the wrong defender, listing Kerkez instead of Andy Robertson, who actually occupied the full back role during the goal. Social media erupted with quick-witted and critical responses. One X user quipped, 'Kerkez's positioning for the first Bournemouth goal was atrocious. So far out of position, tracksuit on and worst of all sat down.' Another wrote: 'What makes this worse is that it was analysed a full 24 hours AFTER the game had taken place. Lazy punditry or terrible bias.' A third commented: 'Alan Shearer has lost the plot. Also since [Gary] Lineker is gone, what's the point of watching MOTD anymore really?' This was only the opening week of a format overhaul - long-time host Gary Lineker is no longer part of the show, with presenters Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates now sharing duties. To that end, Match of the Day also introduced a fresh pundit: Wayne Rooney, who joined on a reported £800,000-per-year deal. Lineker confirmed his departure from the BBC in May and 'apologised unreservedly' after being accused of anti-semitism after sharing a someone else's social media post. Before he was substituted on Friday, Kerkez had put in a rather underwhelming Premier League debut performance for Liverpool. However, after the game, manager Arne Slot offered an explanation for his withdrawal, explaining it was a precaution as Kerkez was one booking away from suspension.

In a candid interview with the Sun on Sunday, the former Premiere League star,36, admitted: "I love Lou and I love her family. We row like any couple." Addressing the status of his divorce from Billi, Andy, who also has two children from a previous relationship, added: "Things have been difficult for me and I'm going through a divorce. Some of our rows have been about alcohol, as Lou has been teetotal for 14 years and I have a beer or wine at dinner and a drink after the game, but it's not a problem in my life." Andy continued: "We're better off together and we're trying to work through our difficulties." The couple had been together for more than a year before their split. And at the time they unfollowed each other from social media. Andy even went as far as to erase all trace of Lou from his Instagram account. Since their reunion, the couple resumed their trademark loved up posts of each other. Last week, an insider revealed to the Daily Mail: "It was Lou who ended her relationship with Andy, she walked away a few days ago, it was very much her choice to end their romance. " They went on to say: "She isn't interested in pointing the finger or blaming him and hoped to deal with their split in private, before he blocked her on Instagram and deleted their photos together." The source insisted that she was left "very upset" with regards to the arguments they endured before the split. Andy reportedly flew to Ibiza on a private jet despite the fact he had no idea where she was staying. Before they agreed to work on their relationship, the insider told the publication that Andy would have believed his huge gesture would win her over immediately but apparently Lou would be unimpressed. The source continued: "All she has done all year is love and support Andy, her feelings haven't gone away, but Lou has to protect herself now and ending the relationship is the only way to move forward." Andy had been playing football in France for two years before returning to the UK to play for Dagenham and Redbridge. One of the couple's arguments were in public and was witnessed by a restaurant worker. Things between the pair reportedly became heated, to the point where police were called. A worker at the Nikolus Tavern in Greece told The Sun on Sunday: "He [Andy] seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. They added: "It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset." The police spoke to Andy and later allowed him to return to Lou. The worker continued: "Police spoke to him. He was allowed to return, and the couple left after paying for their meal. Andy was very calm when the police arrived — he stood up and spoke to them outside the restaurant." In a joint statement given to The Sun, it read: "Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to "look after" us. The couple added: "As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter." When Andy was bought by Liverpool football club from Newcastle for £35million, he became one of the UK's most expensive Premiere League footballers.

Proposals for TV and film training centre at Littlewoods Building

'Big opportunity' While remediation work on the landmark site has been completed, the conversion of the building into a film studio will require millions of pounds in Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has so far committed up to £ said he was working with the London Screen Academy, a free school in the capital which provides16-18 year olds with vocational training in aspects of film and television said adding a school in Liverpool would be "the jewel in the crown" of the film studio project and would be part of the same academy trust as its southern said conversations with government had been positive.
